I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll start here. Am I the only one who doesn't like surprises? Let me explain. In the mail yesterday, we received the blue Disney envelope. We have started planning our next trip but we haven't booked yet. It didn't really register that it was a Disney envelope until it was no where to be found. My daughter let it slip that there was a surprise for me that her dad was planning, but that's all she would say. I then looked for the Disney envelope, but they had already hid it. I hate not knowing. I'm the planner in the family and I don't like not knowing what's going on. I wish there was someway I could find out. Sorry, I just needed to tell someone.

I am right there with you. When I was pregnant with my 1st ds - I knew when, where and everything else about my baby shower. I told everyone that I did not want to be surprised about anything.

Now you have to continue on with the "not knowing that it's a Disney trip".

When I turned 21 my parents had a surprise party for me - as we were approaching the house, I saw a bunch of cars that I recognized parked on the street. How do you act truely surprised?

We need the control!!:lmao:

I admit it. :) I like to plan it all. :)

I do too... See, if this were me, I would be on the phone with Disney to see if I could find anything out. I would go crazy not knowing, but I am also someone who unwraps Christmas gifts and re-wraps them. :lmao:

Call Disney and say you need to check something about your trip, maybe you can find out whats going on. popcorn::

unless........... you really want to wait. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

If you are the planner in the family, do you think they will tell you before the trip? I think it is great that they are doing this, but as the packer in the family there is no way my hubby would keep this secret until the day we left. I say let them have their "surprise". If it were me, I'd be talking about Disney every day until they were so sick of hearing me talk about it and they just told me their plans :rotfl:

it may just be a surprise regarding a trip you already have planned. My hubby surprised me with a spa day at SSR. It looks like according to your ticker you have 2 upcoming trips.

I'm the Disney planner in my family too. However, years ago, my DW surprised me the a trip to WDW. She contact my supervisor and my staff to have coverage for me while we were away. I LOVED IT!!:rotfl:

So, let them sneak around and scheme and do all of the planning! Afterall, their doing this to make you happy...don't take that from them!

OK he caved and told me about the surprise. :) He was trying to make dining ADR's and was having alot of trouble. He said it was alot harder than he thought. We are going to Disney in January for our anniversary w/o the kids and we're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm super excited.:cool1:

I am surprising my 2 girls ages 3 & 7, this is our first time going. They don't know we are going to WDW yet, they will hopefully find out when we get on the airplane. I can't wait, I've been hiding everything that comes in the mail and have been hiding all of the things that I am buying for the trip. Hopefully I can keep this up until our trip. ;)

Doing the same. Kids don't know and also retired inlaws no clue. a couple days before we leave my DW will let my inlaws know for packing reasons. She was going to try to pack a suitcase for them and ship it UPS to the resort and just get them on the plane. It'll be there anniversary while we are down there and they have no clue that we are taking them anywhere.

I would LOVE to be surprised with something like that! I get so sick of planning everything. Hope it's a great trip!

Thanks, I'm so excited. I think I will enjoy it more since I know about it. I can think about it longer and get more and more excited. I see you're from Lexington. We used to live there. My DH graduated from UK. We live in Greenup, Ky. now. Small world. :)

I moved here from NW Indiana when my husband and I got married. I'm not sure I'll ever bleed blue, but I like it here. :thumbsup2

Before we were married I surprised my DW with a Disney weekend. I told here we were going to Tampa for a little relaxation. I told her that it was just to good of a deal to pass up. Cheap flight with a hotel a few miles inland. We left on a Friday after work and landed in Tampa around 9:00 pm. Knowing her the way I do I was sure she would fall asleep as soon as we got into the rental car. She was out in five minutes. I drove for about an hour and pulled up to the Contemporary unloading area. As I got out of the car she woke up but I didn't say anything to her. I just walked to the back of the car and opened the trunk. As she got out of the car a CM was walking up and still half dazed from sleep she asked "where am I?" The CM said, "You're in Disney World" The smile on her face was priceless!!!!! It was a perfect moment.

That sounds really sweet. :) I can't ever sleep in the car.
