SW/Ding/flight with a stop

I was holding out to get a lower than fare for DH on our return, hoping for a DING. His flight from BDL (hartford Ct) to MCO (orlando) just went from $119 to $188 YIKES!!! we fly back Oct 14th, now I realize I may have been waiting for no reason, does SW DING all flights or only Non stop - our flight has a stop, but no plane change

SW DINGs flights that are underselling. If his flight has gone up that much then I suspect it's selling well which means no DING for that one. I'm pretty sure I've seen DINGs for flights with stops but again, it's generally the flights that undersell which are generally also the ones I don't want. Sigh.....

won't start until probably the 1st week in August or there abouts. But, my constant monitoring of Dings to/from BDL show almost none. Truly haven't seen more than one or two all summer long. SWA seems to have abandoned the Hartford market. DBr and I fly out 9/4 and return 9/11, both Saturdays. SW has done away with the early non-stop out and the late non-stop back for Orlando. We (read me because I'm the planner) have, accordingly, abandoned SW for Delta. Yes, I do have to pay a baggage fee (just 1 each way, uber-packer!). But I get to MCO before SW's first flight leaves BDL and I get to stay 4 hrs longer on departure day. AND Delta's fare was $84 each way. SW did finally match that price for a few days on their mid-afternoon flight but we had already booked Delta. Our flight is currently full in Coach Class. Last year, DD and I snagged $69 fares down on Delta and, when we arrived at the gate, were upgraded to First Class!!! Others on the DIS have said this doesn't happen with deeply discounted fares but it happened to us! Here's hoping for a little Pixie Dust again!!!

I too have noticed the schedule is no longer as appealing as it used to be for the same reasons. And the prices are going up, so I agree, SW isn't the best game in town anymore

DH and I want to buy an RV and the more the flights go up the more we agree that btween the cost of flights for 4 in what will soon be school vacation only (kids will both be in school next year), bags and car rental, our yrly payments over a yr are less.


we will be missing each other buy a bit, we leave Sept 27 can't wait!!! we are both well into the double digit dance!

We went down late Sept last year for Free DDP, F & WF and the gift card for my B-day! But a little too crowded for my spoiled taste because of F & WF I think.

Remember, we will now have Jet Blue to add to our flight choices!
