Swapping TS credits for QS usage

Can I use my TS credits to buy a QS meal? Will Disney let me do that? Or must TS credits only be used for TS meals?

Apparently, most of the time you can use a TS credit to purchase a CS meal. It's a straight one on one trade, no extras. And from what's been reported on here, you can do this only when you have no CS credits left to use.

my sister able to do it last year only at the resort where we were staying and it was 1 for 1. She tried a few times at the park and they refused.

Last Jan. we had the deluxe dining plan and had no trouble using TS credits for QS credits at all the parks and our resort.

I wish we could find out for sure.
I know it is not cost-effective to use a TS credit on CS.
But when things happen, weather or sickness, or whatever.

We have used TS credit for a QS meal. I am pretty sure you can do it anywhere. I don't know why they would care, it benefits them.

On the DxDP, you get meal entitlements, not TS and CS entitlements/credits. So you can use your entitlements at either TS or CS locations.

As of Jan. 1, 2012, Disney's policy is that you can use a TS credit for a QS meal anywhere on property. This info was in the "great tips" section of the brochure early on in 2012, but was later revised and that tip was removed. According to multiple email responses posted here on the Dis, it is still their policy. I'll see if I can track one down and post the link.

On the DxDP, you get meal entitlements, not TS and CS entitlements/credits. So you can use your entitlements at either TS or CS locations.

Correct... DxDP entitles you to three meals per day which can be all TS, all CS, or any combination.

On regular DDP, if you are dead set on eating at more CS restaurants than your entitlements allow for, you might consider paying OOP for one of the CS meals and making an ADR at a 2TS signature restaurant to use the extra TS credit instead of using a TS credit for a CS meal.

On the deluxe there are no TS credits and CS credits. There are only meal credits. Deluxe credits can always be used interchangeably for either TS or CS.

Regular dining credits are different, because they are specifically designated TS or CS by the computers. You cannot use a CS credit for a TS meal. Apparently sometimes, but not all the time, you can use a TS credit for a CS meal. I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not it "benefits" Disney, but on whether or not the particular cashier you go to thinks they will be able to ring it up as a CS meal but pay with a TS credit.

Just this January I saw a guy flip out at Captain Cook's because he wasn't allowed to exchange a CS for snacks. Apparently he was allowed to do it in a prior year. He screamed a lot at the cashier about Disney changing things and not giving any notice. Which they do sometimes as far as substitutions on the dining plans.
