SW plane switch at BWI--70 minutes. Enough time?

I read here that BWI is a busy SW hub and in checking our schedule realized I have a BWI plane switch when we go from Detroit to Orlando. We leave Detroit at 5:50, land at 7:25 and take off again at 8:35. This is on a Wednesday so hopefully not too busy.
Are all of the SW gates close at this airport? The only time I've ever had an issue switching planes was when we had to run from one area to another. DH wanted to stop for a snack but I was worried the boarding would start. We do have ECBI but it doesn't help if you aren't in line when they start.

According to the terminal map I found online:

The only way I see 70 minutes NOT being long enough is if either
A) Your original flight arrives late (by 20-30 minutes)
-or-
B) Your travelling party requires assistance/walks slow (wheelchair, walker, toddlers, etc).

Bwi is nice and easy, the swa gates are right near each other

I think that is fine - the map above while correct is deceiving since the gates are very close together! As your flight gets closer you can check the flight status of your flight on various dates to see what gate your originating flight arrives at vs what gate your continuing flight departs from. IME SWA is good at keeping flights on time and helping passengers meet connections.

eta - the food kiosks are just up the stairs from the gates and fairly close as well so depending on what you want you could have time for that as well. The only really long line tends to be at Chipotle :))

Southwest also occasionally uses C gates which make for a long walk. There are moving sidewalks in B area which make the walk easier.

Thanks! Do people eat at chipotle at 8:30 in the morning? :scared: Anyhow, one less thing to worry about. I would hope no delays if we are leaving that early in the morning!

As long as your bags are cheeked though you should not have any problem. Even if your plane is a little late SW is very efficient in making sure that everyone makes it to the connecting flight. I have even had it where they had all the connecting passengers deplane first and essentially walk them to the next gate to get them their quickly

Good point and I have no idea but in all fairness your OP doesn't say am or pm :)
