Just fyi - SW has $79 flights to/from Orlando this summer - quite a few days in August in particular. (By the way, I'm really tired of paying $250-300ish for a RT ticket!) It got us to book a long bonus weekend at WDW! :yay:

We had a credit that was expiring and between that, our FF miles, our DVC and our APs, the trip will be pretty inexpensive. (I priced going somewhere closer and WDW is less expensive for us because of all that. It's crazy, right?!) I consider it our last big bang before school starts!

I'm sure our friends will find that we're nuts for doing this, but with a son that's a HS sophomore in the fall, and my dtr going into 6th, I know it's just going to get harder to find the time for the four of us. I'm going to take advantage while I can!! I think some of you here can understand.
See you at the world! :)

Hope these same fares are offered in a few months for October/November. I would love to rebook and get some credits!!!

I love SW credits!

We had credits from a price adjustment, $100 luv credit from that trip that paid for October trip.
Price went down $40 last sale and Chicago was $49 so $58 rt a person!

Thank you, I just got 91$ per ticket credit that will definitely come in handy.

Dang! That's awesome!! I wish I was a little closer to Chicago :( We fly out of STL and my September flights are more expensive than my friends Thanksgiving flights. I check daily and sometimes hourly waiting for them to drop. I would really love a refund on my points!

I miss the days of the cheap flights.. :( we are a family of 6 and with the prices to fly most times for our family I just can't justify it. Even though it's a 16 hour drive we could split it into 2 days and stay and a NICE hotel there and back and still come out under the cost to fly... I do miss being there in 2 hours though! lol

I've learned how to rack up Southwest points so our last 3 flights have been free! It's about a 3 hr drive to get to Southwest though so we always have to take that into consideration. Where I live I have 3 airports within an hour that fly to Orlando with Allegiant. I have seen flights for as low as $47 from Springfield, IL to Orlando- just got to watch those carry-on bag fees.

I'll pay those prices over an 18 hour car ride any day!

I'd love to start flying again, but you definitely have to look for the deals because otherwise the time savings vs cost just isn't there. For 1-2-3 people maybe, but when you are looking at 6 tickets that cost goes up fast... :S

Hey Gillyrose779 - I live in Springfield, IL and I always drive to STL to fly on SW. Allegiant scares me too much to fly with them.

LOL! I have flown many times with Allegiant out of Peoria and Bloomington, IL to Florida and have never had problems. I have heard horror stories but we have never had issues.

They get you with the luggage fees if you don't pay attention but you can't beat free parking at both airports!

You drive right passed my house on the way!! We live in Mt. Olive :)

We looked in to flying out of Belleville or Springfield, but by the time we would pay all the baggage fees and then a rental car, some of the savings is gone. Plus I don't like the times the flights leave. Flights down were late at night and flights home were early in the morning. I feel like I'm wasting two nights of points to be on property.

Exactly. Many times we fly fly down on the butt-crack of dawn flight and come home on the latest non-stop with SWA.

I know someone who was stranded in FL by Allegiant, and with them only doing 2 flights a week out of SPI, I am not willing to take those chances.

I also use SWA points to fly and haven't paid for airfare in 3 years!
