surprise 8th grade field trip

yesterday they told the 8th graders that the entire class -- all 300 or so of them -- are going to the movies today to see "the Alamo".

well, American History is the 8th grade social studies curriculum, isn't it?

That's so neat. I bet she'll remember that for a long time. I still remember back in my junior year an alum paid for the entire upper school to go to the Bronx zoo for the day. Parents were called to verbally give permission so it was a surprise until that day.
