Swap is Cancelled

The stroller is happily with the first swapper... It was sooo nice to be in Disney today. I wanted to stay..

How are we to communicate now that the swap threads are being locked this week because of the no more swapping rule? please let us know what the best thing to do is. I am really bummed taht this will no longer be allowed because it has really helped my trip budget. I am so glad i got into one before this rule took place

But I believe the stroller is very close to, if not entirely paid for now. I think on Friday the OP makes it FREE as to conform to the new rules. Then it will not be locked and we can still communicate with people. The only part is we do not continue to make money for all the "extras". So this way we can post if we are able to spring for something out of our own pocket to add, otherwise just look forward to the fact that we have a stroller to use I don't think there is any other options?? Anyone???

What does everyone else think??

I want everyone that is swapping to contact me with your opinion. I have a hard time letting people use a stroller that we all contributed to for free. What stops them from stealing the stroller. At least, if we have paid something, I have some kind of information on the swapper. I think maybe we should all give thoughts on this one.

I will change this to a "Free" swap. But I am going to be selective. I need to protect the people that helped pay for this stroller. It's not fair to the people who paid. If I can't get swappers we trust, I live in Florida, so I will still be able to pick up the stroller for long breaks in the swap.

thanks a bunch! I saw suggested on the thread about all this that we can suggest someone donate an item that we need. Maybe you can put a "want" list on the 1st part of the thread so people can donate those items if they choose to (not obligated too of course) and maybe that will help get some of the things we wanted for the stroller.

There is a wish list...it says thing we want people to donate. It used to say buy...but I deleted that.

I dont mind giving any personal information out in order to be added to the list. I had paid for the prior stroller the day I promised pmt to the other swap leader but she was forced into cancelling past June . Im still bummed out about everything...

What a great idea! You guys are so clever. I actually could use it an open week- May 31st-June 3rd, but I am WAY too chicken on the exchange since I have never stayed on property and only been once as an adult. But, Im amazed how wonderful Disney loyalists are. Awesome idea!

I am fairly new to this board and a first time disney dad taking his wife and three daughters to WDW. Who is most excited???? Me.....it is a funny world. I can't wait to take my girls to Cinderella's Castle and see their faces! I could get emotional just thinking about it. Anyway, I "lurked" on these boards for a while....read about the swaps....and just watched. I too was amazed that these people (which I am one now) trusted each other with these swaps. I read and read looking for someone who got "screwed" in one of these deals....but I couldn't find it. So I took the plunge and joined this swap. I have PM'd the people just before and after me. We communicated exchanged info and what I found out is we all are in the same boat here. Just trying to save some money on a trip that will be expensive.

But really what impresses me the most about all of this is that people here LOVE their kids and Love WDW and those two things have made this board a community. DISboarders find each other, meet each other, share in each others joys and struggles, post pictures with their kids, laugh and cry together.....it is truley amazing. I am sorry to see the swaps go but the mods have their reasons......

Have a great time at WDW....my family will be there just after you and I can't wait.

I agree with you completely. I have never done a swap before, so I looked and looked and did not see anyone that has had a problem. I think our swap will be ok. I am now being very selective to who I allow.

Experiencing the Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk (7 days each), all the parks and the nightime shows. It's original users (5 and 3 year old girls) are still in the World through tomorrow, but the stroller is on it's way to it's next adventures.
