Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

"Did anyone else find it odd that they didn't discuss the Sue/Rich incident. I know it's probably a sore subject, but you would think they would have at least touched on it a little bit. Like, for instance, are they on speaking terms?"

Did anyone notice that Sue had her back turned to Rich so she wouldn't see him at all? She was always turned slightly to her right. Also she wasn't in the right place. She was supposed to be on the other side of Rich instead of sitting beside Rob according to how they were voted out.

It would not suprise me if CBS broadcasts the wedding.

Can anyone give a recap from the CBS site on why each player thinks we should vote for them?
Thanks!
Alicia: Look, I am always honest. Always truthful. I give it to you straight. I'll tell it to your face. And I'm not afraid to go toe-to-toe with people. That's the way I played the game from the very beginning. If you're tough, and you say what's on your mind, and you're not afraid to do that -- you should vote for me. Because that's the way I am, and I think that's a person that deserves the million dollars.

Amber: I need to ask for another million after I already got one, plus a beautiful engagement ring tonight. But why not two? So vote for me for another million.

Colby: Alright, I never, ever, would be so bold to say that I deserve to win the million dollars more than anyone else does. But I will tell you this. Out of eight seasons, I am the guy that has ever stood by his word, honored his alliance knowing it was going to cost him a million dollars. Four years it's been; I sleep good at night . I'd sleep a lot better if I made up some of that money.

Ethan: Listen, I don't need the money. But I think I deserve it because I will split that money up evenly and give it to each survivor's charity of their choice. So that's why you should give me the money.

Jenna L: Why do I deserve the million dollars? Because I have twins to support and I was third in all-star and if my foot didn't slip, I wouldn't need to ask you for a million dollars because I would already have it. However, I'm not here to plead for me, I am here to plead for Rupert. I betrayed him in the game. He’s the most popular on CBS. He's played two games back to back. He deserves it. Unless everybody that's ever tye died, everyone that listens to the grateful dead and everyone that wants to be a pirate doesn't vote, and they cut off Indiana and most of the southern states. Rupert's going to win anyway. So, I am saying for my best friend, that I betrayed in the game, vote for Rupert. He deserves it.

Jenna M: Umm, I don't need a million dollars. And as much as Rob Cesternino wants me to come in here and tell you to give him the million dollars, the only thing I can think of to do with the million dollars is to give it all to breast cancer research because it's mother's day and it's the finale of my mom's favorite show. So, if you give it to me, that's what I am going to do with it, nothing special. So, it's up to you now.

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CLIP, A MESSAGE READS, "JERRI ELECTED NOT TO PARTICIPATE"

Kathy: I know how to play the game of Survivor. I got robbed the first time on Survivor Marquesas -- came in No. 3. And I totally deserve the million bucks because I understand how to play it. I work hard. I appreciate the players. I play with integrity. I don't lie to people. I do know how to play the game. So give me the million bucks. I'll give half of it to my foundation. Bam! (snaps fingers)

Lex: Why do I deserve the million bucks. Honestly, I don't think it's about deserving anything. All of us I think deserve to get a million dollars. But if I got to make a plea, I guess I'll just say. You know, I played the game twice with my heart -- the only way I can play it. I think you guys should vote with your hearts. So, if you guys decide to give me the million dollars, my wife, my kids and I thank you. Peace.

Richard: All of us here are good folks. We really are. All of them. All the people that are teary and angry et cetera. But give it to the guy who's played the game best. That's me.

Rob C: Hey guys, remember me? Rob C. Your old buddy from Survivor The Amazon. Here's my pitch to you. I was the greatest player never to win. I lost twice. I'm not going to have another chance at this. This is your chance to hook a brotha up. But, here's what I will do. If I win, I will give half the money to Rupert. And I'll take Big Tom out to dinner. Half the money to Rupert. Big Tom out to dinner. Rob player. Cesternino out!

Rob M: So Why do I deserve the million dollars. Well, anybody that watched tonight, I think we all saw that we had a jury of sour grapes. Let's make my dream come true. Give me a million dollars. I think everybody knows that I play the game the best. That's it. Straight up. Honest. You want honesty? This time, I'm not lying. Give me the million.

