Swan / Dolphin on Hotwire

I am getting also getting RPR for $114 which is a good deal compared to my current ressie.

For all of you looking for Swan or Dolphin on Hotwire, try different combinations of your days. Right now if I put all my days in they come up at over $200 a night, if I leave off the last night I get $81 per night, but another resort comes up for just that last night. I can get the $81 rate for the first 6 nights and then a $156 a night for the remaining 2 nights. I am not even going to try, but I am torturing myself playing with it. If all goes well this trip, I may try this for an extra trip. Don't want to risk it over Easter, and we are checking in real late the first night. Also concerned about Dolphin renovations, we are at the Swan.

You're correct! Hotwire has great availability at all the Universal Resorts (especially $114 at RPR, and $137 at HRH). The savings aren't as huge as the Swan/Dolphin, but the rates slightly beat, or are right in line with, the Entertainment rate/APH rates. THe good thing about the Uni Resorts is that they are VERY easy to identify on Hotwire so you are 100% sure of what you are getting!

Good tip! I've had several people emailing me that said they were able to get the Swan/Dolphin at $81 simply by dropping off the first or last night. They then got the Hilton ($65-70) for that one night which is an easy drive and in Downtown Disney.

Just wanted to update everyone on some changes I'd like to make this weekend!
-- I am actually going to start adding info. to the main page of the site. Not sure how much I'll get done, but I'm hoping it moves along well.
--I hope to add a few more hotels if I am able to verify the ammenities.
--I am contemplating adding unverified hotels to the list and CLEARLY marking them as such. For instance, I haven't verified the Wyndham and Marriott Orlando World Center, but I have a GOOD idea what they are. I may also add the ammenities and * level for other hotels that come up, with simply a question mark for the name, hopefully encouraging users to post if they are able to identify them.
--I have been flooded (over 100) with emails and PM's. I believe I've responded to all of them, but If I missed you, just send it again. I'm doing this myself as a hobby, and the response was huge. I've been spending about 2 hours a day, minimum, on the site. So if I don't respond to you in 24 hours, send it again. Posts to my board are a priority, followed by posts to this thread and PM's.

Thanks so much for the info. I was able to get the Dolphin for April 19-26 at $81. We were originally staying at CSR but at this price we changed our plans. We kept our first night, April 18 th at CSR though since we already paid the one nights deposit and this way we can try out CSR for our next trip.

Just checked Hotwire briefly, and April 15th-26th, as well as scattered dates in May and June are all available at that rate! I've updated the hotel lists as well as the Swan/Dolphin ammenitied which are now all verified on my site!!

Well, I took the plunge! I got the Dolphin for $81 for june 16 - 22, 2003! I am so excited. I had it booked at the teacher rate, but this is even better.

Thanks maggie, I saw the post on the site and responded! If I'm not double counting any of the success reports, we're up to over 100 nights booked at the $81 rate. Even figuring an average "normal rate" of $140 (VERY LOW), looks like we've saved around $6,000!
Hopefully these rates will stick around for awhile!

with all this bidding on hotwire, I thought I would point out for members of the rewards program www.mypoints.com that the first time you book a room through hotwire, you get 750 points 
I appears as though the Swan is now available for !!everyday!! in June! I've got the updated ammenities you should look for on my list.

We just got the Swan!!!
We were planning on splitting a stay at AKL with CR for 12 nights but saved a total of $2117 for the two rooms with our hotwire bid. The price was $81 and same amentiites as you had listed for June 1-13. I tried a few days ago and was getting $114 a night I think. I can get $129 per night with RN discount but the extra $48 per night per room over 12 nights saves us $1152 over the RN rate. We may miss seeing the animals but just couldn't pass up the savings! Thanks so much for your help. Oh, after I reserved the 2 rooms I called reservations to add a request for connecting rooms as we are 2 adults and 4 kids. They added it with no problem and were VERY nice. And they knew I got the hotel on hotwire. Now to read up on the Swan!!
