I was reading that they have magician's at the tables and the menu sounds good. Have any of you ever been there? I was thinking this could be a good dinner for my family on a non-park day during our stay at the BWV.

It's been a while since we were there (Sept 2000), but we loved it.

We stumbled upon the place after finding every other place in Epcot and the Boardwalk booked up. At that time, Rafiki and Timon were wandering around. There were probably only 4 tables of guests for a Friday night at around 9PM.

Hamburgers are to die for and our daughter really liked the broccoli trees. They have a neat tradition of all the adults getting a sample of wine while the waiter tells the Gulliver story. It's a nice place to get away from the crowds.

Just outside the restraunt is a huge kitchen where you can look through the window and watch them prepare various things.

Hmm. Sounds good. I wonder if it's a good place for us to plan our first night's dinner since I can make a p.s.

Thanks!

Oh, what about the magicians? You mentioned characters. Maybe the characters come on different nights than the magicians?

No magicians then, at least on the night we were there.

We would normally look for some comfort food an lots of choices on our first day on any vacation. Seattle to Orlando is either a very long day or a very long night (we can't sleep on the plane with travel fever). Gullivers is the type of menu that fits the bill to a "T." We caught the end of Illuminations on the way back to BW - that was pure magic. The only possilbe drawback is that you can't charge to your room if you are at a Disney Resort.

Don't recall there being magicians in the last few years??? Maybe it's something new??

There are characters. Timon and Rafikki rotate nights with Pluto and Goofy.

We enjoy the food and the service here. Always have had good experiences! We mainly order off the menu although one time I did get the buffet (too much good food for one person!!!), if it was the only choice that would be one thing but they do also have good "lighter" menu items.

I'm sure we'll be stopping in for dinner here one night during our upcoming visit (has to be on a Pluto/Goofy night). DD is petrified of Rafikki:teeth:

Mine too! We flew red-eye from Seattle in 2000 (none of us could sleep on the flights) and went directly to Animal Kingdom. At Conservation Station, Rafiki kept sneaking around corners and totally had her spooked. We had to ask the characters to leave that night - leaving them with nothing to do because there were no other kids there.

It all goes back to Minnie sneaking up on her at a character breakast at Disneyland when she was 14-months. Kind of a bummer that characters have freaked her out for so long (she's 6 now), but it has meant that she's never asked to go to Chuck E. Cheeses! :hyper:
