I think I'm going to TRY to start feeling better today ...sigh.
The sun is out, it's a pretty day. (Why am I in the house in the dark basement? oh yea, gotta say hello to my DISfriends!)

DH went out to cut wood at Avery & Delaney's house...why is it so many of his "chores" are things he LIKES to do
while I have the thrill of laundry, grocery shopping and housecleaning? And as pumba so nicely reminded me...the plastic deck furniture and planter "stuff" to be put away...........

DD is going to carve pumpkins and "eat junk food" with the girlfriends this afternoon...they are beginning to realize that they will not be together this time next year and are frantically "making memories" ...last Friday night they realized it was the "last Friday night home football game" of their high school years  and last night they went to an away game...I don't think she'd ever been to an away regular season game before!

Debbie, we should get in our cars and meet somewhere in between the two of us...a Mall or something...and eat and shop...we'd feel better!

Rambling....
happy Saturday to all!

that sounds like fun Ann...except I'm one of those drivers that doesn't drive far from home alone unless I KNOW where I'm going.

I just can't feel better yet...they were so close...and I could feel it....and I have been watching and waiting for over 30 years....I think the reason I'm so broken hearted is that they REALLY could have done it....had the manager played it right ....they could have and probably would have won....
if the Yankees had out played the SOX or truely were a better team and deserved it....it wouldn't feel as bad.

NOW I won't mention this again...I know I'm boring all you non baseball people ;)

Back to house work now... yay!!!

:( :( :( :(
I got some really sad news this afternoon. One of my female childhood friends called me from Massachusetts to tell me that a male high school classmate of ours died suddenly Wednesday. Apparently he was found on the floor of his kitchen after his mom and co-workers could not reach him for a day or so. (He had been living alone). Autopsy results are inconclusive pending some more studies or tests I guess. He was only 46, active and healthy lifestyle
He was a big tough hockey player exterior with a teddy-bear personality and wonderful smile. At my 25th HS reunion a few years ago, he had the same smile ...and our circle of friends (a dozen or so guys and girls) just picked up where we'd left off all those years ago with an evening of laughter and fun. My DH remarked at how much he enjoyed meeting this guy..... was so friendly and interested in catching up with all of us, including meeting our spouses. He had never married, a couple of serious relationships that never worked out and no kids of his own..... but will be sadly missed by his family and friends and co-workers and the youth hockey kids he coached. I plan to drive down Monday after work to go to the wake.
Well, another reminder I guess of how you never know what tomorrow will bring...or if tomorrow will come!
Hug your loved ones....and ((hugs)) to all of you!

the Yankees lost last night :( poor things .....

NOT!!!!

So sorry to hear about your friend Ann...that is too sad and yes, a reminder of how you just never know :(

Thanks Debbie.

I too was pleased when I saw the final score this morning...DH refused to even watch it.....I had it on while DISing a little when we got back from a visit to Avery and Delaney.

We are going to do the Breast Cancer Walk this afternoon.....5 miles  I am SOO out of shape...2 or 3 I'd be fine but it's been awhile since I've done a 5 mile walk.........must picture walking from Dolphin...to Epcot all the way to Spaceship Earth, back to Boardwalk, over to MGM........and back ...too bad no trip to the Grotto pool hot tub when I'm done ;) :teeth:

NHAnn hobbles in to say hello ;)

Actually not as bad as I thought......a little sore in the hip especially left...not sure why, I thought it would be my knees. We'll see how it feels in the morning
There were 2500 walkers locally who raised almost 270,000! Dozens of teams...our team raised the 2nd highest amount in this location! :teeth:

Hi All! How are you? This weekend flew by real fast.

Ann hope you feel better soon! I too was glad to see the Marlins beat them Yanks - they are losing right now though .... come on Marlins!!

Deb - I am getting a Malibu!!! I go to sign papers tomorrow night and bring my car home - it is a 2001. Here is a link http://www.carmax.com/dyn/factsheet/factsheet.asp?id=1999521&pageType=4

You said you did research on them - that are great cars, right?

Hi Christine, how was your weekend???

I was just sitting here reading the paper while DH flipped between the WS game and the Bruins game on locally...and I must have seen the Soutwest advertisement 3 times in 30 minutes...$79 one way to FL..............sigh....................
Boy would I love a few days at WDW or even at the beach.............

