Surprise... It's Someday!! A Dec 2010 PTR!!

NEVER apologize for sidestepping from your PTR. You will find a LOT of us will sidestep and talk about important events in our children's lives (I did it last year during my son's last year of wrestling in college).

I LOVE the pictures of the party--it looks like great fun. But my favorite pic is the one of the 3 loves of your life!

Thanks! I love that picture! I think I am going to have it made into an 8X10 for the wall. I know it would have been better had they all been looking at the camera but when the kids are this young you have to take what you can get. It just reminds me that I really am blessed. I have an amazing family. I think the only thing I would change, if I could, would be Gavin would have better health...but what we go through, makes us who we are. I accept that and we deal with it. I was just so glad that he had a great birthday. Last year he was so sick at his birthday. I'll post a picture from last year so you can compare. There is such a big difference.

Here is a picture from last years party. Gavin was so sick as you can tell from the picture. Just too look in those eyes makes me sad. The cupcake he is holding he never got to eat. It was a little over 2 weeks later that he had to have surgery, again. What an amazing difference from 1 year to the next. Don't get me wrong he still has some bad days but I am so thankful that he got to really enjoy this year's birthday. The kind of day he had this year at his party is the kind of days I am praying for in Disney.

This year is posted above...
Last year...

Oh, Tam, that picture brought a tear to my eye. The Gavin this year looks so bright and happy and full of mischief as compared to last year. I believe a lot of that has to do with the love of his mom. :)

Thanks, I am really the lucky one! I can never stress enough how very lucky I am to have Gavin, Brenda and Jon. My family is my world. I looked through the pictures from last years party and Gavin really was miserable. By the end I was crying. Then I looked at this years picture. I know that Gavin is soon due for Surgery again, but if he continues to look this healthy we are ok with surgery every 3-6 months. Just the improvement in those pictures... wow! Brings a tear to my eye too. I really like have my energetic little man... love having my hands full! :rotfl2:

LOVE the birthday pics! Sounds like it was an awesome time. You had some fantastic ideas. :thumbsup2 I personally think the Mr. Potato Head looks pretty good. And yes, it's Toy Story, so it counts! I love seeing parts of "real life" too!

I'm so, so, so HAPPY that Gavin could enjoy his birthday party this year - as every little boy should be able to. It makes me count my blessings having a little boy with no health issues. for you on being so strong!!

What a wonderful party. You really went all out. I may need you to plan my next one! LOL!

I am so laughing about the "Pink Woody". That is too funny. When my son was little, the first Toy Story movie had come out. (he is 21 now) and for Christmas Santa had brought him a Woody. Later that day we went to my parents and My Aunt and Uncle had gave him a Buzz. I was video taping him opening his gifts and when he opened it, he was so excited, and I blurted out. "he got a Woddy this morning". LOL! My family is not the kind to pick up on that, so I chuckled to myself, but my BIL quickly looked at me and gave me a smirk. :rotfl:

Hi! Ok, I could swear I subbed to your PTR months ago, but I guess not! So I'm subbing now and I'm going to get caught up in a little while! :cool1:

I am so glad Gavin had an awesome birthday! But then again how could he not, after all he has such an awesome mom!!! Those treat bag ideas sound awesome!!! Great pictures too!

Thanks so much Brooke. Sometimes I feel pretty strong but then I honestly think we are given no more than we can handle. We have been through so much with Gavin but it has also made me grow in many ways. I am not the same person I was a few years ago. I tend to not take too much for granted and I have grown in my faith. I know that helps me greatly.

Thank you. I so enjoy party planning. I guess it all comes down to planning anything. The one thing I was a little disappointed with this year is I didn't do much as far as food went. I always buy the cake as I want it to look awesome but I always try to plan a little meal that goes with the theme. It was simple party food this year. Jon laughs at me and says it was over the top already.

That is too funny! I have to wonder what the creators of Toy Story were thinking with names like Woody and Buzz. Hmmmm... Makes me wonder.

Welcome! Glad to have you with us now. I promise to get to the important trip info soon. Life just gets in the way. :rotfl:

Thank you. I don't see myself as an awesome mom. I simply do what every mother does. I have to be honest. I still have a box of left over stuff from the party that needs unpacked. Jon seems to think there is a favor or 2 in that box. If so I will post a picture.

Today something so funny happened. The first Sunday of every month, at our church, is family Sunday. Instead of the the children having "children's church" they all come up stairs and we enjoy church all together. We were sitting at Church this morning waiting for things to get started and one of the children from Gavin's party came up to us. He wanted to make sure we had his address so that he can get an invitation to Gavin's next birthday party! :lmao: :lmao: His mom walked up behind him and said that is all he has talked about all week! That is too funny... Then after church his slightly older brother came over and told us it would be great if we wanted to invite them to Brenda's birthday. "It was ok that she was a girl...It would be fun anyway!" :rotfl: We howled, it was so funny. I guess the party was a hit! :rotfl2:

That is so funny about the kids!!!! And nice that you know the party was a GREAT one with those kinds of reactions. :thumbsup2

I so understand about challenges making you grow as a person and in your faith. While Henry is a healthy child, just him being a CHILD and me being a stay-at-home Mom, has made me grow! I miss working, I like the independence and the "alone time" I can get from it, but I know home is where I'm supposed to be for now. It makes me grow everyday. Sometimes I'm not so gracious in the growing....

Love the party photos. And just for the record I think Mr. Potato Head was AWESOME! :thumbsup2 It's obvious that you put a lot of love into the planning and executing of the party.

It was nice that I got to see just how much the kids enjoyed the party. It really makes you feel good. I know it sounds silly but it helps that I know the kids had fun.

I am with you, some days I miss work so much... Only I don't always understand that because I taught Preschool! :rotfl: In some ways I am doing the same thing now!

Thanks!! I really try to make sure the birthday kiddo feels special. It seems to be getting harder each year though! :lmao:

Love the birthday update! I'm so glad everyone had so much fun and I'm so happy to know Gavin got to enjoy this one so much more than last year! I'm sure these are memories you will all cherish for a long time!

Thanks! It sure was a memorable birthday for all of us. Each birthday with Gavin is a HUGE reason to celebrate!

Thanks for sharing the pics from the party. Looks like it was a ton of fun. I love it when other kids rave about our parties, gives you that good feeling inside.

can't wait to hear more plans as your vacation gets closer and closer.

Do you want my address now, so I can be invited to Brenda's party? I'm ok with being a little older than everyone else! :rotfl:

Fantastic party!! So imaginative, the kids looked like they were having blast. The Pink Woody thing just cracked me up. That is hilarious about the kids asking to be invited to more parties, you did a great job.

Sure! The more the merrier! I bet Claire and Brenda would get along so well! Do you really feel like driving from Ohio to central PA, in January?!? If so drop me your address! :lmao:

Thanks Tracey! The amazing thing is we didn't break the bank. It didn't cause me to dip into the Disney money... well, not too much. I am a sale shopper!! Brenda is already inviting people. That is how I know she had a great time. She asked me if we could do something like that for her party...only she was Pheanus and Ferb! :rotfl2:
