Batteries,i always forget them and there so expensive in the parks
I always pack a little first aid bag, calpol(if you have kids),painkillers, plasters etc..Like the other person i also don't like taking medicines i'm unfamiliar with, especially giving something to my girls that they have'nt had before.
I like to take my own pillowcase(yes you can laugh!!!!).x.
As we are getting ready to pack tonight (flying tues) this year my wife and i have decided only to carry the bits we need for the 1st day, beacuse every yr we take to 2 much stuff 4 the kids. u can buy it all out there.. so my advice just take the basics u need 4 the 1st 24hrs then after that hit walmart... 3 days and counitng
Apart from taking prescription meds, we always stock up on generic painkillers, ibuprofen, antacids, antihistamines, cold/flu remedies in CVS or Walmart. Sooo much cheaper than the stuff we buy in UK and equally effective IMO...
Saint Calpol , paracetamol and plasters, which for some reason seem to be expensive in Publix. Also if there is a particular suntan lotion you prefer take that as its unlikely you will find it, if at all, cheaper.
Also want to avoid any allergies as others suggest.
I always stock up on Ibuprofin (miracle painkiller for all aches and pains and swelling) int he USA... unlike here, you can buy in bulk in the USA: normally get a bottle of about 500 tables for under $10... great value!
in addition to what everyone else has mentioned (about what they bring and what they stock up on in the US), i bring Otrivin nasal spray.
I don't know if it's sold in the UK - it's manufactured in Switzerland and is available where i live.
It is not available in the US and is far superior to anything sold in the US for spray decongesting of the nose, ears and sinuses. I consider it a kind of miracle spray for those conditions.
i bring one bottle for each of us on the plane and pack a few extra bottles in the suitcase just in case (they're tiny little bottles).
Since it's liquid it has to be in the clear ziplock bag or put into a bin separately at airport security.
Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on taking drugs into the US? I once read that paracetamol wasn't allowed in, but I don't know how acurrate that was. (I read this after I had taken it with me without any fuss.)
Or for that matter bringing them back in to Uk - especially the over the counter US products that are prescription only over here.
I've always taken Paracetamol-some in hand luggage-extra supplies in cases. Never heard it mentioned. Also take 'Saint Calpol' sachets for kids.
I always take Anthisan cream for bites/stings as well as above painkillers & Savlon, also plasters, antiseptic wipes. Keep in cheap clear pencil case from Woolies (39p I think) so all together and handy to take to park each day.
