SWA can you check a box as luggage?

I was wondering can you check a box as a piece of luggage on SWA? I wanted to pack cereal and some other food to bring with me on the trip and figured a box might be better. I could only find size and weight restrictions on the SWA page.

I've packed boxes as luggage all the time. Just make sure it is taped up good. You might want to put a roll of tape in the top of it in case they want to open it. That way they have no excuse not to tape it back up.

Thanks! As long as it has an ME tag they will take it to the resort right?

Yes, ME will take it to the resort.

Make sure your box is no bigger than 62" when measuring length + width + depth.

Last month we brought home wine from the Pacific Northwest, packing it into a wine shipping box we got from a winery. No problem and no charge.

I put our stroller in the box and check it. I put a label on it that has my name, resort info & flight info. I also stick the ME tag right to the box. Never had a problem and it gets delivered with my other luggage!

As long as the box meets the airlines size and weight requirements, and is sealed, go ahead and slap that DME tag on it (also write your name and cell phone #) and drop it in checked baggage.

Yet another reason to love DME on arrival, and those 2 free checked bags are yet another reason to luv SW.
