You guys are so funny... it's february!! :-D I am enjoying following this thread...

who has OCPD?
Obsessive Compulsive Planning disorder?

While I also would normally find the humor in this, the question of how much we pay for airfare for the trip we are planning, will LITERALLY make or break this trip! Yes, some of us are compulsive "overplanners"..."Hi, my name is Pamela, and I am a compulsive overplanner!" :wave2: While I have seen the airfare we need as high as $600/pp, with Southwest I believe it can be lower than $300! So I am anxiously awaiting the dates I need to be open, so I know if this trip will actually happen!

I set my homepage to the SouthWest website, so I am reminded to check OFTEN!...................P

Llyolf...

Yes, some of us are compulsive planners (I for one am really guilty :wave2: )... but there IS some reason behind the madness.

For one, I think a lot of us want to book as soon as the flights become available to get first choice of flight times for our particular departure day. I don't know how many times I've tried to book a flight at a certain time only to be told, "sorry ma'm but that one is full".

The other thing is, if we live near a airport that's not a major hub, the choices are fewer and the planes are even smaller (meaning: stuff gets booked FAST). So, it's best to grab flights when they first come out.

But the best thing is... after flights are booked... you can pretty much relax until the trip. Booking flights seem to be the most stressful for some of us when it comes planning.

Okay... gotta get back to compulsively planning.... :hyper:

Hi Donnask8pro!! From Cherry Hill also and wondering about SW fares for Nov!My guess is they wont be out till July.Maybe we will see you there! :earsboy:

Luvmick.
Are you going in Nov also? What week? I feel as though we should have roll calls. I have already met a few going the same week as I am. Arriving either Fri or Sat after Thanksgiving.

I'll jump on the SW watch too!! :magnify: I check the SW site about a million times a day!! Hopefully soon....... :hourglass

I called SW earlier and was told they didnt know. Blah Blah Blah
She said to keep checking as they post new fares whenever they feel like it. In other words, they dont have a set time of the day that they release the new fares.

Not so patiently waiting. :hourglass And I'm sick to death of looking at that Southwest web page!

Hi Donnask8pro,We are going the dreaded Jersey week, Nov.5-11.It really is a great time to go! :earsboy:

I couldn't wait either I booked on Spirit also. $640 for the 4 of us from NY LGA to MCO

Someone on another board is saying 2-17-05 at 10:35 a.m. central standard time, I don't know. :confused3

Thanks for the date.... worth marking down, anyhow, just in case. But I must say....

COME ON SOUTHWEST!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???!! .................p

Hi all,
I was told by a SW customer service rep shortly before our trip in January that all sales and price decreases happen on Tuesdays. I also was able to
apply price differences for a credit on a future trip (within one year of original
trip). My original price for six out of PHL was $940.00....when a $49.00 fare
came out for the return trip (not so fortunate on way down since it was
New Years Day!) I got price down to $820.00 for six.......not bad!!! So now
I have $120.00 credit for DH and mine anniversary trip in May. Didn't make
those ressies yet until I see if I can get an AP code for AKL since all of our
DVC points are gone for this year!

Hi,
SW opened up its last block on Thursday, Dec. 9th around 10:30am. I know because I checked the computer before work around 6am and then again when I had access to a computer around 12:30pm. By that time when I booked over half the flights were already gone! I got flights on my dates, but paid more than I really wanted, and our flight down is not nonstop. However, I was happy to get the dates. So if your dates are non-negotiable, I'd be hanging around my computer on Thursday at 10:20 or so!

I think part of the problem is SWA is flying new routes and is also taking delivery of new planes for it's fleet. Once SWA posts a schedule they won't change it. My guess is that these things are slowing things down a bit. But, we can rest assured that once the schedule is posted, it won't change.

I'm assuming when you say SW opened up its fares on December 9th at 10:30 AM that's Eastern time? So that would be 8:30 AM Mountain, if that's the case. Just trying to prepare for tomorrow! Thanks!

Hmmmm....I'm in Mountain time (NM), and my sister is in Eastern(FL) which is 2 hours different. Or at least I think that's it. Isnt' Central 1 hr earlier than eastern, Mountain 2hrs, Pacific 3 hrs?

I guess I need to research this so I, too can be ready tomorrow!

I am desperatly awaiting flights from Albany,NY to mco for 8/15 - 8/26.. this is killing me!!1

Spirit prices from LGA already jumped up $40 each and I didn't book... I rather fly out of ALB !!

I don't mind spending the extra $100 for the 4 of us, we spend more than that on parking and bridge tolls going to LGA or JFK...

Just venting !!!!

Anyone ever use www.sidestep.com ?
