Swan/Dolphin Cheerleaders, the longest-running thread of the CB continues...

Yes have reservationat the Swan , I got $60 a nite and 4000 starpoints.

I requested a heavenly bed ( those are awesome) and a high floor. I didn't get anything back. Should I have ? My reservation is 64 days out.

okey...just for giggles....I have not been to a movie since Sister Act came out.....now that was ions ago.......
Have not stayed at the Swan....but have been I think four or five times at the Dolphin.....we really enjoyed the calmness of the hotel....it was not a run run run place.......getting ready for our holiday weekend....tomorrow is out for sleeping late.....we have to get an early start cause we are going to NH for a cookout at my brother in laws place....I have to bring tossed salad for 25...so hubby is going to farmers mkt and get the rest of the veggies...only got 4 heads of lettuce .........now to find a big enough recepticle to keep this salad in.....hope the weather is nice tomorrow......sitting here eating one of my night time red tootsie roll pop....need to get my order out for my hot rice crackers....have not had time to do that ....then I wanted my blood test to be perfect...so no garbage food for those three months....."ain't I good"?

I have never heard of anyone getting a reply to those requests. I guess you can call the 800 # and make sure the request is shown on your reservation.
However, I always ask for my "wish list" when I'm checking in. I've never requested anything ahead of time, nor have I ever asked for anything and not gotten it (even when staying through Priceline several years ago).

I haven't seen POC yet either

I called the 'puter place, they said bring it to them Tuesday afternoon and they will service it and sell me a new monitor. We may be without it for "up to 3 days" I knew I shouldv;e done it during the summer...BAD mommy!!!
The LCD flat monitors are more than double the price of the CRTs (I scoped out BestBuy too and their prices were about the same as quoted by the "puter place) so I think we will go with the cheaper................DD will have to be getting a laptop to take to college within a year...... sigh
Do you guys look at "big ticket" items like computer and furniture and car repairs and such, and calculate how many nights at the Dolphin you could have for that $$$? LOL

Cheryl, I believe all the beds are "Heavenly Beds" at the Swan. I guess I would do what Poohlovr does and ask when you check in for something high with a nice view.

Hi everyone!

We had a great time last week, of course. A little rain here and there...and here...and there...and here...did I mention we had rain at some point every day? I was so glad I remembered to pack those ponchos...we even got to ride Dumbo one day because it POURED down rain and people scattered. We ran to do our fastpass Pooh ride, and when we came out, there were only 5 people on line for Dumbo, and the rain was just stopping. It's the first time we've ridden, and the boys (who originally thought they were too cool to ride Dumbo) had a blast. Less than 5 minutes and we were on - that'll never happen again...

I sent along a video postcard to Ms. Poohsie from Mission Space, but I guess you never got it?? The boys rode that - Mom chickened out.

We finally got Devin to go on Rock N Roller Coaster - he didn't really like it, but was too afraid to say he hated it...we'll see what happens next time. We all went on Splash Mountain - first time for me and Devin - I even bought the picture as proof!

Got to see a few people on this trip - thanks for hanging out with us, Msss! Ran into allicat and another DIS'er who has 5LittleAngels in her name...I think her name was Deb. We also spotted the elusive SSB - so fear not, he's still alive and kicking.

Sounds like a great trip in spite of the rain. Dumbo was the first ride DD and I did on our first trip to WDW in 1993. Got there for opening went straight there and waited about 15 minutes I think! Then never rode it ever again since, because of the lines If Miss Poohsie got the e-card, she didn't share
Did you like Splash?? Did the boys like Mission Space?

and am I the only cheerleader who has NOT done RnR ?

I have done RnR but hate hate Splash mt.....so try it and you will be fine....I am mega chicken......

Yay Christine! I don't think I would ever get on it either. Took the family several years and several trips to get me on Space Mountain and BTM (though I've always loved Splash!) . But the upside down thingie...fuggedabouddit!

I like R'n R. Haven't been able to get Justin on it yet (cause of the upside down thingie), but, Shawn loves it. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BTMRR, like Space a lot, like Splash a whole lot (till the drop. don't like TOT AT ALL, but, have ridden it several times (scared to death each time) and now I can't wait to try Mission Space. Shawn and I plan on that being our first ride in December. Justin and Mike are reserving judgement (Mike says he gets too dizzy...yeah, right, CHICKEN).

Ann--thank you so much. So very nice of you and Debbie to say that. Gee--you'd think it was almost my birthday or sumpin' ya'll are being so nice.

My friend Gail from work came over yesterday. It was raining really hard when she was leaving, so, she ran out to her car...slipped....fell....and broke her foot.
Did I mention she was in the middle of moving, cause she and her BF of 17 yrs broke up???
Guess what Mike and I go to do tonight?? Yep. Finish moving her things.....

Me too! And last time in June, I wouldn't go on it. Went shopping instead (got Mady's Princess dress) while DH and DD did both RnR and ToT. I had the best time!

i think dan would look cute with those pom poms!

i remember the first time i had gone to MGM studios...the ToT had just opened...but i was a big chicken and refused to ride it. then the next time i went, my friend and i were determined to ride it until we got there...we had recently eaten and we weren't feeling all that great...so we chickened out. then i went again, but this time with my sister and my mom. mom is deathly afraid of heights so there was no chance that she was riding. but my sister dragged me on ToT...i LOVED it!!! couldn't believe that i had chickened out before!! it's now my favorite ride there! when we were on it, they were building RnR. we could see the track and everything from the top of ToT. they were building the track outside before they built the exterior building. it was really cool! since then, i've ridden ToT alone many times...i love ToT, RnR, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, BTMRR, and i love Dumbo. that's my favorite "little ride".

welp...i gotta get moving...we have a few errands to run then DH will be dropping me off while he goes shopping for my birthday present! he's got a list...let's see what i get! actually, he's the one person in the world i can count on to acknowledge my birthday and to get me something i really want...he's such a great guy!

i HATE the rain...

dh and i aren't going to the renaissance festival today after all. it's wet and rainy outside...90% chance of thunderstorms...

dh did get me a few things for my birthday though. i got the Chicago DVD...and a bottle of my perfume (heavenly from victoria's secret), and a little pouch that had a tiny bottle of halo from victoria's secret, some lotion, and lipgloss...and he has such a knack for picking out birthday cards for me. i always get 2 from him. and this year's..both of them made me cry. he's so good at that...

i guess we are going to do something today here in town though. there's a rib fest downtown...and the charlie daniels band is playing there tonight. we may see if we can get down there for a little bit.

everytime i plan to do something and get all excited about it...it freaking rains outside. i hate this weather...sigh...
