Support group for us no pin people!?

Please note~ I have been plotting and tweaking to receive a pin since April 16. I had given up all hope last week and just plain quit trying.

Ok. News!!!

I was lucky enough to give up waiting for a pin when the awesome discount that included late August was announced Monday May 3.

So then today, low and behold, on May 4, I got a pin!

Now this pin I received via email, is practically the same as the public discount 40/30/20 with black out dates, so it doesn't make a difference in my case, because whatever I would have needed for late August, the public discount took care of!

HOWEVER, it is better than the public offer for some of you, because it goes til mid-Dec with blackouts for Columbus Day vacations and Thanksgiving vacations!

It's not the white rabbit, though, it is the Dream-Come-True-Maker pin. It has the fifteen digits, so it's a true pin. I have NEVER received one before and would not have if I hadn't picked up on the hints here.

Here are my facts. 14 Disney accounts (I have since deleted two). A mix of yahoo, att, and gmail. All accounts have my name, my address, and birthdate ~ except one of the accounts has my name, my birthdate, and my childhood home address, where my son now lives, which is less than a mile away and THAT is the one that got the pin. None of the other 13 accounts got pins and I sincerely doubt they ever will as long as they have my home address.

Here are the stats for the account that got the pin:
account: new gmail
Disney account created: April 29
received explore resorts email: April 30
received vacation planning video email: April 30
pin received: May 4
type of pin: 40/30/20 til mid-Dec with blackout dates
name of pin: Disney Dream-Come-True-Maker
itineraries: created two itineraries both choosing a non-Disney resort stay

Why do I think I got this pin? I believe it is because I used my childhood home address, where my son now lives, and not my own address. That address is not in their system. I should know, I was born in that house, lol. And I wouldn't have thought to do that if it weren't suggested here.

That one email that got the pin, was actually the only one I thought would get a pin in my daily fantasies, because maybe just maybe Disney didn't know it was little old blacklisted me, lol. Oh, and it is also the only email address that got the explore resort email.

So thanks! I'm really glad to have finally received a pin. I'm also glad that I was able to give up waiting for one when the public code came out with the amazing deals. At least I now know the impossible, is possible. Well, let me rephrase that ~ I still believe I will NEVER ever get a pin with my accounts that contain my home address. Those of you that are convinced you will never receive a pin with your current account information, can maybe try to use a middle name, as others suggested here, or an immediate family member's address. Try something that is different from your usual information. And maybe use a gmail account.

Anyhow, thanks for having faith when I had long given up.
Good luck to all. May you all get stuck with pins!

Yep...changing the address seems to be "key" in this quest for PINs.
I also went ahead and booked with the GP rate at 30% off at a moderate.

Wouldn't you know, I got my first PIN yesterday :yay:

Here's the thing, of the 10 accounts I have with various emails at Disney Destinations, it was the only one where I used a fake address instead of my own that got the PIN.

So now I'm almost certain they have my address and phone number in the system and know that I have been to Disney World 11 times and paid full price each and every time, so they don't want to offer discounts to a "sure thing". Just my opinion, but it seems more than a little coincidental.

did you have any problems with using your pin on your real address?

As I said, I had already booked with the GP rate, so I didn't need to use the PIN, so I'm not sure how that would have worked. From what I understand, you can just go in and edit your personal profile anytime so if I decided to use the PIN, I could perhaps just go in and change the address to my real one before calling them to make a reservation :confused3

I had seven email accounts going last month trying to get the pin. The last two accounts that I setup, I used a new Yahoo email for each, my name, my birth date, but I used my parents address. I received a pin on both of these accounts. I still have not received a pin on ANY of the others.

I already had a reservation and had no problem applying the pin to it.

Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I guess I'll try it. I'm sure that my parents won't mind if I use their address. Did they ask you why the address was different from your billing address?

Well, I finally got a pin today. The only thing I changed in my profile was that I was still searching for a resort instead of staying off property. Then, the next day I got one. Now I have a question (and if this has already been answered I apologize). How many rooms can I book using a pin (The White Rabbit)? Can I book my parents room too even though they're not staying as long as us?

:cool1::dance3::cheer2:

Oh wait! We need the dancing bananas too!!!

Congratulations! I'm so happy it worked out for you and that you also got a pin. I agree, I think the address did it. While we will never really know the true mystery behind the pins, I think this thread has uncovered more than a few hidden gems.

Oh boy, this is brilliant! :flower1:
Thanks for that idea!

Yes and you can book up to 3 rooms!
Congrats on your ' winnings'

I just tried to book with my pin. However, since apparently this particular e-mail address was under my parents address (but my name and birthday), they wouldn't book it for me. And, when I asked if I could book 2 rooms with it, they said no, just one. But, then she went and looked around and found that there was another pin associated with the account my husband's name is under (hence the correct home address). So, I put a 7 day hold on our room. But, I still don't have a room for my parents. Did I just get a CM that didn't know what she was doing or are some of you just luckier than me?

Call again for someone else.... I'd say...

I agree with Jgallant. Call again and see if another CM will let you apply the pin. Obviously other people have done it, and I also think that that CM was wrong to tell you that you could only book one room with a pin. I just created a new account with my parents address, so we'll see what happens. If I get a pin, I'll obviously post to let everyone know whether or not I was able to apply it. Good luck getting that pin applied!:thumbsup2

I logged in (on the Disney site) using the e-mail address that my 1st pin was sent to and, under my profile, MY address is listed, not my parents. So, it seems as though they keep track of your name and associate the latest information you've entered on the website with it. The latest account I had signed up for online was with my parents address. But, it was not on the e-mail address that I received the pin. They claimed that I couldn't use the pin I received because it was my parent's home address associated with that e-mail. Not true. Anyway, I hope some of that made sense. I'm really confused about this whole pin process now! :confused3

Did you call back yet though?

Did you call back yet though?

No. Still waiting for a confirmation from my parents that those dates work. Although, I guess I could call back and put both of our rooms (if they let me book my parents' with a pin) on a 7 day hold.

I followed the steps exactly and never received a pin. I think I am done playing the pin game for now and will just wait to see if there is a Disney Visa or public offer for FD after Oct 2nd. I have 8 email addresses. I have done everything that has been posted on here, rec'd the welcome email, stationary, video, etc, deleted saved offers, itineraries, left the accts along and nothing.

I have rec'd regular offers from Disney but no pin code offers at all.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I guess pin codes are not for me (and I only want FD anyway-not a room discount-so it's probably for the best to let someone else have it that needs the room discount).

I'll still keep checking this board and seeing how everyone else is doing. :surfweb:

Wow....really weird....I just called back to try to add my parents using the other pin. I was on the phone for 30 minutes as the CM tried to figure out what was going on. The e-mail address that I was told was associated with my parents home address, she first told me was now associated with mine. THEN, she found another screen that said it was associated with my parents' address. So, I asked if I could use that pin to make their reservations. She said "no" because it goes by the name on the pin NOT the address (which is the total opposite of what I was told last night). But, then I told her that I'm being told by others that they were able to book more than 1 room under 1 pin (which I was told I couldn't do last night). So, she put me on hold for a good 5 minutes to find out. When she came back, she said I could do it (which again is the opposite I was told last night). So, the moral of the story is, keep calling back if you want something and maybe you'll get a CM who will let you. Not sure anymore what truly should be done in these cases. But, I got it done after 2 LONG phone calls.

Just wondering, have you tried an alternate address ( a work address? maybe)
That seems to help some?

Good Luck to you either way! Hope you get some kind of deal!
