Glow cubes make the drinks taste better! :thumbsup2

We have not been on the Dream yet...so looking forward to it. We cruised on the Magic last February and had a blast. We are all excited about the Aqua Duck and another trip to Castaway Cay!

Day 15, August 27

Royal Palace

It was time for dinner ... again at Royal Palace.

Our servers were already waiting when we arrived.

After ordering our Diet Cokes we were served a "carriage" full of

Warm Herb Brioche

with an Olive Spread. The brioche was soft and fluffy and it was perfect to mop up the Olive spread. Just a perfect start to our meal.

My first course this day was the

IMG_1788.jpg

The Comtesse Du Barry's Soup, rich velvety cauliflower cream, topped with salmon caviar croutons. I love cauliflower and this soup was perfect. It had a rich but not overpowering cauliflower flavour and the

IMG_1792.jpg

crouton, was still crispy and was wonderful with the slightly salty caviar flavour.

Tom's starter was the

IMG_1791.jpg

Double Baked Spinach Souffle, coated with a three cheese cream. Well, I had had that before and was happy, Tom wanted to try it, and he loved it as much as I did. The souffle is soft and creamy and full of flavour and goes wonderfully well with the lightly flavoured cheese sauce.

Main courses were to follow. I had ordered the

IMG_1794-1.jpg

Roasted Wild Boar Tenderloin , sweet carrot and onion potato cake with a red currant reduction, which was wonderful. The tenderloin was still pink in the middle, and the potato cake was crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside and the slightly sweet sauce was a perfect accompanyment.

Tom had ordered the

IMG_1798.jpg

Royal Palace Aged Angus Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Lobster Medallions, sauteed snow peas and marquis potatoes with a cognac reduction. Again, perfectly fork tender cooked beef, topped with a tasty piece of lobster and the sauce was to die for and went so well with the potatoes and meat.

Tom's dessert was the

Grand Marnier Souffle, infused with fresh orange zest and served with creme Anglaise. He has had this a few times yet and really enjoyed it every time. The souffle is light and airy and goes wonderfully well with the creme anglaise.

I tried the

Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brulee with a macaroon. The macaroon was light and crispy, the Creme Brulee was ... well regular Creme Brulee, I enjoy the one at WPE more. ;)

Next up - Royal Palace

Great update Karin - love that fruity-looking blue drink with its glow-cube.

Your dinner looks and sounds delicious. DH absolutely loves creme brulee - we went for dinne rlast night and he had a kit-kat creme brulee, which was different to say the least

I really should try to take photos of the menu, but we were so excited to be in skyline and the server was really nice and promised to pick something yummy for me! Needless to say I loved it! :thumbsup2

Kit-kat creme brulee ... hmmmmm ..... sounds ....... hmmmmmm ....... interesting! :lmao:

I am laughing because several of the last few updates are all drinks! :lmao:
The blue drink did look pretty cool. I really like your diet coke...presented in a beautiful can! :worship:
I can't wait to eat on the Dream again. ...uh.... I mean sail on the Dream. :rolleyes1
I need to lose about 50 pounds to prepare myself..so far..I have lost 2...and those 2 pounds keep trying to creep back on me. Such a struggle. And now we plan to do something in 2 weeks (I'm keeping it a secret for now, since we are not offically booked yet.) and I need to lose like 20 lbs in that time...think it can happen? :rotfl:

:woohoo: Planning something in 2 weeks - can't wait for the reveal! :thumbsup2

If you can do loose 20lbs in 2 weeks ..... please let me know HOW you did it! ;)

See, Ann, I told you, you have to try cruising ... and if only so you can try the souffle!
I think Tom would rate this his second best dessert - and the winner is

Chocolate souffle from Palo! :rotfl2:

Day 16, August 28

Royal Palace

And another breakfast at the Royal Palace was in store.

Tom got his coffee and I had some

IMG_1804.jpg

some nice tea.

Farewell breakfasts always lack a bit, while they are not bad, they are not outstanding either.

Tom ordered the

IMG_1807.jpg

Almost Home, corned beef hash, fried eggs, bacon and sausage.

I wanted to try something new, so I ordered the

IMG_1805-1.jpg

Omelet Map, a ham & cheese omelet, served with hash browns. Both breakfasts were nice and hit the spot.

Next up - Cove Cafe

I have to admit, I've never been a fan of those hash brown squares (or admittedly WDW breakfasts at all-does that make me blasphemous?).

Great update though!

Those hash browns remind me very much of a McD's breakfast. They are not my favourite thing at all, but the last breakfast of the cruise always makes me feel like "now get off our ship!!" :rotfl2:
But we crept right back on! :lmao:

:yay: You're up to our cruise!! :)

We had the beef tenderloins and lobster medallions and we also enjoyed them. I was thinking about the cream brulee, but I realized I had it at LeCellier earlier in the week, so I had the Grand Marnier Souffle and I am very, very happy I did. Everytime Rachel sees a picture of it, she wishes she had that dessert. Guess we'll have to cruise in the future so she can enjoy that dessert as well. :)

Yes, OUR cruise is about to start! :woohoo:

We had some wonderful food, didn't we? To be honest, I have never had the Grand Marnier Souffle :confused3!
It is Tom's favourite dessert in the Royal Palace! :thumbsup2 Maybe I should try it myself on our next cruise .... oh, another 164 days to wait! ;) :rotfl2:
