Hi all!

We're planning our first ever WDW family vacation in April and my DH REALLY wants a nice sushi dinner (or lunch). Can anyone recommend a restaurant with good sushi? We're planning to stay at the contemporary for 10 nights, so I would prefer an onsite restaurant. But I'm also open to any offsite sushi restaurants as we'll have a rental car as well. We'll also have our 3 and 5 year old DDs with us.

Thanks for the help!

I always like to try the restaurants in the hotel where I am staying, so I would make an ADR at California Grill. There is also a sushi bar at the Polynesian that would be convenient for you.

Thank you! Those 2 restaurants were my first options, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking any other good sushi places.

I like the sushi at Kona at the Poly and have eaten there many times. However, I think the very best sushi on property is at Kimonos at the Swan. It is fantastic!

The best is at Kimono's at the Swan (walking distance from International Gateway at Epcot, or take the boat from there. It's open for dinner only, maybe 5pm I think?

My son loves their sushi!

It's usually rated one of the best in Orlando.

little OT...if we went from a park to Kimono's would we be dressed ok? I'm talking t-shirt, shorts, flip flops. Or do you need a little nicer than that?

I don't eat sushi but my son loves it and he said it was pretty good at the Swan as well. I'm sure he had on park clothes when he went although he took a shower first. I was at MK at the time, he stayed in the room because he had a migraine but he needed to eat and we were staying at the Swan so we went down there and ate at the bar.

You'll be fine in what you're wearing to the park. It's not a signature restaurant.

Our favourites for Sushi are Kimono's and Morimoto's right now.

Also, I agree with Splitsville's sushi, it is not bad at all!

Splitsville has fantastic sushi. Like, I am not sure how a bowling alley in a tourist trap does it. But, I dream about it. It's THAT good.

Kamakazie roll at the sushi bar at kona!!! Absolutely the best sushi roll I have ever had!!!

Had a exceptionally bad experience at kimonos many years ago. I have never been back. Too bad after reading all these rave reviews.

DH likes the sushi at Kona in the Poly, and he is very picky from having worked at an upscale Hawaiian fusion restaurant.

Splitsville sushi is wonderful!! Can not wait to go back in September!
