Survivor - Guatemala

I thought for sure that Jamie would be gone after all the nasty remarks during the immunity challenge. .

I wish Jamie would have been voted out....He is just plain nasty while bobby john is just dumb as a stump...they don't have brain between the two of them!

I was so hoping that Cindy and Rafe would jump ship. I hate Survivor when it just turns into picking off one team. I also used to really like Stephanie, but she and Jamie need to go. Surprisingly, I liked Judd better last night because he actually did the challenge while the others feasted.

I don't dislike Bobby John but he does need to control his temper. Jamie isn't worth the anger. I wonder too what would happen if there was ever an actual fight on Survivor.

Personally, I'm liking Bobby Jon better as the game goes on. Sure, he's dumb as dirt, but like he said, he's a gentleman when he needs to be.

Think its time for Mark Burnett to come up with one of his infamous "Survivor Shakeups". What do you think?

Yes, a shake-up would be good. I love Survivor but get disappointed in the show when one team just votes the other off one by one regardless of the traits of the players. I cannot believe Cindy and Rafe voted for Brandon. I have not disliked anyone as much as Jamie since Johnny (the mean blond pipsqueak). He is just plain rude. Let's hope someone deserving finds the hidden idol!

here are some survivor rules from the Australia edition, I am assuming they would remain the same:

The rules of Survivor are designed not only to uphold the premise of the show, but to promote the safety of all Survivors and crewmembers. The prize for following all these rules and making it to the very end is one million dollars, but consolation cash prizes will be awarded to the other Survivors, based on their order of elimination. The consolation prizes will range from approximately $2,500 for the first person voted out of the Outback, to approximately $100,000 for the runner-up.

Several actions will result in immediate elimination from the contest and expulsion from the Outback, as well as forfeiture of any prize. If you were one of the Survivors, you wouldn't want to do any of these things:

* Try to conspire to share the prize. The million dollars may be won by one and only one individual. Survivors are prohibited from sharing or making any agreement to share all or any portion of the prize.

* Enter the production area. The area designated for the production crew is strictly off-limits to the Survivors.

* Break the law. Even though they are stranded in the remote Australian Outback, the Survivors will still be held to U.S. law, as well as local law. Any breach of those laws is against the contest rules.

* Miss a Tribal Council or a challenge. Tribal Council meetings are mandatory for all Survivors, and everyone is required to vote. In addition, sitting out of a challenge that requires the participation of all Survivors is not allowed.
* Damage the Outback environment. Only designated fruits, vegetables, and animals are allowed to be harvested as food. In addition, the Survivors may not leave litter or any other debris on the site, and they will be obliged to give full consideration to the ecological impact of everything they do in the Outback.

* Act up. Any misconduct is against the rules, including but not limited to stealing or misappropriating food, harming other Survivors or crewmembers, and acts of violence.

so....all anybody has to do is provoke Jamie into taking the first swing, and he's toast, right? Hmmm...Bobby Jon, you paying attention, son?

what about a womens alliance? Danni should let the other side vote off one more man. Go to work on the women, and try to get them too group up. Then it will be Cindy, Danni, Lydia and Stephanie vs. Judd, Jamie, Gary and Rafe. I think it is conceivable they would be able to at least convince Gary if not Gary and Rafe to vote against Jamie. Just a thought

Bumping to discuss last night's show. (Looks like Survivor's popularity is starting to slip!)

Good for Gary finding the extra immumity idol!! He just saved his own butt for another 3 days. What happens to the idol now? Is it done for good, or will they re-hide it so maybe another survivor can find it and use it?

I'm sure it was a one-time use only deal. I doubt we'll see it again. i liked that twist though and hope they use it in future installments (especially seeing how CBS picked Survivor up for seasons 13 + 14!)

Yes I was happy he found it. I wonder what he is going to do about Judd. He sat right there are Tribal and said I have NEVER lied. So that should be interesting to see how it plays out.

So, if you were playing the game in Guatemala, who would you like to go up against in the final two?

I thought the idol was a "get out of jail free" card up until the final four. I guess we'll find out next week if Gary gets semi-permanent immunity.

You know, Gary's stock had been going up in my mind, even before he found the idol. He jsut seems like a good player and a decent guy. Can't wait to see him call out Judd on the idol--not to mention getting so drunk and throwing up in the shelter, that's just gross! And I understand, eating a lot after starving, you might get sick, but Judd was wasted (again!). And Judd's lie about the clue was jsut plain stupid--if he wanted to tell them something, he could have just said, "It's not buried" or something, rather than say it's on the ground and then get caught looking in the trees like an idiot!

I'd love to see Judd and Jamie go next, but it's more likely to be Danni and Gary.

I don't think that Gary will call Judd out. He's been playing the game very "close to the vest" and won't want to call attention to himself by creating a stir over that lie. He will more likely work behind the scenes in one on one encounters to try to get some of the former Nakum tribe members to break that alliance.

I also think that he's been holding back on the reward challenges so that he doesn't become a target as a "strong" player. He probably could have thrown that "spear/arrow" with much more distance and accuracy than he exhibited last night.

I agree 100% with that.

I missed it last night; what happened? Who left?

Jamie won the immunity challenge. The Nakum members agreed to vote Gary off. When they got to the point of voting, Gary pulled out the hidden individual immunity idol he had found in the jungle and that saved him. Bobby Jon was voted off instead.

See - that's what I thought, too - that finding the hidden immunity idol would give the finder immunity clear up until the final 4. Unless if you found it you could save it and use it whenever you wanted until the final 4??? I can't remember how Jeff explained it a couple of weeks ago.

I don't think Gary will say anything about Judd lying about the idol. Jeff asked Gary first if he'd lied to anybody during the game and Gary said no - Gary has been lying since Day 1 about who he really is. Judd lied about the idol - he told Stephanie the truth and then lied to the others - I guess Judd wanted to show Stephanie that she should stick to an alliance with him. I liked what Cindy said at tribal council - they're all going to end up lying before the game is done. She's somebody to watch out for - I think Cindy will end up in the final 4, along with Rafe.

I also think that he's been holding back on the reward challenges so that he doesn't become a target as a "strong" player. He probably could have thrown that "spear/arrow" with much more distance and accuracy than he exhibited last night

Oh, I totally agree! I fully expected Gary to be much more accurate throwing that arrow. From the way they were throwing it, it looked very much like a football-throwing motion.

Ok, now to head over to cbs.com to check out my fantasy score....

Do you think that Jamie really thought Gary said he was going to vote for him, or was he lying to the others b/c he just wanted Gary out??
