Does anyone know when Southwest and/or AirTran will open booking for after June 3rd? How will the upcoming merger affect AirTran operations next June?

An email I got from SWA said it is opening the schedule November 16th.

I have no idea on AirTran merger impact.

PP is correct about when the next booking window will open.

As far as the merger, those things take 18-24 months to play out, so you will still see two separate airlines in June. I am guessing the early 2012 is when Airtran will go away and it will all become SWA.

It seems odd that AirTran still hasn't opened up past May 25. We want to fly May 26. I didn't think it was the merger holding it up, but now I'm wondering...

Thanks everyone!

I have a feeling that AirTran will open their bookings at about the same time as SWA.

Duds... thanks for the timeline on the merger. It sounds like it will be ok to book AirTran for June without worries of being affected by the merger.

I wouldn't worry. I am booked on Airtran in March and am looking to book SW in June... I am not concerned in the least.
