Well, my sis and I went for an afternoon/night trip yesterday and we had a few surprises!! No, not any dreams (I am so over that promo BTW...) Anyways, we expected it to be packed, but it wasn't that bad at all. I'll explain as I go. First of all, the new parade in DCA. I know Albort posted pics already (thanks!), but here some that I took. Sorry the quality is not top-notch.

We sat right at the beginning b/c we had just checked out Turtle Talk (which, surprise, is really funny!) First out of the parade is McQueen, and the end of the parade is Mater. Water is constantly squirting out from all the floats and the parade dancers. We sat back from the parade line as we weren't in the mood to get wet. The people in front of us were actually annoyed by the middle of the parade, because you actually do get pretty wet!

Then comes Monster Inc.

The Incredibles! The weakest display in my view and I was hoping to see the other kids.

I took a pic of all the bubbles. Foam was flying off the Nemo float as well.

Ratatoullie, which I never saw, so I really don't have a comment on it. my sis saw it and she said it was good. I know I probably spelled it wrong.

Then, Toy Story, which was pretty good.

There were about 30 CM following the parade, with check sheets, cleaning crews, etc. I am sure they were making sure it ran perfectly before it's debut today.
The music was okay, the dancing was not what I expected at all. It was just kind of hip-thrusting, lip-syncing, and corny. The acrobats on the Ratatoullie and Toy Story floats were cool. The buys on those springy shoes did some cool stuff too.

In short, I miss the Block Party Bash.

In other news:

The fireworks got canceled, which sucked beyond belief, and we watched most of the Electrical Parade and ran over to DL to watch the fireworks. Indiana was having problems all day, but we walked on twice. Our longest line was Matterhorn (??) which was about 20 minutes. I suggest doing the Jungle Cruise at night for a totally different experience than in the day.

Any Q's?? Let me know!

Great pics! Thanks for the 411!

My son is going to LOOOOOOVE that parade! I can't wait until spring break is over and I can go back!

but I need more info on the "getting WET!" thing. Are the water jets just kind of random? How far back do you need to be so you don't get wet? Actually, my main concern is the baby in the stroller - she won't take kindly to being squirted! But my older two will absolutely be INSANE about being close to the front - these are all their favorite characters! Should we just throw a rain poncho over her to keep her and the stroller dry? She won't be thrilled if she can't see, but having a sopping stroller would kind of ruin the rest of the day for everyone!

Thanks for the pics. The parade looks fun and my kids will love seeing the characters they are familiar with but I have a feeling it's going to make me miss BPB even more. :( I just loved that parade and was so sad to see it go.

What great pics... thanks for sharing :thumbsup2

You don't get sopping wet...not even close. The squirters on the floats are totally random...they show no partiality. However, most of the characters and performers have their own water sources that they control, and I don't think they would intentionally squirt a baby. We were sitting about 8 feet back from the front line, and were elevated and I didn't get a drop. My sis only got one squirt.

They warn you before the parade starts that you will get wet. I would maybe just hold your baby and try to dodge. You can see it coming at you. Have fun and don't worry to much.

We saw it this morning as we were waiting in the line for the Playhouse Disney show. It was perfect as it was a great view as well as a great way to be entertained during the wait! We didn't get wet at all though there was a row of people directly in front of us. They certainly didn't get soaked or anything and yeah, it was definitely random. To me they seemed to aim for the kids that were actually wanting it.

Nice pics you got there. So it really wasnt busy yesterday, huh? I heard its suposed to BLOW UP in about a week.:lmao:

Thanks for the review and pics - can't wait to see it for oursleves in May. :hippie:

I like your phrasing. I would expect such an explosion myself. I was actually expecting it on Thursday, but it was quite manageable. :goodvibes

It does suck that the fireworks got cancelled! But you are very lucky that the longest line you were in was 20 minutes long! When I last went the longest line I was in was 3 hours and 45 minutes long! I agree that the Jungle Cruise is better at night! I Loved your pics ;)

Wes actually has a pretty bad runny nose, so I walked him in the stroller instead and lifted weights at home. Ha! I DID work out. As if running around DL wasn't a workout in itself...
