Just wondering if anyone knows how it works if you want to order sushi at the California Grill and you are on the DDP. Can you order a roll as your appetizer or does it have to count as your main entree? Thanks.
You must be on the deluxe dining plan, which has the appetizer included. You may order any roll with the exception of Snake in the Grass and Yoshi's platter, which are available to you as entrees.
I highly recommend the Spicy Kazan Roll!!! I'm counting the days to our August reservation so I can order it again!
And the Snake in the Grass has been replaced by an excellent Dragon Roll which also counts as an entree rather than an appetizer. On our last visit I had the Spicy Kazan for my app and the Dragon Roll as my entree...
Sometimes abbreviations on the disboards can make things confusing. Here DDP stands for the Disney Dining Plan and refers to the plan where the table service (TS) meal includes entree, dessert and beverage. The DxDDP is the Deluxe Dining Plan which includes an appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage. I think people are not sure which plan you're on since you're asking about appetizers but referring to the regular dining plan.
Here's a list of other acronyms that you might see on the boards:
Just to add my two cents on the topic..last trip in 2009 I got Yoshi's platter as an entree and it was a perfect amount of food. I highly recommend it!
