mickey4ver, I really am not that concerned with the terms used for individuals on Survivor, but I do find it very curious that it is not seen as at least a little bit hypocritical. If someone even dared to refer to Deena as a Fat Pig, he/she would get flamed to ashes. Curious. No biggie as far as I (more loggish) am concerned, but curious.

And a handed down sorority item is meaningful to that person. I would have been upset as well (not that I was in a sorority in college, but I did have friends who were and I understand the tradition).

And, if something is that precious to be considered an heirloom, you certainly don't take it on a show like survivor where the elements can destroy it.

This was my thought exactly. If that sorority shirt was so precious to her, she should have left it at home. I have my mother's wedding ring, and I wouldn't dream of taking it somewhere where it could be lost or destroyed!

I'm afraid that Butch will be the next to go too. His only hope is if the immunity challenge is more of a mental than physical challenge. In that case, it's possible that someone could beat Matt, although Matt has been pretty sharp in past episodes.

Let's see -- the fire? I think just like the flood in Australia, that the crew did not do anything to stop it IN CAMP, but I bet they did step in and keep it from spreading beyond camp. that fire was raging too much out of control to have just burnt out in that small of an area IMHO. And I think they (the crew) probly had an agreement with the owners of the land to do everything they could to preserve it -- it's been requirements in the past for other places. So I bet they stepped in at one point and just allowed it to burn the camp. Reason I compare this to Austrailia is I still believe in that season that they *planted* the food bin in a place where the Survivors had a chance of getting it back.

Jenna's things -- Oh, lost a sorority shirt. Boohoo. As others have mentioned -- if it means that much to you, DON'T TAKE IT! Just like if it means so much to you (negatively) to be away from your sick mom, DON'T GO! Um. Duh?

I also read Heidi's comment to believe that Jenna will be voted out tomorrow. Negative thoughts on Heidi's part, or just recognizing that in the "established pecking order" Jenna is most likely next?

As for the next votes -- I'm betting Matt gets immunity the rest of the way through. I think he's been playing very well, flying under the radar until it is no longer safe for him to do so. He's in such good shape right now, especially after that picnic, that him *not* winning is hard to see. And I, too, was very happy to see him get the car. Of those remaining, he deserved it the most. And I'd like to see him or Butch win the million, but we'll see.

Matt has to win immunity in order to stay. He's definately in the driver's seat right now, and you better believe that the other 3 are thinking the same way. Matt wins hands down against any of the others.

Wouldn't it be awful if Rob and Jenna won the next 2 immunity challenges and voted out Matt and Butch? I mean who do you give the million to? Rob's obnoxious enough without the money and Jenna's spoiled enough as it is.

Matt or Butch deserves it...Matt more than Butch, he's played the game better.

I don't see a double standard at all on the name calling. They are being made fun of because they have continually pointed themselves out as superior because of those traits. If you've read these threads on previous survivors you'll remember that there have been skinny people on each survivor. Body appearance has never really been an issue before and wouldn't have been here if Jenna and Heidi hadn't constantly brought it up.

If a fat person continually refered to himself/herself as superior we would be making the same sarcastic remarks.

Why pick on Heidi and Jenna for being "thin and beautiful" when there are so many other reasons to pick on them?!?!

Regarding all Heidi's hard work; I understand that the show can be edited to make someone look worse than they are, but hasn't she said in front of the camera that, when her alliance was strong she wasn't going to work because she was in a position of power and when she thought her head was on the block, she didn't work because she was going to be voted off anyway?

If Matt had really wanted everyone at the BBQ he would have asked Jenna to cry. I think every time she's cried, she's been given what she wanted!

This is the last I will say about this, since I really didn't mean to ruin any one's fun...we only see what they let us see. It is edited in such a way to make good guys and bad guys. People don't usually go around rubbing their "thiness" or whatever in other people's faces unless there is a reason. I'm sure there were some comments from the others that we just didn't see or hear. I just thought it hypocritical to call these women twigs. That's all. Nobody liked when Deena was called fat, and I see this in the same vein.

As for taking something of value, they have been out there how many days? You think emotions run a little high? Probably now the shirt doesn't seem like a big deal, but again, at the time I can understand being upset. My luxury item most likely would be my Bible, I would be devestated if something happened to it, yet it would be worth the comfort to take the chance. If it would have been Christy upset about losing something you all would be sympathizing with her right now.

Believe me, my heart is not breaking over Jenna and Heidi. They have done and said a lot of stupid things and like I said before I hope Matt wins. But you know, Rob hasn't been much better, but yet he just doesn't seem so bad does he? That's another double standard that I'll just let go.

I too would like Matt to win. I think that he is a lot smarter than we have been led to believe. Possibly even conning Rob. But you know, unless I'm wrong, nobody has won the car and the million dollars both yet. Maybe this year will be a first.

I think you've made very valid points. Jenna and Heidi are very unsympathetic characters, but I think if their character flaws were something other than conceit and external "beauty" it wouldn't be "open season" like it has been.

Since they've brought most of the criticism on themselves I don't have a problem with it, but their treatment is a pretty stark contrast to what I usually read on the DIS!

Lots of talk about Matt winning immunities... but pretty sure at least one of the remaining two is the "how well do you know your tribe members", and SSB just has a feeling that Doc Rob might just win that one, and shake things up....

