Listened to Clark Howard last night and he said there are BIG airfare sales coming for the "Winter Months" (late November-early March).

Southwest is offering 40% off when you use BIGDEAL40 as a promo code.
Airtran is offering $45, $75, and $135 (all one way) fares depending on how far you're flying.

He expects other carriers to follow.

Just tried the promo code for a March 2 flight returning March 10 and the site said the code "BIGDEAL40" has expired.

The most recent AirTran sale ended Oct. 11, but they seem to have sales almost weekly. Keep checking.

Southwest's code goes through Feb. 14, Airtran's sale goes through March 1. So your trip wouldn't be available.

The flights I've been eyeing on AirTran dropped last night at 5PM from $133 to $104 so I booked that flight immediately. I noticed that this morning by 10AM it had gone back up to $133. I had downloaded the Yapta app to my phone so I received the notification as soon as it dropped. Gotta love Yapta!
