Sweet Potato Cakes at Boatwrights!?!

We're having breakfast at Boatwright's one morning for our March trip and I have never tried their SP cakes ... was wondering who has had them ... and what do they look like?! I love sweet potato casserole and a sweet potato with butter/salt. But will I like the SP cakes? Anyone?

They're really good; they're basically pancakes with sweet potato in them. You don't need syrup, they're very sweet by themselves.

Will you like them? I couldn't tell you that.

They are absolutely delicious. They are darkish brown & they come with honey pecan butter. Yummy!! 91 more sleeps & I 'll be having them.

Ohhh so good! They look like pancakes, but a bit darker, a little orange-y brown. If you like sweet potatos and/or pumpkin pie, you should love them. They are wonderful

If you want to try them before you go, allears has the recipe for them. I've eaten them both at the resturant, then after I got home using the recipe. I thought the recipe tasted pretty decent.

Thanks everyone! That's what I was looking for ... I just might give them a try over the stuffed french toast since it was a bit big and too sweet for me last time!

Oh my god, are these delicious! It was one of the only things I have ever liked at Boatwrights. I had them this past September and they were great - a little sweet, and they were very moist, not 'fluffy' like most pancakes are. Although, my mom tried a bite and said they tasted 'weird' so to each his own.

I love these--we make a special trip for them! They are sweet and have a maple nut butter and I dont' use syrup on them becasue the sweetness of the pancake combined withthe butter is just perfect! I'll be adding an ADR for boatwrights to my list!
