DH had been looking forward to today because we were eating with Donald and the gang. I have to say this is one of his favorite places to eat. I agree actually. The food here is wonderful and you get to see Daisy!! So we got up and got the kids ready and off we went to AK. Just about the time we got to the park, it started to rain a little. So since we were early, we made a pitstop and bought some ponchos. After spending a fortune for some sheets of plastic,

we made our way over to Tusker House. I signed us in and got the pager while dh parked the stroller and proceeded to use said sheets of plastic to cover it. While we were waiting Baloo and King Louie came out to mingle with the crowd so of course we got in line. Ashton had his first encounter with characters he did not like. King Louie tried to hug him and he was in full out hysterics! Wouldn't even touch him. Baloo came over and he wasn't interested in him either. Baloo kept trying though and finally managed a hug but the entire time Ashton was just sobbing. Here is Baloo trying to console Ashton...
Finally it was time to eat! Now remember, I said how much we enjoy this and how much dh was looking forward to it right??? Well I hate to say it, but we had our first bad experience here. After we were seated and our waiter took our drink orders I waltzed over to start fixing plates for the kids. Well as I get to the buffet, I hear one of the waitresses complaining about a guest and to say her language was foul would be putting it nicely. Thank goodness Aubrey was not with me!

I couldn't believe it. Anyway, after collecting my jaw off the floor, I made it back with the kids food and then was able to get some of my own. Once again the food was great, the characters were great. Aside from our waiter going MIA it really was a good meal and experience and we will do it again. Here are a few pics for you..
I could not figure out why Aubrey was making this face, afterwards she informed us that Goofy had stepped on her toe on her left foot.
Next up was Mickey...
Who happened to step on Aubrey's toe on her right foot!
After Aubrey limped out of the place, we headed over to take us a two week Safari. We had the best driver ever! His name was Brett and he was awesome. The type of CM you remember reading about when all CM's loved their jobs and had pride that they worked there. Anyway, because we were using the stroller as a wheelchair we had to ride the bus designated for handicapped persons or those with special assistance needs. No bother for us, we didn't mind at all. Because of this though, we had to wait as these vehicles leave at certain times, such as every 10 mins or so. (Not sure the exact, just know he had to check the clock since our vehicle wasn't full) So while we were waiting he made a few announcements and this man who was from NJ started being funny. He asked Brett if he could "sing us a little diddy" while we waited. Brett tells him sure, throws the microphone back and starts singing Jail House Rock! He actually could sing too! So then Brett started reffering to the NJ guy as Elvis! They bantered on the entire Safari. Elvis asked Brett if we would see any yellow bellied sap suckers and so from then on out, Brett would say "Look there's a yellow bellied sap sucker", I mean "Look, there's a lion!"

It was an absolute trip. We all thanked Brett for a wonderful ride and everyone was in stitches when we got off!
After our safari, Aubrey and I were ready to tackle Everest. Neither one of us had ever ridden this one. The first year it opened I was pregnant with Ashton and couldn't ride, then last year Aubrey was still a smidge too short so I decided not to ride it until she could. So we were finally going to see the yeti!
Here are a few pics from the ride...
We wanted to see Nemo and Friends after, but the next show was not for a few hours yet. Aubrey was getting hungry again and it was starting to rain a bit harder. Since this was the day Fay was coming ashore and the weather was suppose to be bad later in the day, we asked Aubrey what she wanted to do next. AK is not an all day park for us. In fact, it is actually our least favorite and if the safari and EE weren't there (along with Donalds Bk) I doubt we would even go to AK. I hope that they will continue to add things to this park, I do believe it has real potential, it just isn't up to par with the others just yet.
Anyhoo, Aubrey decided to go back to HS. She wanted to ride TSM again and this time she wanted to see Ariel. So we hopped a bus over and told her we were only going to do a few things before going back to the room since it was starting to rain a bit heavier at this point.
We made our way over to TSM and this time I got to ride with Ashton and Buddy rode with Aubrey. Aubrey again just loved it. Next up we had finished just in time for the next Little Mermaid show, so we went in there next. I wasn't sure how Ashton would do as he isn't into sitting still these days, but he loved it. He especially likes Flounder. So everytime Flounder showed up, he went crazy.
We had avoided gift shops, etc so far on the trip. The kids have way too much stuff as it is and I didn't want to have to deal with packing it etc as well as most things can be bought elsewhere cheaper. But we decided that we should probably let them get something new in case we had to spend some time in the room due to Fay. We thought it would be a good sanity keeper for ourselves! So after TLM we told Aubrey to pick out one toy for herself and one toy for Ashton. Well she picked out identical stuffed flounders because "Ashton loves Flounder and I do too."
We were going to get something to eat and then maybe one more ride before heading to the room. Well somewhere along the way, the rain picked up, Aubrey had a meltdown, dh had a meltdown over her meltdown and I had enough of both of them and declared that we were heading to a bus and would eat at the resort. As we are walking out to go to the bus, I slipped in a slick spot and fell. Now I still have not figured this out, but I landed directly on my left knee cap and my right leg was extended straight out under the stroller!

My knee is still sore and bruised and dh thinks it will be several weeks before it is back to normal! I am happy to say though that we made it back to our room, dh went and got food while I dried everyone else off and it wasn't much longer before we were all in bed asleep again. Of course the kids played with their new Flounders for a while before falling asleep with them!
I guess we never got any pics of Ashton sleeping with his flounder, but it was identical.
Up next, Day 6 more rain and bye bye baby!
