Survivor - Vanuatu

Lat week I liked Dolly, but this week I thought she was really dumb to even try playing one group against the other. Maybe she was jsut really out of her element--I got the impression that she was a simple, "down-home" kind of girl, just not ready to go up against a bunch of schemers.

Right now, I'm routing for Chad, and I like Scout a lot. I get the impression it would take a whole lot to get her worked up.

Am I the only one who thinks the reward challenge was leaning very much in the women's favor? Girls naturally have better balance than boys, and they are smaller, thus using less space on the beam.

I know that there are physical challenges that favor the men, but I think all the challenges should be somewhere in the middle of the two groups. If this were an extremely physical challenge, one that the women would have no chance of beating the men, I can just hear the outcry now.

I also want to mention an observation I had last night. WHY is it OK for Survivor to have overweight men (Hatch, Ted, Rupert, now Travis, ect) but NEVER an overweight female? I think the "chunkiest" female they ever had was Sandra, and ooooh, wasn't she just gross? (insert sarcasm here) I want to apply to Survivor, and on my tape when I have to say WHY I want to be on Survivor, I will say I challenge them to pick me to be the FIRST obese female.

Nope I noticed that the reward challenge was more for the women.

Hey how come they didn't show Rory when the men won. I wanted to see if he was doing a happy dance, like the Women did.

Funny how the deciding voter got voted off...
I had a feeling she was going to be voted off...
It seemed too obvious the first week that Chris was going to get voted off & didn't...Funny how they trick you on the show as to who you think is getting the boot...:D

ITA. This subject was raised on another board as well. The theory is that they wanted to ge the women off to a good start to help their morale.

I agree, that was my thought right off the bat.

In all my years of watching Survivor, here is what I have figured out...the person they discuss on camera before tribal council is never the one to get booted, unless it is a unanomous vote. Always, if it is between 2 or more people, then the one they talk about the most is the one that is not going home.

Last night it was Leane (with a quick mention of it maybe being Dolly)

I did get a quick glimpse of Rory after the men won immunity. All he did was put his hand in the air....may have clapped, can't recall for sure.

I'm really bombing on the reality team! I had picked Brook last week and had Dolly this week!:earseek:

Dolly's parting comments struck me as a little odd. She went on about how she is just a simple farm girl, and that she was out of her element, and that she wasn't cut out for this. Did she not watch the last 8 seasons of Survivor? It seemed to me that she wasn't as simple as she would like people to think.

Am I the only one who is having trouble getting excited about this season? It seems like the same old, same old. I feel like I've seen all the characters before, seen all the challenges before, etc. I really hope there are some twists and changes, or it may not hold my interest much longer.:(

I wonder why they didn't just crouch down so that they could be stepped over. I didn't hear anything when Jeff was describing the challenge that said that you couldn't. Of course, that may have been edited out.

Interesting to vote out the swing vote for a change. So Eliza voted with the older women?

I liked Dolly last week, thought she was sweet and an old fashioned type girl etc..... but.... when I saw here wearing those shorts that were half way up her butt......well, so much for her "innocence" !! I don't care that she's gone...

I thought the same thing. Maybe they had to stand.

You've gotta love those blindfolded-with-someone-giving-directions challenges. Always guaranteed to make you laugh.

I feel like this most seasons until someone starts standing out for me. There's no clear cut villains yet either IMO. I only quit watching one year because I never could get into the characters, hopefully that won't happen this year!

I agree that balance competitions slightly favor women. However, what really did the men in on the reward competition was their total aversion to touching eachother. Also, last week, it wasn't the "men" than had trouble with the balance beam, it was only Chris, so I'd say the advantage to women on balance competitions is minor.

Since someone mentioned it.... it does seem like there are several women who appear to have had surgery in that area...

What about that one guy who was just standing there hugging each guy (getting his balance?) forever? Even the host commented on it. When he fell off and had to keep going back I thought the whole row of guys were going to die on the spot! LOL

I was laughing the whole time. I wish I could talk to them through the screen, "Hey guys, lighten up, winning this competition will not make you gay" LOL Good TV.
