wow...8am and i'm the first one here? good grief!!!! wake up you guys!!!!!!

:teeth:

Yawn. :o

Today was the first day of school. DW Sue and kids were up at 6AM. By the time I rolled out of bed, the kids were dressed for school and had eaten breakfast. James went back to sleep on the couch. Sarah, on the other hand, couldn't wait for the bus to arrive.

The school year has started. The major downside is that, for some reason, my 25 minute commute to work now takes 45 minutes. Someone at work figured that it's because everyone has to wait for their kids to get on the bus and we all leave for work at the same time. Drat.

And my big TV is broken (again). The kids noticed it a couple of days ago, but they didn't mention it to me. Thank goodness for extended service plans. As reliable as my previous Pioneer TV set was, this one averages one service call a year. Pity party at the Towncrier house.

PD for TC and his TV :teeth:

Today is my Friday too :teeth:
and I'm going camping tomorrow morning to Strawberry Park in Connecticut...fun place !!!
and I won't be back till Monday so I'll have to make sure to get back here today!!

Hi There!

new to the thread but I had a question.

I plan on staying at the swan 1 night in Nov using points and $60 for an award night. What type of view should I request and when do I request? I'll ask this on resorts too but I figured the Cheerleaders could help me.

Thanks Cheryl

welcome to the cheerleader house cheryl! i wish i could answer your question, but alas, i have yet to stay at the swan or the dolphin! lol...go figure...hopefully one of these folks on here will be able to help you!

thank you debbie! :)

Hi Cheryl
keeping in mind that I have only stayed in studios at the Swan on the 5th floor and once on the 3rd facing the front.........
I would request an epcotview ...you'd need to be pretty high up though as the BW would be in the way of lower views.
Other wise you could get a ToT view ......Or a resortview would have you facing the Dolphin....which I happen to like. The highest floor I have ever stayed on is the 5th cuz I always wanted a balcony and they are mostly only on the wings
My next trip I plan on requesting a high floor and I 'll skip the balcony for a change.....the view from the high floors has to be nice no matter where you are.

Happy Birthday Brandie!
Happy Camping Debbie!
Hi TC!!
Happy Labor Day weekend to all.

Cherylp3--have you actually booked your room yet? I haven't stayed at the Swan, just the Dolphin, so I'm not sure of the actual categories of views at the Swan. The reservationsists can help with that....or maybe others here or on the RB. The Swan is smaller than Dolphin so there are fewer rooms with views of Epcot, if that is what you are seeking. Glo's FAQ thread on the RB has a LOT of info about room categories and such. I would ask general questions at booking and book what appeals to you, then you can always ask at check-in what the view is like, and then ask if anything upgraded or different is available if you don't like the sound of it. As Debbie said, the higher up the better for a view in general!! Have fun!!! And stop by here anytime! :)

My computer needs a checkup....still running Windows 98, my Macafee virucide is totally out of date and no longer eligible for free updates  the pink haze on the monitor is here more often than not...disk defragmenter will not run.....the whole thing seems sluggish... DD is moaning and now that school has started I better figure out what to do before it just dies or freezes or the monitor totally goes out  ........just what I wanted to do on my day off tomorrw......struggle explaining to someone who knows what they are talking about about something I don't know how to explain......uughh

I, on the other hand, always request an Epcot facing balcony on as high a floor as possible ( think the highest I've gotten was the 8th, because it is non-smoking. Michelle got a smoking room on the 9th).

Love my Epcot view balcony. Isn't that the East wing??

At the Swan one year, got a TOT facing balcony, but, was not as impresed, because, the restaraunt (sp????) jutted out underneath that area and our best view was of the top of that. Not too attractive, altho, I guess if you looked straight ahead and tried to ignore that bog thing, the view was pretty.

Now, having said all of that, this December, we won't have a balcony. Man, I'll m iss that thing.

SSBob is going to Toronto and then goin' Cruisin'. Man never stays home.

couldn't he cruise thru here first to say good by....sheeeesh!!

Ann, my computer has been sluggish for a long time but its still going. My boys tell me I need a new one....this one will have to get a lot worse before I get a new one. I know mine would be fine if I knew how to fix error messages and I hate talking to tech support...I make Jerry do it...or if I'm on the phone with the techie I repeat everything out loud and Jerry does it ;) I can never find anything

I suppose I should have added earlier that I think I have grown to prefer the Dolphin...unless I'm getting a corner studio at the Swan
Heck I'd sleep on a lounge chair just to be there ;)

I suggested he do that very thing. Who knows if he will??

So, tonight, we finally went to see P.O.C.--WOW!!! What a great movie. Even Justin (Who did not want to go see it, hence the delay in getting there) said "It was better than I thought it would be" and now wants to be Capt Jack Sparrow for Halloween.
He was even doing some "stunts" pretending to be Capt Jack after the movie.

I make Jerry do it...

I do the same thiing--except I make Mike do it, instead of Jerry. However, during my hiatus from the thread, we bought a new 'puter (great plan at work to buy Gateways at a discount and pay through payroll deduction). I gave the one I had (which is still good, but, we really wanted one of these flat panel monitor thingies) to the boys and sold theirs to a monitor tech at work.

So, the new puter, along with the cable modum lets me just speed along.

So, I wonder if Gail is home from WDW yet???

I guess that I'm going to be the last DISer to see Pirates. Even though DD Sarah has seen it THREE times, I've yet to make it to the movie theater. I've heard all about how great it is. I suppose I'll wait until I can buy it on DVD (since the copy that I found online is corrupt). Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.

oh yea...Gail should be back :)

My son comes home tomorrow too :)

No TC....I haven't seen it yet either  I really do want to

and I'm off to bed...if I get a chance in the morning I'll check in to say good by......if not I'll see you on Monday!!

btw Sue....it sure is great to come here and see you here....just want to make sure you know that ;)