Remember the classic one where Vecepia (sp?) dominated this challenge, as she had kept detailed notes and reviewed them every night. This is one that you truly can prepare for.

this has been the best episode of survivor...the facial expessions alone are priceless, some of the dumbest comments by castoffs,and the comedy of rob....someone sign him up! being from the pittsburgh area they had a big tadoo on the news about jenna last night and AMBER from the past survivor show predicts her the winner...yuck! (what does she know, she didnt make it very far) ...i think the only way she could even be in the final 2 would be with ammunity,she definnetly doesnt deserve it, shes a whiny ******.i cant believe heidi's comments...someone give that girl some food and oxygen , i think shes delusional!

I think Richard Hatch from the first season won both. I have a vague memory of feeling sorry for him because he was stuck with two Aztecs (I just do not like that car).

I just went to The Early Show's website and read the blurb on Heidi's interview this morning. It didn't look to me like she came off very well. Frankly, I had a little difficulty following her quotes. She appears to be standing by her assertation that she was a hard worker - except for when she wasn't. When asked about the impact the way she played might have on her teaching, she said she played as a hardcore athlete, not as a teacher.

I personally find him a little distasteful in his deceit, BUT...if you are looking at how someone is playing the game to come out the winner, you most likely have to do some of the things he has done to accomplish that. I'm always amazed when the jury speaks to the remaining survivors, they start ragging on them about how deceitful and nasty and stepping on others, they have been to get to the finals, but really, this is a game that is about winning, not necessarily about winning friends and influencing people.

So for my own reasons, I would not like to see Rob win, but if you are looking at how he played the game, he does deserve it by outlasting, outwitting and outplaying the rest of them. Sometimes good guys finish first, but not always.

I heard Heidi on The Howard Stern show this AM. He couldn’t wait for her to come into the studio because he said he hated her and Jenna! Here’s some of what they talked about:

He immediately commented on how HOT she is. And how bad she looked on the show.

She readily admitted that she IS embarrassed to watch herself. Especially at last nite’s tribal council. Her “acne” is actually a rash-type thing that she gets when she is overheated. Also develops a hive-like rash when under stress. Said it was the MOST stressful thing she’s ever done.

Howard took her to task regarding her poor treatment of Christy. She blamed MOST of it on editing. Said she taught disabled kids for an entire year and was initially THRILLED to learn that they had a deaf woman among the tribe. When she attempted to welcome Christy and convey to her the fact that she admired her for being there, Heidi says that Christy shot back “I hate cute girls.” Heidi said she thought that was odd ‘cause she considers Christy beautiful. Heidi said she offered to braid Christy’s hair and asked her to BATHE with them and these offers were quickly rebuffed. She said Christy said “I don’t want you touching me” about the hair braiding.

Regarding her school district: Said only 2 board members said anything to her about her nudity. All other students, parents, principal, fellow teachers behind her 100%. Was glad Howard called it getting naked for candy. Doesn’t like to hear people say she got naked for a million dollars. She got naked for CANDY cause she was STARVING.

Said she would not do Playboy. Would not get naked for $$$. Howard laughed that off and said…honey, you got naked for a candy bar, I’m sure you’d do it for $200,000 or so. She had to good grace to back off and say she’d cross that bridge IF she came to it. Was pretty sure Playboy would not be interested in her.

Had only good things to say about Rob and how well he played the game. Said sure she was pissed originally at the betrayal regarding Alex, but noted that once you get to thinking about things, you get over a lot.

Said she was not attracted to Alex. Slept in his arms for warmth. Said she would have slept in Rob's arms for warmth. Said heck, she slept in Jenna's arms for warmth. Which of course led to Howard asking if she was attracted to Jenna. A quick and emphatic no.

Apparently she looks great. Said she got her boobs after she started getting really interested in physical fitness and started running a lot and lost her boobs. Claims she just wanted to feel womanly, and it has nothing to do with attracting guys.

That’s all I can remember and I do believe this is my longest post ever.

Fire: I don't think the crew started it or coaxed it along. I do believe however they have a "rule" to leave whatever alone unless it endangers the surrounding habitat. Screw the fact that the monkeys eat the food ... screw the fires ... screw the floods ... but if it affects the habitat OUTSIDE of camp, then they'll step in (off camera) and do what they can. That's why the fire was already out when the team returned to camp ... the crew had to put it out before it burned out of control and took 1/2 the Amazon with it.

Who's next: If Jenna is weak, everyone will want to take her to the final two. Even Rob has a better chance than she does of having the jury pick him for the million. My guess is that (immunity withstanding) Matt would be next on the chopping block, followed by Butch. My guess is that the next vote will be a 2-2 tie. Butch & Matt voting for Rob, Rob & Jenna voting for whoever doesn't have immunity (Butch probably). We haven't seen a vote tie breaker in ages now ... so I'd actually love to see what happens with a tie breaker. Thumb wars anyone?? :lol

Heidi did look very pretty on the Early Show. Her face had filled out, her skin was clear, and her hair looked nice. I'm sure all the Survivors enjoy being able to shower, eat, and clean up, after being in the Amazon for so long.

I disagree about how Heidi looked on the Early show. Even though she had filled out a little and her hair was brushed she still looked unattractive to me. (Don't know from a guy's perspective how she comes across.) I thought her hair was way too long and way too bleached and just don't find her looks attractive.
