I'm new to getting my AP magnet, so I need some guidance, please. I know the store I go to in Animal Kingdom (I forget the name, but it's in Discovery Island). Is there a time that's lower wait time? I ask because they were doing a magnet pick-up in Epcot last year, and the line was sooo long. Also, I really want the Crush magnet-"Finding Nemo" is one of my favorite movies-but we aren't scheduled to go to AK until the last day of magnet distribution. Do they ever sell out of magnets? If so, maybe I should make a special trip earlier in the week. Thanks-I'm so excited for this!

I don't know all your answers but the line should move very quickly.

Also be sure to have your ID with you as they can be sticklers about that sometimes.

We went yesterday. In the morning, 11 ish, the line was very long, past Flame Tree Barbecue! At 2 in the afternoon, the line was very short. We had the magnet in 5 minutes!


If at all possible, I would go earlier than the last day of distribution! I have offered our second magnet to other friends, otherwise I could offer it as a backup for you.

Thanks for the info! That's why I'm glad I asked. I would have expected that the line would be shorter in the morning, as people hurried to the rides, then got their magnets later. I guess I didn't know the magnets were a high priority to people other than me

Not sure what your dates are. But I’ve found weekends tend to have the really long lines. We’ve gotten ours on weekdays with no waiting, usually late morning or early afternoons.

We went at 2pm today and there was no line — we walked up, validated our ID’s and received our magnets in less than a minute.

Not sure what your dates are. But I’ve found weekends tend to have the really long lines. We’ve gotten ours on weekdays with no waiting, usually late morning or early afternoons.

Sounds like it would definitely be best to change my plans. I'll be at WDW the last week Crush will be available, the last week in September, and our plan was to go to AK the very last day the magnet will be available, Saturday, September 27th. But since that's a weekend, it sounds like a trip earlier in the week for my magnet is in my plans. Besides-I love Animal Kingdom, so I don't mind an extra trip while DH is golfing.

Respectfully, you are over-thinking it. The longest I have ever waited in line for an AP magnet is less than five minutes and I have gone on plenty of weekends. I picked up the most recent magnet on the final available day at Epcot (a saturday) and there were exactly zero people in line for it. In my experience, the only time any limited Disney item has a long line to get, its the first day it becomes available. After that, the lines get better. So if I were in your shoes, I wouldn;t modify my vacay plans for the magnet line