Rudy: If I win the million dollars, I'm going to give it to my kids. And I don't like people mooching money off me. I just say, go see my kids. Cuz that happened before.

Rupert: The reason I need that million dollars, let alone the fact that my daughter turns five on the 13th, let alone that this will be my third time, my third chance. Third times the charm. But it would help my family, myself, my momma, my kids I mentor, my kids help program that I am starting. There are so many people in Indianapolis that this would help. (pauses) You know, I appreciate, win or lose, I appreciate it on the count of everybody out there. Thanks.

Shii Ann: It's been four months, but I still want to win this game as much as ever. I played as hard as I could in the show, beating out all the other Mogo Mogo members, even in the end winning immunity. And I feel like I deserve the million dollars because of my strategy, because of my ability to outwit, outplay and outlast all of members. And because of the reason that I didn’t win was because of a merge that was against our favor. So, hopefully, you'll vote for me and I'll be seeing you at the next finale. Thanks.

Susan: Hey, you might love me or hate me. But be as it may, I did suck you people into watching this game from Survivor 1. And if you don't vote for me, I hope you lie dying of thirst in a desert. And the vultures pluck your eyeballs out. And the only thing left in the end, will be your teeth. (smiles).

Tina: Hi guys. I am supposed to tell you why you should vote for me to win a million bucks. Truth of the matter is, Survivor's already given me a million bucks. And I don't need it. Nor do I not want it. I think you ought to vote for someone who's going to do good with the money. Because it's a great opportunity to help other people. And so, whoever you vote for, vote for someone who's going to give the money away to other people. God bless you all.

Tom: Hey guys, I want to thank you all for even having me on All Star, but I got another question. The first time in Africa I lost 62 pounds and I stayed 30-some days. Didn't win the million. Didn't win any money . This time, I learned to swim, and stayed 30-some days, which makes me the longest-playing survivor. I stayed the longest. So give me your vote -- for -- the million dollars. I appreciate it . But, I'm pretty much deserving it too. I hope so. Anyway, I played the game straight up, and that's the deal.

Rupert?

Although I thought All Stars was oh-hum, I thought the finale was the best ever. Rob and Amber are getting married and I believe are truly in love. Richard finds love in Argentina. Ethan and Jenna are a couple. Sue has an extreme makeover and Jenna gets married this past weekend!

Rob said (on the Early Show) he told Mark Burnett ten minutes before the show, he had a surprise for everyone including MB and Mark was going crazy, because for the first time, he didn't have control on what was going to happen.

Also on the Early Show, Rudy said if he wins the $1,000,000, he will give $500,000 of it to the families of his buddies fighting and dying in Iraq.

I am going to CBS.com now. It is my understanding from last night there would be videotape available from everyone pleading their case and why they are deserving of the $1 million and Jeff did say we wouldn't be able to vote for Amber and I though he said Rob too.

I'm thinking that they came up with this twist because they thought people will be disappointed with Amber winning. You have all the great players and then Amber, the original, boring, under-the-radar player, wins. Voting for another winner gives the audience a chance to feel more satisfied with the outcome.

Lex really gets on my nerves--he did in Africa and he did in this show. He really can't see how hypocritical he's being. He and Tom did have a secret alliance--that was revealed by someone in an earlier show.

I think Jenna went with the wrong strategy in the end. She had to have known the final challenge would be endurance--she had a better shot at winning with the rock. She would look good to the jury--that she chose her alliance over the money. I think she could have beat Rupert--he's popular with the audience, but not so much with the other survivors. I think they saw Rupert as not being personally responsible for being where he was and would have given Jenna credit for her loyalty.

It was interesting to see how these All-Stars played. They played so conservatively, relying on alliances, not willing to take chances. I think maybe because so many of them came from pre-Rob C. era where alliances and loyalties were so important and that's how the game was played. Those who played well and were known for breaking alliances and not being trustworthy were mostly voted off in the beginning. Playing a clean game was more valued than playing a smart game.

Was it just me or did most of the women on the jury look better when they were playing the game? Their make up looked awful, I thought. In tribal council Alicia actually looked scary. Yes, I realize the lighting was bad, but I thought that they looked better at tribal council when they had no make up on.

