I just slightly modified the link to the photo in order to get it to display. It took a couple of tries, but I'm a true hacker at heart. :)

you know...mine was the same pic as TC's and it WAS THERE before....then it wasn't...then it was and then it wasn't again......must be elf magic  ;)

Marie, I hope by now you have gotten good news about your sister's surgery, and that she will have a speedy recovery. Prayers for you and your sister & the rest of your family. :grouphug:

Brandie - sooo...how's the new house? Like it much? ;)

Sorry I've been missing in action lately - not only is it Christmas in two days, TOMORROW is Brendan's birthday - EEK!!! He's been in such a funk lately (should I even mention that, or would that be too "soap opera-ish" of me  ), and he just told me yesterday that a friend of his who he's known since we moved into town 6 or 7 years ago...well, let's just say that her parents have a problem with anyone who has a better tan than they do. I'm so ANGRY, but I know there's nothing I can do for ignorant people. He thinks his friendship with her is in jeopardy, but since she's been friendly for this long, I don't see why this issue is cropping up now. UGH!!!!!! Some people! I'm hoping that his birthday and Christmas will cheer him up some...poor baby. :(

Even though I'm not here every day, you are all never far from my thoughts. You're all so special to me - I consider myself blessed that we have met, some in real life, others only online (but hopefully someday, at WDW!). I don't know what I'd do without you guys. I want to wish everyone here the happiest of holiday seasons - Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwaanza, and a toast to continued friendships, happiness and good health in 2004!

Good news that I just had to share. My DS James passed his driving test today. He can now officially drive solo. I think that's good news. At least he's really happy. We visit the auto insurance office on Friday to officially put him on our policy. Yikes.

mine was the same too...it was there at first, then it disappeared...

i'm gonna post my holiday wishes tomorrow...so make sure y'all peek in!

It turns out that by changing "i.imdb.com" to "www.imdb.com" was the trick to making the photo link work.

Hi Gail!! ((hugs)) to Brendan....what a shame about his friend's parents. Makes me angry too :( I love how you expressed how you feel about about all of us....and I feel the same way....:)

pumba, Prayers and PD for your sister!!

TC--congrats to James. Yikes....the insurance increase right when the Christmas bills come due...unless of course James is paying, if so then pass the "yikes" along to him with my congrats ;)
Our deal here was we would put DD on our policy, keep her car in my name with her as primary driver of it and we pay for the insurance...she pays for upkeep of the car and gas and registration. And if she does anything to cause an increase in the insurance, (which she did last week :( ) she has to pay the additional premium amount as well as the deductible on the damage. She will be getting a job after the holidays...she's been livign off her savings from her job last summer but with the increases she will need to get a job. Since she's done with the college app "crunch" she should be able to fit that in!

Went over to the RB to check out Mr SwanDolphin's post and what do I see??? A Poohlovr thread--she just got home! Well..."home" home to KY, not home here to the thread obviously ;) Though I intend to hassle her about neglecting her loyal subjects and not stopping here first. :teeth:

so Sue is home and didn't come here first
whats up with that?

very nicely expressed Gail and ditto!!

Congrat to James....knowing him....I'm kind of glad I live waaaaay over here ;) j/k
and I won't bother to fix my picture....SSb already has yours ....he doesn't need 3 .....or does he ;)

Justin's waiting for the puter...so I'm off

Congrats to DS, Mr. TC!

How about the Poohlovr.... haha! Even sent the rascal a couple of emails as felt bad about not seeing her whilst here... and she is giving poor old SSB the cold shoulder... or perhaps has me on the ignore list.... haha!

Trust SSB, any picture of Zooey counts... I don't have any weird "elf" fetish... haha! ;)

good morning :wave2:

