Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

Sorry, but there's a BIG difference there.

You may see a difference, but isn't the point whether or not Lex saw it that way? And if he saw it differently than you did, is he not entitled to feel the way he does?

Since none of us is privy to exactly what kind of relationship Lex and Rob had, how can we possibly determine what Lex interpreted Rob to be saying that day?

The fact that we may have interpreted it differently hardly gives us the right to call Lex names for the way he feels.

Okay - add my .02 to your .02!!

I was thinking about posting, but I had so MUCH to say - I read your post and now mine is unnecessary! You said EXACTLY what I wanted to say - for every contestant!! (Must be a WV thing! Beckley born!)

I especially liked the Lex quote!

Thanks for your perspective - which was the same as mine!

For anyone confused about Not being able to vote for Rob or Amber for the Million... I Think Jeff said that the Extra Car couldnt be given to them because each had already gotten one. I dont think it has to do with the million dollars....Thats what I got out of it. I think Rob definately deserves to win for 2 reasons...1 he played the GAME masterfully and 2. Amber looks like she could be high maintenence. I could be wrong but you never know.

But I'm not calling Lex any names for the way he feels. I'm calling him names - actually, just one: whiner - for the way he's ACTING about it. The FACT is that to virtually EVERY impartial observer, including Jeff Probst, Lex is coming off as a huge hypocrite for criticizing Rob for doing EXACTLY what he did to Colby and Ethan.

Again, the quote I posted came from LEX...so, how can he get so worked up about Rob putting business (getting rid of a strong player) over friendship ? That, to me, is the very definition of hypocracy.

It's a GAME, and Rob bluffed...and Lex fell for it. He didn't say, "Lex, as thy friend, I emplore thee to save fair maiden, and I shall be forever endebted to thou, putting thine own needs before mine own".

LOL:teeth:

That was a very entertaining reunion last night!!! :D

To me the difference is the fact that Rob said that he would take care of Lex. He went to him AS A FRIEND. Lex did the favor AS A FRIEND.

If Rob had not said anything to Lex, but Lex saved Amber anyway HOPING that Rob would return the favor then Lex would be a hypocrite. But the fact that Rob specifically asked Lex makes the difference to me.

Ethan and Colby did not ask Lex a favor as a friend. If they did and Lex turned on them he would be like Boston Rob.

I think Rob should have saved Lex once. Favor repaid. JMHO. :)

But I think Rob ended his "Take care of my girl and I'll take care of you" was ended with "if I can." Turned out he couldn't ... but the reason he couldn't was through his own manipulation of everyone else.

Between Jenna, Ambuh and Rob, I would have chosen Rob to win, just because he played the game and the women didn't.

And I, too, wanted to see Rupert win. But as soon as he lost immunity, I knew he was out.

I am also in the minority; I think Rob would have made a BIG difference if he didn't turn around and vote Lex out FIRST, right after he did Rob (his good friend outside of the game) a HUGE favor. He (lex) didn't do Colby and Ethan a huge favor- and they didn't do one for him. Yes, it's a game, but I for one can see why it was different. I think Lex carried on a bit too long about it, but from what I understand, they were really good buddies before the show; Lex, Kathy and Rob did stuff together outside of Survivor stunts so I think that is why Lex and Kathy were so hurt.

I know, I know, you're all gonna say it's just a game.

Does anyone else think that this Thursday's show will have MORE than just the tribe members from All Stars? Seeing how they have so many different questions listed (Best fight, Sexiest, Best villian......................), I wonder if they will have winners in each category. Maybe not for a cash prize (Lord knows, I DO NOT want to see Johnny Fairplay walk away with anything!! :earseek: ), but maybe some sort of trophy. :D

Just found this on tvguide.com

AN ALL-STAR IS BORN:
More than 24 million viewers watched 25-year-old professional canoodler/coattail-rider Amber Brkich win Survivor: All-Stars last night. In addition to a cool $1 million, the Outback grad also won a marriage proposal (and some serious bling) from runner-up/boyfriend Robfather Mariano during the live reunion show. But the big twist of the night was Jeff Probst's announcement that a second $1-million check would be presented to viewers' favorite All-Star Thursday in prime time. Head to CBS.com to cast your vote. As Big Tom would say, "Don't be stupid, stupid" — vote for Rupert!