I was also wondering how giving this bonus million might affect future games. Or at least the next game. If the contestants believe there is a chance at winning money if the viewers like them, might they play more honorably?

I think that Sue and Richard are just letting the whole situation between them die. And it may be one of those things that were agreed upon not to be brought up.

When I saw Amber get immunity, I knew right then and there that Rupert was gone.

Jenna said that lifting her foot up would always haunt her. But I think that voting Rupert off and not doing the pebble thing will haunt her more. But, I don't honestly think that she would have won in any case.

Like the host on the Early Show said, if only Lex and Kathy had gotten rid of Amber, then the show would have had a different turn out. That is where the most regret will lie. And the others for not getting rid of BR when they had the chance.

Shii Ann just had to bring up that she and Tom talked about getting rid of BR. I'm sure that they did but that she instigated it, not Tom. That's what Tom was trying to say. That, yes, he discussed getting rid of him but he held true to his alliance all of the way. Or at least that was what was coming across to me.

And I'm sorry but I disagree about Lex and Rob. Lex had no alliance with Colby and Ethan. And maybe he didn't have an alliance with Rob but Rob made a deal, which to me, is that same as an alliance. Rob did what he does best and played Lex to be a fool. Lex held up his side of the bargain and Rob did not. He did the same to Rob C. and Alicia too. And, yes, maybe Lex had an alliance with Jerri but he let his friendship with BR come first. I know that Kathy actually had the final say but she had a friendship with BR that didn't come out until last night.

As far as Jerri, I agree that the crowd was very harsh with her. But they all agreed to be on the show which put them in the spotlight.

I would have enjoyed this season much more if BR had been voted out earlier. It was obvious that he was going to the end.

And no one can say that he didn't win. He's going to marry the girl with the million. There is no actual second place this time around, it's only a title. There are two sharing first place.

This thread WAS set up as a non RUMOURS thread

That is what I meant a couple of days ago when I protested information brought in, I just used the wrong word. I figured, on my own, that it would be Romber at the end. I know that I didn't have to read the post but did so hoping to hear something totally different. And all it did was "spoil" things for me. Just like last season when a "rumor" was brought in that Jenna M. was going to win. Even though at the time, it didn't look like it, that info was in the back of my mind and made last season less enjoyable. And that was what I was trying to get at.

Last night was not enjoyable for me. I believe BR play the game well but I don't care for him. I wish he and Amber all the best but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I think that even though Rupert would have liked to have won, he was happy with his fourth place finish. He knew what Rob was doing when Rob started the argument between him and Tom. So I think that he knew that he wasn't going to get any farther even though it showed him saying that he thought Jenna wouldn't vote for him.

As far as Jenna getting the car, no, I don't think that Amber cared for her. And I think it was BR who told her who to give it to. She deserved it for voting without bias.

Does anyone really think that the friendships will all heal?

If I vote, I'm thinking about voting for Rob C. since he is the one who played the best and never won. But I will have to think about it. He is pretty cocky too but I never despised him like I do BR.

The host on the Early Show asked Amber if she were going to give some of her money to charity like she said she would at TC. She sort of hedged on that but did say yes after a couple of seconds. Hmmm.

It will be interesting to follow Amber and Rob in the coming months. And the big rock on her finger (I'm going to be catty), sure he can afford that. He has access the the million one way or the other.

Good News, The Amazing Race is coming back! Yay!

I thought Amber looked a bit "off" last night - as if she were miffed about something...maybe at BR for stealing her thunder as the winner by asking her to marry him?

Wouldn't surprise me at all if MB didn't produce and pay their wedding for CBS.

Thought Amber gave Shii Ann the car for being the one at TC to announce that she was voting for the person who'd sneak up and win the whole thing. Why did they determine that "she" was the swing vote? Any one of them could've said that they were the deciding vote.

I'm sure Rupert will win the extra million - he's definitely the audience favorite.

Jerri declined to beg - good for her - but she also knew she'd have to see herself getting like 1% of the final vote. She just spared herself further humiliation.

Why did they determine that "she" was the swing vote?

