SW and Louisville - FRUSTRATED

What's with SW and Louisville?? Everyone else is getting great deals, sales and Dings, yet the fares from Louisville are exactly the same as the day they were released - SKY HIGH! Yet flights are no where near being full. Just this week the Fun Fares booked up for our dates (first week in June). There's never been an Internet rate offered from day 1 either. I'm checking our flights at least 3 times a day. We had to pay almost $300pp rt, but I'm still hoping for a sale.
Why doesn't SW like Louisville??

Hi K9pal we are just across the river in Louisville. I feel like everytime SW adds another airport they take flights away from SDF! I can remember 4 or 5 years ago when there were at least 6 flights betw SDF and MCO a day with two being non stop. But don't give up yet. I just got a ding last week for end of April for a quick trip to see the mouse. Actually we are also headed over to Tampa to visit our son but I can't get that close and not spend a little time at Disney I feel like SW isn't as generous with those internet fares as they use to be and if you don't catch them within a few hours of the new schedule release they are gone and you have to wait for the sales or dings. If anything, I'm even more frustrated. It takes us the same amount of time to get to either Louisville or Nashville airports. However, we prefer to fly out of Louisville; since we are far more familiar with the area. I have NEVER lucked into any really good rates for times I want to go to WDW. To make matters worse, I found a good rate out of Nashville for my dates in May/June; but, when I went to book the tickets this morning, the prices had nearly TRIPLED!!! What's really weird is that there is still PLENTY of availability. I feel as if I just cannot win when it comes to purchasing airline tickets.

Hey Neighbors! We are flying out of Louisville the second week of June but we're flying nonstop on Delta. Their rates went down last week to 218/pp that's the lowest I've seen Delta, and now their back to 280. I like nonstop flights best (seeing I'm a big fan of flying!! ) Hope you find a great price on SW and have a wonderful vacation!

I feel your pain. I'm having the same problem from Dallas. Hopefully something will pan out for both of us.

I had started a thread about a week ago about SW and Indy. There never is any dings for Indy. Then, of course, the next day they had a ding but it for the month of May and we leave June 1. Still hoping, but if not, my flights are $79 each way. but when 8 people are traveling that is alot.

SW has vacation packages with Disney out of Louisville so that is probably why no extra savings. But Louisville is usually cheaper by far than Cincinnati and other local airports. Right now Indy is having a GREAT sale to Orlando on the dings alerts. I have Louisville, Nashville, Cincinati, Indy and Orlando for my alerts because you never know whats going to be cheaper that week. Go to flylouisville.com and and they have great flights. Delta is usually cheaper with better times (they leave earlier and have a later flight back to Louisville). We always went Derby week because you could get out of town cheap before and arrive cheap after.
