Surprise, Honey! You're Taking Me to WDW! (6/10) Coming Soon, to a DISboard Near You!

What if it were a loooooong boat ride? :lmao:

//:rotfl:

It is a pretty resort and the newly remodeled rooms are beautiful. We did enjoy our stay there, and the bus service was top notch... probably the best of any Disney property that we have been at.

Will you do the dining plan? The Pepper Market is pricey... the cafe is a better price. The bar food was good at the pool too!

Even though it's just a three-day weekend, I'm thinking of the dining plan because I want to do a signature dinner on my birthday. Funny how you get used to making ressies with DVC... when I called WDW Travel Co. to add the dining plan, the reservationist told my I couldn't with the code I used... that I had to buy park tickets as well. Oops. Forgot about that!

I'll be getting APs for Ed and me and hopefully the AP discounts will come out in July (that's when they usually do for the Fall.) Then I plan to ammend my ressie with an AP code, which hopefully will give and even greater discount.) Then I can add the dining plan. :thumbsup2

Best wishes on your job situation; I hope things get clearer for you and Ed soon!

CSR really looks like a beautiful resort, and you're saving money, so that makes it even better! :goodvibes

Thanks, Denise, I hope so!

Gee, you're on the DIS a lot lately... any imaginary trips planned? ;)

YAY for getting a room at CSR! You guys are going to have a great weekend getaway together!!!!

Sending pixie dust your way for future job interviews and your job search! I have a job interview coming up Tuesday!!! Excited that something has finally come up!

Yeah you can scout CSR out for me! That's our planned resort for winter vacation (2011). I like the Canbana section too.....more lush greenery than the other sections it looks like.

Just found your report. We stayed at CSR two years ago in the Casitas section and loved it. The theming was fantastic. DH and I rented one of the surrey bikes and had fun exploring the resort on it. DB and SIL stayed there last year and also loved it. Great choice!

Adding more prayers that a new doctor joins your practice. CSR looks like a wonderful choice it was the one I was considering for our anniversary trip, unfortunatley John had other ideas (at least they still include WDW) but that is a story for another PTR, if I ever finish my current TR that is.

Thank you and good luck with your interview, Jen! :shamrock:

Fantastic!

The landscaping in the Cabana section does look a little thicker; I know that the inside decor of the rooms is identical in all three sections. (Really, I think we'd be happy just about anywhere on Disney property!)

Hello and :welcome:

CSR is the only Mod we haven't tried yet, so I'm excited to stay there!

Thanks for the prayers... they are so appreciated!

Trust me, I know how much work it is to write a TR... it can be hard to keep up!

Chapter Six (I think): Da-Doo-Run-Run... Not!

While doing some all-important research for this weekend trip I happened to stumble across some info that I had previously missed. The Wine and Dine Half Marathon is the same weekend as my birthday!

Now, I'm hoping that it won't impact the parks too, too much but, having previously visited WDW during one of the Marathon Weekends in January, I know that the events do affect traffic, transportation, and park attendance to a certain degree!

Here is the schedule of events: http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/endurance/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/

I wasn't planning to go to Epcot on Saturday anyhow... Saturdays during F&W are notoriously busy... especially on the first and last weekends! So, I don't think the half-marathon will affect us much on 10/2.
I was, however, planning to spend Friday, 10/1 (my birthday) at the Magic Kingdom and it looks as though the 5K is being run there early that morning (7am).

Hmmm. Perhaps we may sleep in a little and give the runners and spectators a chance to clear out of the park. Either that, or schedule a nice leisurely breakfast!

And NO! Ed and I will NOT be running any kind of 5K on my birthday, so you can get that idea right out of your heads this instant!

I just noticed the cute new ticker. Is this something for this thread only or is the cat out of the bag?

Not imaginary, Tom knows about it. But we can only go if I find a job before the final payment is due. Tom took a huge cut in salary last year, and while I'm thankful he has a job, it's been tight. I've been out of the workforce for 14 years (since my second was born). I've had a bunch of interviews, even second interviews, but no offers yet.

Friday, 10/1 (my birthday)

That's Tom's birthday, too! Must be a good day! :goodvibes

Yes, definitely avoid Food and Wine on a Saturday -- the Saturday we were there wasn't even the first or last weekend, and I felt like I had stumbled into a big frat party.

I'm with ya girl, running a 5k is no way to start your birthday! A lazy morning waiting for the runners to leave the park sounds like a much better idea to me :thumbsup2

No, the kitty is still in there and I'm trying to keep her quiet!
That's why I only add the new ticker to my updates here and don't have it as part of my siggie... yet! ;)

(Ed sometimes pops in to read my TR.)

I think we're in exactly the same situation!

Ed did say that we could "go away somewhere for a weekend, just the two of us" if things panned out for either of us job-wise! Little does he know that I'm planning out all the details already!

Hey, it's important to stay optimistic! ::yes::

Good luck to you!

You've got that right! The same thing happened to us in '07. I made a dinner ADR at Restaurant Marrakesh that Saturday night without thinking. World Showcase was absolutely jammed!

It looks like Kathy just pasted the code into her message... that cute new ticker isn't in her actual siggy!

Sneaky, aren't I? :ssst:

Heck yeah!

 Perhaps reverse psychology will apply... people will see that the race is being run that morning and will choose another park instead!

Maybe it will be a good morning for the MK! :woohoo:

There you go, sleep in or cuddle ;) that morning.

I just don't understand why you don't want you guys to run in the 5K :confused3? You could even get one of those foot massages again:rotfl2:. Are you worried that when you tell Ed about the trip he finds out of the 5K and will want to run in it?

Cute ticker, when are you going to tell him so you can put it in your siggy line?

Thanks for the info Kathy!! I actually stumbled across it in the last couple days myself... I just had a chance to talk Disney plans with Laura & I think these are our plans:

Thursday, 9/30 - Travel Day then DHS - staying for Fantasmic (this is the only showing during our stay)

Friday, 10/1 - Epcot - staying for Illuminations

Saturday, 10/2 - Flexible Day, sleep in a little, enjoy POR, DTD, maybe a park in the evening - MK? - sounds like Epcot might not be a good choice... :confused3

Sunday, 10/3 - Magic Kingdom until our departure (estimated ME Bus at 4pm from POR)

Do you have an itinerary you're willing to share yet?

This little beauty:

...is still on hold when it comes to getting into my siggie.

I'm really, really hoping that the doctor will announce the addition of a partner sometime in the next couple of weeks! :yay: If so, then I can increase to full-time which will be the green light for our trip!

Now, if Ed finds a job and can retire this year, we've really got something to celebrate!

As for the races, well, Ed hasn't been running so I think its safe to say he will not suggest we do the 5K. Whew! And I wouldn't have to ask him twice if he wanted to sleep in a little!

I'm really trying to make this a "smell the roses" kind of trip and not overplan. (Ha! Good luck, right?!) So far I'm thinking Magic Kingdom for Friday and perhaps Animal Kingdom on Saturday. We may brave the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and eat around the World for lunch on Sunday before we leave! :goodvibes

MK would surely be less crowded than Epcot Saturday night and there's a Spectro showing that night... that would be fun!