Merry Christmas Eve!!!! :Pinkbounc

dh and i made our daily freaking trek to lowe's and then to home depot last night. i am oh so done with those places! anywho...we went to lowe's first. dh has this brilliant idea and wants to do the crown moulding in the house. so we go to purchase MDF instead of the already made/put together/whatever crown moulding. we get our paint (for the trim work and moulding) and misc supplies, then we head over to lumber to get the MDF. lowe's doesn't freaking sell MDF!!!! (i'm wondering if that's why trading spaces and the while you were out show switched over to home depot as their supplier for their shows!) so, we make our purchases anyway and then head over to home depot. we get to home depot and what do we see? a compound mitre saw. and what do we need that for? supposedly, this contraption will make MY life easier somehow. i haven't quite figured that one out yet. but this thing's on sale for $69. now, keep in mind...i have finished christmas shopping for dh. but he decides that he MUST have it. but here's the funny part of the story...my parents have purchased some kind of saw for dh for christmas. only, i can't remember if it's a circular or a mitre saw. so...get out the cell phone and call mom and dad. not home. try their cell phone. my brother has it and he's not with them. fine. so i hang up. end up calling my brother back and asking him...does he know which saw mom and dad got for motthew. he *thinks* it's the circular. ok. i hang up and the mitre saw finds it's way to the cart. i'm still not 100% sure that we're buying the right one. so i try mom and dad's again. still no answer. so i call brother again. we chat for about 10 minutes trying to remember what it was that's already been purchased. he finally says that he's about 5 minutes from home so he'll check when he gets there. he gets there and calls me. all the presents are wrapped. ugh. he's pretty sure he knows which one is the saw. so i tell him to pull open one of the ends so we can see what it is. he does so and i hear "oh s***!" thankfully the package was tagged for matthew, but it wasn't the saw. (brother wouldn't tell me what it was either!) we give up after about 10 minutes of guessing which one *might* be the saw. i tell matthew that he's to "play stupid" on christmas when he opens the saw. i can't believe i told him, but i had no choice. he couldn't understand why i wouldn't buy him the saw to begin with! i had to confess...ok, we buy the dumb saw, along with 7 sheets of MDF, load it into the car and head home. we're heading down the highway and realize it's now 8:30. we decide to run through the wendy's drive thru. get our food and are headed back onto the highway.

you still with me?

so we're on the highway...the entrance ramp merges with another exit ramp...two lanes...those who want 37N, get in the right hand lane, those for 69N, left lane. shouldn't be a big deal, right? well, this jerk who is in the lane we need (left) speeds up and won't let us in, even though we have our blinker on. he finally moves ahead of us and we creep over only to discover that he's getting into the right lane now! so matthew, being the polite driver he is, lays on his horn to signla that this guy has ticked him off and apparantly doesn't know how to drive. i happen to turn and look at the guy and he's giving me a beautiful salute. ahem. so being the proper lady that i am...i salute him right back . :teeth: matthew tells me he hopes that wasn't his boss...lol

we finally make it home...MDF hanging out the back of the car and all...unload, eat, and i am preparing to paint another wall. well, let's just say i was slightly distracted. FOX was rerunning the american idol christmas special. how could i pass up the chance to watch CLAY on tv. hubby groaned. i told him that since i had to buy him the saw, i could watch CLAY if i wanted too...he gave in and went out to the garage.

i got half the wall taped off (the trim) and realized it was now 10pm. no painting tonight...

so now we have a list 12 miles long to do before my sister and brother in law arrive tomorrow night. paint walls, cut trim, prime trim, paint trim, hang trim, and clean up the house. merry christmas to me.

at least i'll get to watch CLAY on tv tomorrow morning! woo hoo! he's on good morning america and the Disney parade. merry christmas to me!!

are you still with me? or did i lose everyone in that loooooooooong post? lol

ok...i decided to start a new post...in case your eyes have since glazed over from the last one...

i forgot to mention...while i was sitting at home, mesmerized by CLAY, my cell phone rings. it's my mom! it's now almost 10pm!! i answer it with "it's about time!" she says that she came home to an opened christmas present for matthew with a note on top "call brandie and she'll explain everything"...mom had a pretty good laugh over it all...oh, and it turns out that they got him the circular saw...not the mitre saw...phew!

so, in between painting and moulding, this will be the first year that i haven't gone to my parent's house first thing christmas morning. :( my sister's dh is on call until about noon (1pm my time) but my mom doesn't know that he found someone to take over his on call at noon! mom thinks that they won't be leaving kansas city until nearly midnight on christmas night. sis and her dh will come through indy, pick us up, and we'll head up to mom and dad's...we should be getting there about the time that mom thinks they're leaving kansas city! we're so excited to surprise her!! she'll be thrilled to pieces...christmas has always been important to her and my dad. it'll be awesome to give her such a wonderful surprise this year!

just wanted to echo gail's sentiments...you guys are truly special and i am thankful i stumbled into this "house"! thanks for being such amazing, supporting, and friendly people!!! i hope that all of your christmas wishes come true for you this holiday...

merry christmas!!

Here are some pre-Christmas smiles on little faces that might be familiar to some of you...though they do have hair...they don't have size umpteen tennis shoes on.....and they have grown so much since I met them a couple of summers ago at a wonderful party at the lemonade stand! :)