My weekend was great! Disney was lots of fun - MK was packed but that was to be expected since it was a Saturday! Then went to look at the Malibu today. How was your weekend?

Good morning.........
I'm leaving work early this afternoon to drive down for that wake :( :(

have a nice day everyone..........

Prayers for the family Ann and you too Ann

Thats great Christine...good for you. I did do some research but mostly on the 04's ....they are completely different from prior year models. I do think I saw some info on earlier models that showed them to be reliable.
Your link didn't work or rather it worked but the car was no longer in stock....must be cuz you bought it :D you'll have to take a picture and post it...you know how to do that

so where has everyone else been this weekend...time to check in let us know.
I still have a terrible cold and feeling tired but I'm still working

Try to have a good Monday everyone

Ann, so sorry to hear of your high school friend. :( {HUGS} to you.

Even though you sent me that picture... ;)

Debbie, you KNOW I love me some Clay Aiken - I haven't bought the CD yet (surprise, surprise), but I'm sure I'll love it. I taped the Early Show, but forgot to tape the View (DOH! I was trying to get tickets to go SEE the show for over a month - you'd think I'd remember at least to tape it!) :p I was so thrilled when he sang the National Anthem for the 1st game of the Series. He's such a cutie. :)

Woohoo - Mssss - getting a new car! :bounce: Post a picture of it when you can.

Shhhhh...Pumba...the "s" word is a dirty, four-letter word that needs to be put on the filters around here. ;)

Howdy to everyone else - time to get to work.

Oh Gail...did he sing "I will carry you" on the Early Show? I think that is what I heard he was singing. I loooooove that song and I would love to watch him singing it.....and I could cry that I blew my vidio recording by taping the wrong channel. I bet it was wonderful to watch!!
The CD is really good. I have never flipped for any singer like I have for him. I'll be as bad as you and BM ;) And if he ever comes touring around here I'll be there. I did watch him sing at the beginning of the World Series....those darn planes had to fly over head and drown him out....how rude
Make sure if you hear of him being on TV...post here just in case I missed it!! :D I already know he'll be on the American music awards...can't wait for that.
I wish he would do his own Christmas CD. Can you just hear him singing Oh Holy Night ::yes::

morning :wave2:

sending along some prayer and pixie dust your way ann...

congrats on the car christine!! DH and i only have one car between the two of us. it works for us seeing as how we work less than 2 miles apart and our schedules are the same. but once we get into the house, i think that we're going to get a second vehicle. a truck!! we'll need it for all that "working around the house" stuff we have to get at home depot...;)

speaking of the house...we went up there on saturday. there were no workers there so we got to walk around inside the house!! :hyper: the frame looks like it's done, for the most part anyway. the roof is up...we even have windows now!! the doors will be installed soon, i hope...it was a bit drafty in there! we even have a roof over our front porch now too!! and our bathtubs were in the garage!!! the regular bathtub is for the hall bath, but i get the big garden tub in my bathroom...::yes:: :bounce: i have pictures, but i didn't upload them from my camera yet. i think we're on about workday number 8 or so...

sending along some healing pixie dust to you debbie!! it's too early for colds!!!!! i have been a little more stuffy when i wake up in the mornings though...yick...

hope everyone has a good day!!

Deb, check out this site - they have a section for TV appearances that is updated pretty frequently, I think.

http://www.clayaiken.com

I Will Carry You - he sang that during the end of the show, so half the screen had credits rolling by. I love that song, and Invisible...saw the American Idol tour this summer, and you couldn't believe the screaming! :earseek: And it was me doing the screaming...hehe, of course you all know I'm way too cool and collected to do that. :smooth:

Do you have any radio stations in your area that do the "Jingle Ball"? Clay is performing at the Jingle Ball in other states, according to word on the street, so I guess it would mean he'll perform at all of them. It seems there's a group of stations around the country that are part of the same...uh...syndication, I guess? The station in this area is Z100 - it's a BIIIIG NY station. There'll be other artists performing, too...but who cares? ;)

Sorry guys - we'll stop hijacking this as the Clay Aiken Fan Club thread soon, I promise!!

Just noticed my post count - how kewl is dat? ;)

thanks for the link Gail...I will check that out!!
I don't know about the radio thingie...I haven't heard

yea sorry guys....we can't help ourselves :teeth:
We love Clay We love Clay!!
My husband and my sons think I'm
