Surprise, Honey! You're Taking Me to WDW! (6/10) Coming Soon, to a DISboard Near You!

Friday looks like a great day for MK... but we really want to spend a good chunk of time at Epcot. We're both looking forward to spending some kid-free time exploring the WS and Friday will be better than either Saturday or Sunday!

Hopefully we can find a time to connect!

Definitely!

Friday is also a good day for Epcot because the festival doesn't start until Saturday... many people may just wait until the weekend, locals included! :thumbsup2

Kathy

I'm really trying to make this a "smell the roses" kind of trip and not overplan. (Ha! Good luck, right?!) So far I'm thinking Magic Kingdom for Friday and perhaps Animal Kingdom on Saturday. We may brave the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and eat around the World for lunch on Sunday before we leave! :goodvibes

MK would surely be less crowded than Epcot Saturday night and there's a Spectro showing that night... that would be fun!

Kathy

Planning is so much fun, even when you're just watching someone else plan.

I hope you guys have lots to celebrate. :)

Kathy

I'm pretty sure the festival starts Friday, 10/1, but I'm hoping the majority of the locals will wait until Saturday. :confused3

And the F&W Fest usually soft opens on Thursday without any notice.

Whaddya mean, no running? Running is good for the soul!

Or was that walking is good for the soul...?

Oh. Right. It was WALKING is good for the soul.

Unless said soul is traipsing up and down dozens of flights of stairs on a gorgeous Friday in Boston...

Hmmm. V-e-r-y interesting....

I was wondering what we could do Thursday night after settling in to the resort...

Good for my soul, bad for my back!!

I'll stick to walking for now, Meg!

Kathy
I hear ya :goodvibes

Except that I get very out of breath when I run. Of course, all my friends are super-tall (especially compared to my petite 4'10.5" frame), so I have to jog to keep up with their "normal pace".

I'll stick to dancing as excerise. That, and walking around NYC/WDW.

Yeah, there's no way I'd be running a 5k on a romantic three day getaway weekend! Of course, Ryan did his first 5k last weekend and thinks they are fun... so I know I'd have some serious convincing to do!

I am hoping that June brings exciting news to your office!

So glad you ran across that little tidbit, and can now avoid at least some of those crowds! Good idea to steer clear of MK- esp. that morning of the race. Your planning always amazes me. :worship:

Thanks, Margaret. :goodvibes

Hey! JUNE starts tomorrow!!

Knowledge is power, Grasshopper! ;)

Kathy

hmmn...wine and dine. I think (and could be wrong) that you can actually split that 5K in half so it's only 2.5 each as a team.

Just a thought!

:rotfl:

fingers crossed for more hours!

Kathy, I'm finally here. I have a lot of reading to catch up on and will comment soon. :)

Chapter Six: Good Things Come in Threes!

#1 ADRs Made! All two of them! :lmao:

Yes, I know it was an awful lot to think about, but I've finally nailed down both of my ADRs:

Friday 10/1: (Birthday Dinner) California Grill!

Saturday 10/2: (dinner) Citrico's!

:woohoo:////:woohoo:////:woohoo:////:woohoo:////:woohoo:////:woohoo:

#2 After soaking up all the fabulous info on KatMark's [thread=2338336]Coronado Springs Resort FAQ Thread[/thread] ,
I decided to change my room location request from the
Cabanas section to the Casitas section, building Four or Five.

This will position us to use Bus Stop #2 (which is actually the first stop for theme park pick-up.) After reading about CSR and looking at all the gorgeous pix on that thread, I am very excited about my choice of resort!

I've also decided that I will budget for cab fare as needed to get us to the above dinner ADRs, if time gets short.

(Monorail? We don't need no stinkin' monorail!)
:lmao:

#3 And now, what is perhaps the best news of all! The scuttlebutt at work is that a contract has been signed by the new doctor and is currently being reviewed by an attorney! If all goes well, she will join the practice right after Labor Day and I will be able to work full-time!!

Show me the money, Baby!! / :thumbsup2///:thumbsup2///:thumbsup2

As soon as the deal is confirmed I will start planning The Big Reveal!! :ssst:

Kathy

Okay, I'm all caught up. First, sorry the job didn't pan out...but you have to go with what you feel is best and suits you.

I can't comment on your birthday dinner (although you've already decided :rotfl: ) because DH and I have only done one signature restaurant in all of our 20+ years of going to Disney and that was Brown Derby and we were far from impressed. I guess we tend to stay away from them because 1) I'm not big on "fancy" food and 2) we have so many outstanidng restaurants in Chicago that I just don't want to take two or three hours to eat at Disney.

As for the Coronado, I'm sure you can tell from my "unofficial" thread that we absolutely love it there. We've celebrated both of our 50th birthdays, my successful breast cancer surgery and now being cancer free and our 25th wedding anniversary there. We love everything about it. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me either on my PTR or on the CSR thread or send me a PM.

Oh, and one last thing. You mentioned earlier that you were worried about being far away from the MK. Mark and I always rent a car, but since I was asked to take over the CSR thread, I decided I needed to personally take the bus to see how they ran (90% of the time the bus service gets great reviews). We took a bus to the MK arriving at the last Bus Stop (Bus Stop #1) between 5 and 5:30 p.m.; we waited less than five minutes and I timed our ride to the MK. From Bus Stop 1 (again, the last stop picked up before heading to the parks) it was exactly ten minutes to the Magic Kingdom. Also, the CSR buses tend to be near the front for returning to the resorts.

Big money, no whammy, big money, no whammy, STOP!

Kathy, you've just landed on a Dream WDW Trip!

CSR looks gorgeous...definately have to stay there someday (after the Poly, of course!).

YAY! on your ADRs.

And SUPER YAY! on the job dealie!
