Merry Christmas to all! I made it through Brendan's birthday with some of my sanity relatively intact.

We spent most of the day running around in circles, trying to surprise the boys with the new bunkbeds that my parents and I bought for them for Christmas. My friends came over and "helped" me put them together (helped, hell - I helped THEM...a little), and then we had to pick up mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows...whew! When I finally allowed the boys back into the house after 10:00 last night, they FREAKED OUT...they were so happy, they even CLEANED THEIR ROOM today!

I am so relieved this day is almost OVER - I'm exhausted! Happy that the boys are happy with their gifts...and happy that I didn't have to drive any long distance!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day - on to 2004!

I had a great Christmas...I'm terribly exhausted.....I'm still in my jammies today....new ones with mickey mouse all over them .....I'm not getting dressed today....I'm relaxing on the couch all day.....its wonderful!!
My puppy Ruben is exhausted today too.....all he's done is sleep

We had a nice day too...my mom is doing so well....psycho siblings acted OK......everyone seemed happy with what Santa got them.....but boy, do I wish I was in my jammies today.
I figured I had to get up for work anyway, so why don't I get up 1/2 hour earlier than usual and hit Target before work for the 50% off wrapping for next year (don't know WHY I felt the need to do this since I've already decided I will NOT be home for Christmas next year hehehehe...guess I will use the gift bags/wrap if I get anyone anything before or after my escape trip )
Anyway...I arrive at Target (only a few minutes from my house thank goodness) for what I THOUGHT was 6 am opening. Wrong. They don't open til 7. So I go home, have another cup of tea, sit for 40 minutes and try to match the pile of receipts to the MasterCard bill ( ) that just came. Then back to Target at 7, $40 for gift bags and such, and oh this cute little cotton scatter rug that matches some cute paper plates/napkins and plastic serving bowls with cute snowmen and snowflakes...for tomorrow...which is Xmas with MIL and stepkids and grandbabies...
I was at work by eight...home at 4 to DD just arriving from her first solo ride back from MAssachusetts where she spent last night with my ex....there are shopping bags of STUFF everywhere.....it's a mess ....12 big people and 4 grandbabies tomorrow afternoon I'll make a ham and some salad...DH is making his yummy potato salad right now....need to clear floor and seating space though.

Cookie...I was LOL at the boy's cleaning their room in honor of the new beds hate to tell ya though it won't last. At least in my experience Glad you had a nice day!

the big mouth sometimes works well.........told my dear brother to call his dear mother....or else.......and reminded him that mom is almost 90 and just because she upset him one day a year .....to remember I put up with it the other 300 plus days a year.....he did call her today ...he is vacationing in Mexico with his wife.....then my hubbies uncle who is all alone except our MIL and we took her and went to the nursing home.....he can't talk or walk but he sure can smile and seeing it was fantastic.......we just got back from the hospital and my sister is doing amazing.......she is on just barely oxygen and is doing fantastic......she took three walks today and I bet she will be home before next wed....life is soooooo good........but remember people.........she is recovering from lung cancer.......probably enhanced from her smoking all these years.......I love her and I love you guys too....so if you smoke please try to stop......the national quit smoking day is coming up soon........Happy Holidays to all my dear dear cheerleaders and visitors

We had a nice day too...not "relaxing" with a 2 yr old & 16 month old running around and the 2 yr old's 5 month old baby sister but fun!
One down side was that one of my stepsons (that had been estranged from us all for quite some time until a few weeks ago) had originally said they'd come with their 4 week old...then decided not to...he is still not on best of terms with his sister and one of the brothers..........we were hoping everyone could just be together and avoid the ones they still have issues with, but it was not to be, I suppose it's better than having a big argumetn or something.
pumba, you gave me a good idea....I will go have my new favorite "cocktail"....caffiene free-Diet Coke and Bacardi Limon rum.

OH AND I FORGOT TO TELL YOU WHAT MT GRANDBABIES AND DIL AND DSS GOT ME FOR CHRISTMAS!!! A DISNEY PHONE!!! It's red!! It has a talk button shaped like mickeyhead!! Cordless, caller ID etc....but BEST OF ALL!!! SIX (6!!)) Disney ringtones!!

The B&B and Under the Sea ringers do not seem to work but the others do. It's set on IASW for now, but I like the Zip-a dee-do-da too. OH...and when you hit the pager on the base...the phone says (in Mickey's voice) "hey pal!! over here!" ROTFLOL DH and DD are rolling their eyes at me....I'm easily amused I guess

hello everyone!

i know...slacker poster! i was a zombie all weekend! my sister and her hubby got to our house at about 9pm on christmas night...we hung out for an hour or so then headed out. got to mom and dad's at about 1am. my parents still had no clue we were coming so early. so, my brother is in the driveway when we get here...he's going to be our decoy. he tries to call mom and dad using the cell phone to get them outside. he was going to tell them there was some big dog that was scaring him and he couldn't get out of his car. (if you knew my brother, you would know that was a big bunch of bullhonky) mom and dad don't answer the phone for whatever reason so he goes inside and tells them that there's some scary dog outside. out come mom and dad...meanwhile, we're all crouched down behind mom's car. when the door opened, we shooed cindy's dog (kylie) out into the yard. we hear dad say "it's a beagle" and then mom saying that it was "ky-pooh" (our nickname for the dog)...they were all very surprised to see us! so we go inside and pretend to sleep for about 20 minutes while we wait for the traditional cues before opening our presents. went back to bed for all of 4 hours...then got up and played all day. we did go see the lord of the rings movie (AWESOME!) that night. then matthew and i headed home...i spent all day saturday on the couch sleeping...

was santa good to everyone???

i got a ring from dh! it's a heart shaped stone in a heart shaped setting (matches my wedding rings theme!) and the stone changes colors! it's weird...right now it's purple...other times it's more pink or blue or green. it's very pretty though! and i got one of those bubble mat thingies for the bath tub too. word of advice...do not put bubble bath in the tub when using the bubble mat thingy. or we may see you on the next episode of When Bubbles Attack!

other than that...we got lots of stuff for the house. appliances, towels, etc. i also got a sewing machine! mom gave me a lesson on sewing while we were there on friday. i actually sewed a pair of pajama pants. i'm attempting to make the matching top. i'm not a natural born sewer...lol...but it's coming along.


forgive me, as i can't remember who asked me...but someone on the last page asked me where i found the time to type such long posts...lol...you guys forget...i go to work so i can DIS! i don't do much of anything else while i'm there...might as well type looooooooooong posts!

love the new year's ensemble on ya SSB...and the kiddo's are adorable!


gotta run for now!!! plan to type more later though!!!