Isn't it weird that on TVGuide.com they are telling you to vote for Rupert?

While washing dishes this afternoon, I began to wonder who I might vote for if I decided to vote. I like Shii Ann but no, not her. Big Tom is a favorite too, but no, not him either. I thought, how about Rob C.? After all, he is the best player to have never won, but something about him......

So, I decided to vote for Rupert. I liked what he said on his plea, that there were so many people he could help with the money. Rupert is my most favorite player in all the Survivors along with Elizabeth and Rodger.

I know, some people think that Rupert is whiny but even Boston Rob whined when beloved Amber was placed in the other tribe.

What sold me on Rupert was his stealing the shoes at the very beginning of last season's show.

Now, how did you all answer the questions?

Villian - Johnny Fairplay
Best Moment - Rupert stealing shoes
Best Fight - Rob and that guy he threw off the log
Best looking - Elizabeth and that one guy, Antone?

I also was going to post in detail, but WVRevy has taken the words right out of my mouth!:p .......................P

Too much whining and complaining last night. My highlight was the Amazing Race preview!:D

I don't want to see "Survivor~~The Wedding". Please CBS, Don't do it! There's nothing likable about those 2. YUCK!

I thought Sue looked strange after her makeover. She always talked out of the side of her mouth, but with that strectched skin, her mouth itself looks crooked.

I liked Jerri during this Survivor, but she was off her rocker last night. All of a sudden she is against the current reality tv trend? Let's see.......she was on TWO Survivors and that other reality tv show last year where "celebrities" like her, Webster and Corey Feldman all shared the house together.

Did Lex have blue hair or was it just my tv?

Is anyone not going to vote for Rupert?

I don't mean that to be sarcasm, I really would like to know if anyone is going to vote for someone else.

not sure who i'm going to vote for yet, i'm gonna look through the videos first. but i'm not voting for rupert- he's already getting too many. and also in my opinion he didn't deserve to get the first million so he doesn't deserve to get this million. isn't that what this is supposed to be for? to vote for who we think deserves to win because they played the game well and not just who is the fan's favorite? sorry if i've offended any rupert fans but this is my opinion.

after watching the early show, i'm thinking my vote might go to rudy.

My Oh My Oh My!! What a reunion show that was. Said it before and will say it again: SO glad that Jeff is now hosting these reunion shows. No one knows the Survivors better (unlike Brian Gumble) and he has no hidden agenda (unlike Rosie) and he keeps things moving and gets to the heart of what we want to know.

No surprise as to the Amber/Rob win. I'm happy for them both and I truly hope their union lasts.

Seeing someone for 39 days at both their highest highs and their lowest lows can form deep bonds but (and this will sound real cynical) so do bonds form between kidnapped victims and their captors (Patty Hearst being just one case in point). Let's face it, those 39 days were not spent in "real life" situations. However, I sincerely hope this is the real deal for them and that it lasts in real life.

So much more to say but gotta get with the dinner.

Yes, Tink, Lex had blue hair!

you saw it right his hair was blue and he whined all night
give it up already you got out played
Jeri was the only one worse

I think it's to vote for whomever you want to, for whatever reason you choose.

To me the difference is the fact that Rob said that he would take care of Lex. He went to him AS A FRIEND. Lex did the favor AS A FRIEND.
Kathy even told Rob at the final TC that Rob had asked a favor OUTSIDE OF THE GAME and Lex helped him. When they showed the clip at the beginning of the show where Rob asks Lex for the favor, you can see Rob is hurting. He had genuine feelings for Amber and was asking, as one friend to another, please save my girlfriend. I think All Stars was harder for the participants this time around because most of them had formed genuine friendships, from charity functions, etc, before the show began. Rob can say he wasn't asking as a friend, but the look on his face said different.

As for the Romber mariage, I don't think it will last. You have two people who didn't even really like each other when the show started, bonding together under stressful conditions. Once all the All Stars hoopla dies down, I think the relationship will cool off.
