I had sushi twice on the Disney Magic (March 2002). I had one piece from an evening snack tray in the nightclub area. It had wasabi and soy sauce incorporated into the sushi roll. It was a decent little snack, but nothing great.
At one of the buffet lunches at Topsiders -- I believe it was on Thursday as part of the seafood buffet -- they had a sushi buffet. I took several pieces. Unfortunately, the taste and especially the texture were really disappointing. I couldn't even finish them. I assume they were pre-made, frozen, and thawed -- but I don't know this for a fact.
If you're a "sushi fanatic," you're likely to be unhappy with the sushi on the Magic (unless the sushi was only bad the week that we went).
By the way, overall I was happy with the food on the Magic -- just not with the sushi and a few other disappointments over the course of the week.
They did have a wide variety of sushis on Thursday at Topsider's. They were at the far end of the buffet, next to the salad bar.
When I went to Palo's, the waitress also offered us an ahi tuna dinner, either sushi or cooked (I chose cooked) that was not on the menu. I don't if that ALWAYS offered, but it was a couple weeks ago.
I think the only sushi we saw on our 7-day Eastern cruise in July was at the Topsiders Asian buffet. And I'll agree with WW that it was disappointing... pretty bland.
