I missed it last night, was it a recap for sure?

If so, did they show anything that we have not already seen?

Yep, it was just a recap show. They showed clips of life at each camp, what they did for fun, that one guy getting naked (Tyson? - I'm having trouble learning all their names this season). Mostly just a fluff show.

Survivor's back on Thursday next week.

Sydney's gone! I've been waiting for that for weeks. It's not that I dislike her or anything, she was just so blah and getting by on the pretty factor.

So, next week there is a merge. Wonder if the secret alliance will hold up?

For the first time last night, I noticed behind Taj's name on screen, it said..Taj - former pop star. I know it was mentioned she was in another reality show but what does pop star mean? Was she a singer?

She was in the group SWV- they were a major R&B group in the 1990"s. I used to love all of their songs!!

When I pull up a picture of SWV I can't tell which one is Taj. She hasn't aged well in my opinion.

I hope she doesn't win, they don't need the money. I like Sierra.

The whole group is rather blah. The only real fun is watching Coach and his huge ego.

I agree. They have been saying for weeks about how this is a really great group of Survivors and everyone is so likeable and that it is a season full of blindsides, etc. I just don't see it. Everything has been fairly predictable to this point and actually rather boring. They are for the most part likeable, but that makes them all kind of boring to me. I really hope this season gets better soon as they have had a string of great seasons since Survivor:China and this one just isn't up to par yet.

Sydney leaving last night was a no brainer really...I knew Joe was safe just because of the strength factor in case the merge was not in the immediate future. I really think Steven is going to switch sides and try hard to get Taj voted out...he was planning last night with J.T. but Sydney was the better choice.

Should be interesting how long Taj and this "secret alliance" stays around.

I was glad to see Sydney go and Taj stay just because I am curious to see how the alliance holds up once the merge happens. Sydney never made much of an impression on me.

Coach annoys the heck out of me. I would love to see him get voted out except for the fact he does keep the show interesting. Waiting to see what stupid things he'll say each week is amusing.

For a while, they were advertising Taj as the wife of a former NFL player, right? I wonder why the switch to focus her pop star roots.

I agree about not wanting her to win, because she doesn't need the money. I think these reality shows have a lot of nerve calling themselves reality, when they draft famous people to compete. Over on the Amazing Race, there was a father/son combo and the son was a well-known director. They were likable and all, but I couldn't find it in me to shed a tear when they came in last this week.

I was switching between Survivor and the ER finale last night. So, I missed some stuff. Is there another "fake" idol in play? What was that that Joe pulled out from the mailbox after exile? Who put it there?

Since Joe went to exile and would have all the clues, Taj and Steven knew he would find the idol (or lack of) right away. So Taj made a fake idol with some stuff that Steven had collected and hid it there.

What I don't understand is how Joe could possibly believe the Idol was still there. Once he saw the clues, did he really think Taj and Steven were that stupid not to have found the Idol? He didn't seem to question it at all though.

Same here. What is it about this game that makes people so gullible. Those clues were much easier than in seasons past.

Looking at SWV I can totally tell which one is Taj. She has obviously gained weight but I think her face looks the same.

I wonder why a former popstar and wife of retired football player wanted to play Survivor. Not like she needs the money, which should have been the first thing out of those guys on her tribes' mouths. I remember the looks on their faces when they found out she was married to Eddie George. That's got to come up again when it comes to voting crunch time.
