I have read on some of the posts that it is better to reserve one way flights because it is easier to rebook if a sale comes along. I have also read by doing this you may run into security issues due to only book one way flights instead of roundtrip. Has anyone had any security issues booking one way flights?

Thanks for any help. :)

Nope, no issues we always book 1 ways b/c if a ding comes out for certain days its easier to change .

i've booked one way a few times on SW and have not been subject to extra security. it is much better to book this way because of dings

often my inbound will be available, but my outbound is not, with seperate itineraries i can change either one independently, lowering my price without losing my other leg.

Dis 31 has it right plus all of SW flights are registered as one-ways they just share a booking comfirm#.

I think at some point in the past one ways drew extra attention, but, I don't think it gets that extra look so much anymore. I have heard the same thing, but, I think there are certain other things looked at more closely these days.

Last November I flew one way from Baltimore to Columbus, OH due to the fact that my dh and kids were already there, so I would drive back with them.

I was subjected to a lot of scrutiny. My ticket was marked for an extra search before I even got to the machines and it did take about 1/2 hour longer for me to get through security than my mom, who had a round trip. Also, I had just had a breast biopsy done the day before and they were really "rough" with me. Not a pleasant experience. :sad2:

Sorry for your "rough" treatment but I'm sure your random pick had more to do with randomness then buying a one way ticket. I've flown SW many times and always book a one way ticket and noone in my family has ever been stopped.
