ours was also email and we don;t have a trip booked........to USO that is, we are booked for WDW over Christmas...interesting eh? Since our survey was the one on comparing USO tix to WDW tix. I am nervous however, since our next Orlando trip is to include USO, the rates for tix they were showing in the survey were HIGH...would possibly knock it right our for us.

I think it's a great idea, but I still wouldn't stay on-site until there are some more moderately priced hotels. Not even fussed about FOTL; if they offered a reasonable hotel (we like the Four Points nearby on I-Drive) for a reasonable price I would definitely stay on-site even without FOTL. I just cannot justify paying more than $100/night for a room.

heck, it is difficult to even get a disney room on site for $100 a night!

i'm booked there again for next october and the rooms run, based on the date, are $105 and $115 plus tax per night.

i have not seen rates less than $100 a night for the universal hotels in ages..
i can still remember when rph had a promo for $79 a night plus tax.

the cheapest i have ever paid for UO on site hotels was $112 plus tax.
that was when the entertainment rate was in effect.

Which is why I'd never stay on-site at Disney either. You can get some nice 3/4* hotels off-site for $100/night if you do your research.

Sadly that will never happen for me as I have to travel during school vacation times - Christmas, spring break and summer. Even so, my 3* hotel on I-Drive is costing $65 inc. taxes per night for spring break 2010. My flights were under $500 from the UK - I can't justify more than TWICE that for the hotel room for a 10-night stay!
