Survivor: Nicaragua Wed, Sept 15**No Spoilers**

I'm in! :thumbsup2 Can't wait until tomorrow night! It'll be a little strange having Survivor on Wednesday... I'll wake up the next morning thinking that it's Friday! :lmao:

i'm joining this one too :)

DH and I watched the TV Guide show. Very interesting, but we were creeped out by the old guy (63 years old) who said he was going to flirt with some of the younger women! :scared1:

What's wrong if an older guy flirts with younger women? If it was the other way around, they'd make a show out of it and call it Cougar Town :lmao:

I'll be watching. The internet talk is that no more than half of this season was recruited. Most of the older tribe were actually cast, and most of the younger were recruited.

I'm feeling a little dense tonight. What is the difference between cast and recruited?

the older ones came out and tried out for the show where as the younger ones were prob found in clubs and asked to be on the show

The girl with one leg does triathalons. My cousin went to school with her. Looking forward to the show starting tomorrow night!!

Tonight is going to be a G-RRRRRRRRR-E-A-T night for television!!

The beginning of Survivor, AND...the finale of Big Brother!!!!! :woohoo:

I'll be cheering for the "elders" on Survivor, since I am one myself.

I hope they do well!!

Yeah, what Kurby said. Despite the majority of the public thinking they get most of the cast from auditions. I love the show, but it really diminished it for me, if you read the wiki, Survivor was caught casting 1 person for Fiji, everyone else they recruited to be more "diverse". For a while now, they recruit them from clubs, modeling agencies, Wholefoods.

Here's an example of someone everyone remembers.

IGN: Let me start out by asking how you came to be on Survivor: Gabon?

Sugar: Actually, I was recruited because I do this charity called Pinups for Pups and they were looking for somebody for somebody for America's Greatest Dog. Thank god they brought me over to Survivor!

I've never been in the creative/production side of the business, but the broadcast/distribution side of the business intersected with my first career. I've keep very close tabs on the business since then (just in case this early retirement of sorts doesn't pan out financially) and my keeping tabs has spread, from the portions of the business I was involved in, to these other aspects of the business.

Thanks! I always wondered because you answer like you're right in the thick of it! BTW, your theories are right on.

I've been in many sides of the business for 30 years, love TV after a long stint in radio, and am still learning the distribution/ratings side of it. This is my first year dealing directly with Neilson and it's an eye opener!

Excuse me dear, but do you not know how to read?

no reason to be nasty...lets keep it nice so there are no problems.how about it?

Seems pretty nasty for someone to post that when it clearly states no spoilers though.

What the.... :confused3

thanks a LOT! :headache:

Wasn't this person the same one that listed spoilers on last season's no spoiler thread? Maybe the same one that sent out all those PM's too? Are we going to have to go through this all again?

That's why I included the word "dear"

'dear' makes it nastier in my eyes...end of fight...i never got into anything before and not starting now...just making an observation.

Agreed.

But you know, that person just wants us to talk about them. They get their jollies posting spoilers and then having us cry foul. Pitiful!
