Hello, all. New member here. I've never been to Disney World but my wife has. We would like to go next year with a 13-year old and a 4-year old. My wife is a nurse. Is the special rate for nurses at the Swan or Dolphin a pretty good deal? If you were choosing, where would you stay? Is it worth the extra money to stay at one of the deluxe on-site resorts?

First 3 of 1,000,000 questions.

Thanks!!!

Since the Dolphin and moderates resorts would be the same price with your discount. I would opt for the deluxe. The location and pool is great. The only thing I miss is the food court. I would definately research each resort carefully and then decide. Have a great trip.:D :D :D

The Dolphin has a more festive feel to it, where the Swan seems more refined and elegant.

At the Swan you get queen size beds, at the Dolphin, doubles. At the Swan you get what is called a "hollywood bath" meaning there are two sinks, one inside with the tub and toilet, the other just outside the BR door. The Dolphin just has one sink, but has another area directly across from that where another member of your family can apply make-up or style their hair.

We've stayed at both now (we qualify for the Govt. discount) and I think it is an exceptional value! Why settle for a moderate when you can have a deluxe!

The transportation options are still the same as if you were staying at a WDW resort. The location of the Swan and Dolphin is superb, and one of the better choices within WDW, in my opinion.

I love the Swan. I use the nurses discount and feel that I get a great deal. The location is perfect for me since I love Epcot. I can take a boat there and walk back along the boardwalk. The pool is one of the best I have ever seen. Even though I love the S/D if I could afford it I would stay at the Poly concierge each time, I would. But since I can not thank god for the nurses diacout at the S/D.
