I just saw a new commercial for it. I think it starts in Dec. We already have our airfare for Jan (and got a great deal.) But there is always March and May for us! (Big year, I love AP's.)

I am pretty excited. We don't fly SW because the stops are too much with small kids, but if they start we will be looking into it. Especially if I can catch some good dings.

Besides Sprit could use a little competition.

Anyone else excited about this? :cool1:

Now we have a choice between Northwest, Spirit, Airtran and SW for non-stop travel to Orlando. It is great news :thumbsup2

That is just my feelings. The ding flights almost got me to go last year, but the stops just wasn't worth it. Non stop SW really opens up our options more. Spirit normally has decent prices, but every once in a while they are insane high. This really helps! :thumbsup2

I'm not in your area, but SW is our one discount airline here. Orlando is a nonstop (most flights) from here and it feels like a real luxury. Welcome to the club! :-)

I just looked to see if you can start booking. In march the dates we would want and the times we want, non stop for $45 each way right now. total of 234 for the 2 of us round trip.

The problem is this trip is only in the dream stages. We don't even have anyone who said they would take our kids for us for sure yet.

Man that is so temping. I need to think about this. :goodvibes

Go ahead and book the March trip with SW.....if you can't get someone to watch the kids you can always just save the credit (SW Ticketless Travel Funds) for a future trip within one year of original booking (11/07). We're also at VWL in January (13th thru 20th). We fly SW all the time from PHL (and we've got a smaller regional airport practically in our backyard) because of the ns flights. If we fly from our local airport it takes about 6 to 7 hours with stops or transfers. With SW we drive 2 hrs to PHL and another 2 hrs flight time.........not to mention the best prices and the best customer service in the industry!!!!

Even with the internet fairs you can do that?

That is something to consider. We are going to FLA again in May so if we don't use them for March...........

I have to discuss this with DH. :cool1:

Thanks for the info.

Good to see you! :wave2:

Spirit has internet deals right now during that time, but you have to fly on a monday to Thrusday. If those days work for you then it would be great. We are going on a curise in May so we are looking for that time.

Now we have NW, Spirit and SW as non stop options! :cool1:

I'm pretty pleased by this too, and noticed it a month or so ago---I think I even posted here about it. SW never had good prices on their connecting flights when I looked. They were always no better than direct flights on one of the other three. The new direct flights are much more competitively priced.

I already have our flights for Feb, but this can only be good for future trips.

I agree Brain.

The strange thing is for March the non stop flights are the times we (DH and I) like. The 1st flight out going down, last flight coming home.

However when looking for May the flight times are different, (mid of day) and right now (or at least last time I looked) they are only booking until May 10th and we will be flying home May 12th. Not sure SW is going to work for us in May.

Still I am very happy the option is out there and I look forward to giving SW an other try is March! (and for $45 each way you can't beat that!) :Pinkbounc

That's strange that they changed those flight times. I really like that first flight down. I don't mind coming back a bit earlier in the day, because by then we're pretty tired.

Yes, I wonder if they are going to change it again. I don't know enough about SW history to know if they do this often. Spirit and NW are pretty consistant.

Anyway else know if SW does things like this often (change the flight times and what ones are Non stop?????)

They are adding the non stops because they are adding planes to their fleet. This is per a friend that works for the FAA.

Thanks, do they change the times of the flights often though? I thought it was pretty consistant. The times I am flying non stop in March are not the same times and flights I can get in May. I find that strange. :confused3
