Surprise announcement update!

If they offer something great tonight I am going to want to book ASAP. But I don't get a paycheck for a couple of days. Will they still hold the package for 10 days for you without the deposit?

Don't they take a Credit Card number to make the deposit?

I've always used my debit card.

OK.

I was actually just making the "card" point.

If you have a credit card, you could use that, then pay it off before the interest accrued.

I haven't read every post, but has anyone thrown out the idea that they could offer EMH at two parks simultaneously? For example, a.m. EMH at two different parks on the same day? That relates to 'time'.

I also think the extra days (e.g., buy 4, get 3 free) is plausible.

I also wouldn't rule out something about the next generation FP system.

Robo, I've never had one. :)

When I've called before to just inquire about a trip I remember them offering me the 10 days but I declined. Usually I just pay for everything when I call to book. But like I said, it'll be at least a few days before I can do that right now, but if they still offer that 10 days I'd like to go ahead and book if there are discounts released.

I posted this on another thread, but I thought I would post it here, too. What if....

Disney Parks gave a free ticket to EVERYONE this year, not just those having a birthday or those who volunteered, but EVERYONE. I'm not talking about just adding a day onto a multi-day ticket which is minimal savings, but adding a first day on. No purchase necessary. Now that would be big! Locals may use it for just the one day, but they will have to eat and may even do some shopping. Non-locals would end up purchasing things too like food, souvenirs, maybe add-ons to the ticket, and possibly hotel rooms. So Disney would still make money, plus they still have ticket sales for the other 365 days of the year. AP holders could use the ticket toward their AP renewal. Everyone would benefit. This would be one more Disney day for everyone!

I also think the announcement will have something to do with the new XPass. That is designed to save everyone "time."

I saw that "One More Day" commercial just once during the parade on Christmas. I've been waiting to catch it again but haven't seen it since. It's almost like it was a mistake and wasn't supposed to have aired yet or something! Otherwise, I'm not sure why they haven't aired it again. I mean, I could have missed it but I watch TV a LOT! :lmao:

On ABC Family just now was a Let The Memories Begin commercial, but just before that was a "brought to you by Disney Parks" tag, with a shingle that "One More Disney Day" on something that looked something like a Disney ticket, and the URL "onemoredisneyday.com".

Hmmm, interesting. I never thought to look at the end of that commercial since I thought it was the same one as always. The one I saw during the parade started specifically with the words, "What would you do with one more day? How many more memories could you make?" That commercial I only saw that once.

It wasn't at the end, but just before it began as they were transitioning to the commercials (when they say, "this program brought to you by...")

Ohhhh! I haven't seen that! Are you watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Ha!

I just saw it like, the same time you did. Was it the one with the Hispanic family celebrating the daughter's 15th birthday?

I didn't pay a ton of attention to the commercial (I think it is the one they ran all year), but I think they did say something about only having so much time to be a princess...

No, I don't think they mentioned princesses. I do recognize that commercial from earlier this year, I wonder why Disney tacked the 'One More Disney Day' on at the beginning? Just make a new commercial.:happytv:

I called CRO yesterday to inquire about upgrading our room at the GF .... He said nothing was available but to be sure to watch Dick Clark tonight!! Now that got me thinking, maybe tonight's announcement is somehow going to help me with my resort reservation???? I don't see how, but it's strange he said that.

I would love for it to be a free one day ticket. That way we could apply the cost to upgrading our tickets. :thumbsup2

Having one free day added to a reservation is a better "celebration" than being open 24 hours straight on Leap Day.

Although I don't know how they would be able to accommodate everyone that already has reservations set up for this year.

Sorry to say that you can safely ignore just about anything a "phone CM" tells you about park operations, transportation, special event timing, new promotions, etc.

They simply are not brought into the loop about much of anything in advance.

He was no doubt simply passing along the hype of the "announcement."

(i.e. NOTE to Cast Members: Be sure to tell all callers to "watch Dick Clark tonight!!")
