Thinking of extending our Christmas trip. Was wondering-which do you prefer-Swan or Dolphin and why? Thinking of conceirge.
Also-2 DS's-12 and 15. Not sure if that would have any bearing on which! Any input would be appreciated!

minnemmom, it depends on what you like. The Dolphin has the bigger rooms while the Swan has the heavenly beds. We were going to stay at the Swan but it was all booked up while we're in WDW. But I'm not complaining about staying at the Dolphin.:D I can't wait!

Hi,

We stayed at the Dolphin this past Aug and I can tell you why we choose the Dolphin over the Swan. The 24hr Food Area called Tubbi's is located in the Dolphin(refillable mugs). The Body by Jake Gym, which is important to my husband, is located in the Dolphin. Because the Dolphin has more rooms then the Swan there is more of a chance of getting a free upgrade if you are a SPG member. I also feel that the Dolphin is closer to the main pool area called the Grotto Pool even though some say the pool is in the middle of the two resorts but it did not feel that way to me.

No matter where you end up staying I am sure you will have a great trip.

There's a game room next to Tubbi's at the Dolphin...your sons would enjoy that :)

Have fun whatever you decide!

The Swan has two QUEEN beds in each room while the Dolphin has two DOUBLE beds. The Dolphin is a much bigger hotel so it means a longer walk to your room if you happen to be in one of the outlying rooms.

They're both great hotels but I prefer the Swan. Tubbi's is just a short walk away from the Swan and actually may be a little CLOSER depending upon where your room at the Dolphin would be. :)

The Dolphin is more festive, and may have some of the conveniences you'd be interested in like Tubbi's, the arcade, etc.
The rooms there only have one sink, and double beds.

The Swan seems more quiet, elegant and is smaller. As Michelle already mentioned, it has queen beds, which may (or may not) be an issue with your sons. There are also two sinks-one in with the tub and toilet, and one just outside. It may make it easier when getting ready to go out for the day.

It's really a toss up--both are extremely nice resorts with some great views.

Read the FAQs here on the DIS, and on Deb Will's site at www.wdwig.com.

Check out their photo gallery as well, and have fun planning!

Are either of these better for Christmas Eve? What kind of special activites, if any, do they have for the kids?

Does all the rooms at the Swan have those heavenly beds?