Because when they asked if anyone would have changed the way they would have voted if Rob and taken Jenna instead of Amber, Shii Ann was the only one who would have changed.

I know we are in the minority, but I completely agree. Lex had no alliance, no deal with Colby or Ethan. Boston Rob broke his word all over the place. To me it seems just unfair to call Lex names and say he did the same thing as Boston Rob...he simply did not.

Good News, The Amazing Race is coming back! Yay!

I could clearly hear BR telling Ambah to "pick this one on your own" or something to that effect, she kept asking him who to pick and he kept telling her she was on her own with this decision.

I love the Amazing race, when does it start??:Pinkbounc

Well then, let me join this minority, because I agree completely.

I think most people see Lex as a hypocrite because he used the excuse that eh couldn't let friendship get in the way of voting off Colby and Ethan, and yet harps on how Rob should have been his friend and not voted him out. He can't have it both ways.

Something was up with Amber last night. She just looked PISSED the entire time. Weird.

Jerri:rolleyes:

The vote was designed to give Rupert the million dollars he can't win because no Survivor player would ever go willingly to the Final Two with him. Without Rupert playing this season, CBS wouldn't have put up the second mil.

Just my $.02:

Ambuh - Didn't deserve the million at all. She only got ONE vote that was actually cast FOR her, the others were all whiny votes AGAINST Rob. If not for him, she doesn't make the jury, let alone the final two.

Rob - Should have won, but had to deal with the childish behavior of the fat pig farmer and the punk that should be old enough to know better. I felt sorry for him last night, and he should have knocked Tom's lights out at tribal.

Rupert - Played the game fairly honorably, and it cost him in the end. Still, I figure it will land him the "extra" million from the fans that seem to enjoy the big dufus:rolleyes:

Jenna - Played a smart game, and deserved third place. I really did feel sorry for her at the final challenge, 'cause she knew it was over when her foot slipped.

ShiAnn - Couldn't stand her during the game, but was SO happy with what she said at tribal council. One of the VERY few to vote for who she thought should win the game, instead of voting out of childish spite. Was glad she got the car for that reason.

Little Tom - Came off as more of an ignorant jerk than I've ever seen him. The "handshake" thing just goes to show that all the comments made about him being dumb probably didn't go far enough. REALLY childish, and I REALLY would have liked to see Rob laugh in his face.

Richard - One of the few to actually get the idea...IT'S A GAME...

Rudy - If he'd "done something (he) might have regretted" he'd likely have found out that he ain't as young as he used to be:rolleyes: Somehow, I think the 20 something year old construction worker could probably have taken the cantankerous old fart :hyper:

Lex -   Hello Pot, this is the Kettle...I got somethin' I gotta tell ya'

Jerri - Like one of the other contestants pointed out after her little speech, they all signed up for this voluntarily...and not just once but twice. Sorry, but you're not going to get a lot of sympathy from me when you brought this on yourself.

I think that's all the hot spots....I'm sure I'll think of something I want to add later :)

These are two entirely different situations. Lex had FRIENDSHIPS with Colby and Ethan. He had a FRIENDSHIP AND an ALLIANCE with Rob when they made the deal to keep "Ambuh".

I am sure CBS will be saying this was a one time thing, and I am sure it is. I am just wondering how it might affect future play. I would think that as a contestant, you would always have in the back of your mind that one player once became so popular that they changed the rules for him ( I think we can all ageree that this twist was adopted specifically because of the way people feel about Rupert ? )............and there is always the possibility it might happen again.
and yet harps on how Rob should have been his friend and not voted him out.

Lex harps on how Rob should have been his friend AND KEPT HIS WORD ....not the same thing at all.

I think they said July 10th. I love Survivor but I love AR even more!

This isn't about friendship, it's about business !
- Lex after voting out Ethan.

Sorry, but you don't get a "get out of jail free card" for stabbing a friend in the chest instead of the back.

It's a GAME, and Rob bluffed...and Lex fell for it. He didn't say, "Lex, as thy friend, I emplore thee to save fair maiden, and I shall be forever endebted to thou, putting thine own needs before mine own".

He said, "Hey, take care of her and I'll take care of you".

Sorry, but there's a BIG difference there.
