This trip was not planned, we just got back from Disney in December 2008. Our December trip was our daughter's first trip to WDW, she was born with lots of medical problems and at 5 weeks old while she under went her first of what would end up being 8 surgical procedures DH and I promised ourselves that as soon as she got a clean bill of health we would go to Disney. Well, that took three long years but we got there and we all had a blast. We went with my dad (Pepe) and step-mom (Meme).

We decided that due to cost we would go every other year, then one night in February I was watching TV and saw the commercial for "What will you celebrate?" and I decided that there are lots of things I can live without, but how magical would it be to go back to Disney to celebrate Savannah's 4th birthday?

I started reading the boards and watched for free dining, it finally arrived and the timing couldn't have been better so we quickly booked our trip 9/4 - 9/11, first at POP, until one of DH'f friends who works at Disney said it was well worth the extra $ to go back to POR (even though I found the cast to be rude last trip - I figured maybe they just had a bad week?) So, I made the change.

A little about our traveling party:

Me, working mom to one fabulous little girl who is truly my hero, I am like the Fairy Godmother, her wish is my command. Always. Any kid who can go through what she has and still be as joyful as she is deserves everything bright and magical life has to offer. My sole purpose for living is to share her joy.

DH, he is kind of like the beast (good thing he doesn't read these boards huh?). Seriously, he can be so totally annoying, yet so good and sweet. What can I say, love is blind? It has been a tough year for him, his mom died last summer after a long battle with cancer and his dad died a year before. To compound that, he is an independant flooring contractor, in this economy most people aren't re-doing their floors! It has been a long year for him.

DD, her favorite Princess is Sleeping Beauty and she does so resemble Briar Rose. She loves nature, animals, and spontaneously breaks into song. She has also overcome so many obstacles! She is just too beautiful for words princess:

My parents:

Dad (Pepe): He went last year and is definately not a Disney fan, although he did have tears in his eyes as my little Briar Rose got transformed into a Princess at the BBB! He finally agreed to go back, like I really had to twist his arm, ha ha.

Step-Mom (Meme): Being that DD is the only grandchild Meme does anything for her, even go to WDW twice in less than a year!

Mom (Nana): Nana lives in Arizona so when I announced we were going to WDW for DD's birthday she was happy to come along.

Step-Dad (Papa): Papa lives with Nana in Arizona and has lots of health problems, he can't really walk, so once we got one of those little motorized chairs he was good to go, yippy!

My brother (Uncle): No idea what made him decide to go since him and I don't talk but he is going which will be nice for DD.

My SIL (Auntie): Same as brother.

Half of us arrive on Friday 9/4, we are all at different resorts, my family is at POR, Pepe & Meme at Grand Floridian, Nana & Papa at Contemporary and I assume Uncle & Auntie are at campground but don't know for sure. We (me, DH, DD, Meme & Pepe) will meet for an early dinner at Crystal Palace Friday and then attend MNSSHP. Since my family is driving from Cape Cod MA we will actually leave home on Wednesday 9/2, this entire trip is a surprise for DD.

Saturday: Nana, Papa, Uncle and Auntie arrive, we will all meet up for dinner at Ohana's. My family will head to DHS with Pepe and Meme for the morning.

Sunday: Today is the big day, while DD's birthday was actually on 9/3 we are celebrating today starting with the first BBB appointment for a complete (cha ching) Princess transformation, whoo hoo. Next we will hang out at MK for the morning and have lunch at CRT. We will break for the afternoon since we have a specialty cruise booked to view the Illuminations fireworks. A little over the top I know!

Monday: Epcot, last year DD held up all day but we have two possible plans. We will do FW in a.m. and if she seems tired at lunch we will head back to hotel for a rest and return for our Tutto Italia dinner reservation. If she seems to be doing good we will head on to WS and leave after dinner for an early night.

Tuesday: Uncle and Auntie depart today. Today is for Animal Kingdom, no reservations today, just quick serve and maybe Rainforest Cafe for dinner at DTD if we feel like it, otherwise maybe a pizza delivery.

Wednesday: Pepe, Meme, Papa, and Nana depart today so we have a special Chef Mickey's breakfast to say good bye. Then we will hang out at the resort, swim, do laundry, start packing the car, etc. Off to DTD via river boat for dinnr, most likely WGP's counter service (love it!)

Thursday: Just the three of us in DD's favorite place on earth, MK! We plan to go early and take a break so we can return for dinner reservation at Tony's Town Square and then Spectro Magic.

Friday: Departure day, pack up everyone and the car before heading over to 1900 Park Fare for late breakfast. Then we are on the road again, dreaming of the next Disney trip!

Sounds like a great trip plan. I feel the same about my lttle mermaid.
She too overcame early hurdles in life, and still shows all the grown ups how to live life....A fellow massachusetts-ian here. We too are just weeks away.

Who knows, maybe a little Disney magic sprinkled into your trip, will bring all the siblings closer this year.
