Swan / Dolphin on Hotwire

Hotwire seems to change there inventory constantly. I have done a search for Hard Rock Hotel tonite and nothing. Ten minutes later all three Uni Resorts came up. Glad to hear you had so much success! And thanks for using the board.

Thanks for the info on the Universal resorts. I was checking those resorts for Easter week as well, but there was nothing.

I actually called Portofino and both PBR and RPR were booked for the week of April 20th, so I quit trying.

I finally booked Renaissance Orlando Seaworld for $69 for 2 nights on Priceline and then Dolphin for $81 on Hotwire for 4 nights. Hubby is pretty happy with me right about now!

YAHOO.... Just got the Swan for $81 a night over Thanksgiving! It does have the laundry icon listed. Now I am going to call the Swan and nicely ask if I can have them add a nonsmoking request since I have asthma. I have never stayed there before but it looks great and you can't beat the location. Heck, even with our annual passports we are paying less for the Swan than we would a moderate. Now... all I have to do is wait and wait and wait for November. Good luck to all of you who are using hotwire! And special thanks to Jim for this tip. I would never have had the nerve to use hotwire for my Disney trip if it wouldn't have been for the great info that he listed on this thread!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

FYI...
I too got the Dolphin for $81 on hotwire. I called the Dolphin to cancel a ressie for the same time letting them know I got it for less $ on hotwire. After canceling I asked to have the new ressie # reflect that I would like a nonsmoking room. The lady was so rude stating that they have no control over where the priceline and hotwire rooms are. I'd have to take whatever they give me. I called the hotwire number and talked to a gentlemen and he couldn't believe it. He put me on hold for a bit...when he came back on he said that my ressie reflected a nonsmoking room and 2 beds. He said if there's anything else I needed that the Dolphin should be able to accomodate me. He said to talk to Mary.

My 2 cents.....I will be a customer at their hotel and will get the same ammenities and services that everyone else gets, as well as the guarantee they have that you will be satisfied. It doesn't matter how inexpensive I was able to get the room for!

Hope you have a nicer person at the Dolphin!!!!!!
Steph

I have been looking up my September dates on Hotwire and all I have been getting is the Hilton or Wyndham. I'll keep trying! If sherry was able to get the Swan for November, then maybe there is hope for us!

Jim, I PM'ed you but I just figured out how to get to your site.
I got the Dolphin for April25 for 1 night at $81 and I'm really happy. The rest of our visit will be a conference, but this first night is an add on to our stay.
Thanks,
Claire

Hi Steph The person that I talked to at the 407# in the Swan Reservations Dept. was very polite. She said that she would be happy to make that notation on my reservation and they would try to accomodate me but she could not guarantee it. I didn't know that I could call hotwire directly. I am going to look for that number. Hopefully because they can accomodate me because of my asthma and I wheeze in rooms that have a strong smoke order. Thanks for the tip of calling hotwire directly. I also agree that we should be treated the same as any other paying guest. If they don't want to sell rooms at $81 a night they shouldn't put them on hotwire.

What are the restrictions on Hotwire? Do they only guarantee 1 bed like priceline? What's the worse they can give you at the Swan/Dolphin? A king bed??? We will have 4 people - me, my mom and two kids (11 and 7).

maggiew,

Your Hotwire reservation is just like Priceline: Accomodations for two in a non-smoking room.

That said, Two bed rooms far outnumber 1 bed rooms in Orlando, so they are generally very flexible. Simply call the hotel to make requests.

As for The hotel being rude about requests:
If they are rude, ask for a supervisor. You're a paying customer just like everyone else, and they should be trying to win your business over to make you a repeat regular rate customer. Also don't mention you are a Priceline/Hotwire customer; generally all they see is that you bought from a consolidator, just like Expedia, etc.

Most hotels and Hotwire take this issue seriously!

Thanks for all the comments. As always, if you win a reservation, and have time, please make a post on my board stating your dates, rate, what you bid for etc. It will greatly help others.

I'll be updated the lists sometime overnight with a few changes and additions. Disney Celebration Hotel is now participating with Hotwire it appears as well.

Hey Guys,
First question I Have is what are the icons that pop up for the dolphin or the swan that have been reported. I keep getting an icon with An R meaning a resort is which Wyndham or for 31/2 stars it says its a customer fav. My dates are august 9-15 and I would love to get that rate. Also, on hotwire and priceline it says you must be 21 to book a res but I know you can book the dolphin and the swan if your 18, so what happens then?? Any help would be appreciated

The Dolphin and Swan show up as 4 star and have the following icons: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby and Laundry. It has been going for $81.

Be careful, because there is a 3 1/2 star that comes up with the same icons.

Also keep checking back, inventory changes every day. I lucked out and booked over Easter. But then again I was checking twice a day for about 10 days straight.

I see this one with resort.....laundry and spa. It dosn't sound that Wyndham has laundry. Does anyone know which one this is, a 4 star at WDW LBV area.

It came up for $81, but up until yesterday, I see swan/dolphin came up for $156 and have different icons than this one? can this be swan/dolphin? Probably not right?

HELP!!!! THANKS VERY MUCH.

It is more than likely the Marriott World Center or Gaylord Palms, however I haven't been able to confirm for sure which one it is yet.

As for the check-in age. Hotwire/Priceline deal with many hotels where the check-in age is 21 and some that it is 18. That age still applies to Hotwire reservations. If Swan/Dolphin is 18, then it is still 18 with Hotwire.

Jim,

Thanks for the quick response.

I am a gold spg member, officially, hotwire reservations will not get upgrades. But do you know if people have received upgrades by using spg points ? Thanks again:D

I know officially the answer is no. I have heard some people who have been able to get Reward Program benefits thru Priceline/Hotwire stays with some of the chains though. I guess it all depends on the frontdesk. It never hurts to call reservations and at least add your SPG # to the ressie. Even if your room rate doesn't qualify for points, incidentals, such as the resort fee, should!
