Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

You are very brave to drive all of that way in one shot! I hope the traffic cooperates with you. Of course, you don't have kids with you so that is a big help. Our 9 1/2 to 10 hour drive to Massachusetts (Springfield) has become a 12 to 14 hour trip now that we have 3 kids. Although I swear that it is the Jersey turnpike that always takes FOREVER!!

I am happy for me:yay: that the TTA will be open during our trip, but sad :sad1: for you! I love that ride, too! I've never taken a foot picture before, but I'll be sure to do it this time-just for you!

Hi Leslie and HEY MARC (aka GusGus)

I am so glad for both of you that we have a new DISer in your family!!!! ;o)

Sorry to hear about the TTA's closure for your trip---it is one of our favorites though!!!!

Hey, if you need some more help nudging you into a fall 2009 trip, just think of how many Lapuettes are probably going to be there in September/October.............just sayin'!!!!!!! (I am SUCH the enabler!)

I was just reading my Mousesavers newsletter and in the "Closed for Refurbishment" section it states that....

TOMORROWLAND TRANSIT AUTHORITY will be closed from 4/19/09 - 8/19/09.

Sniff Sniff. I knew this was a possibility since Space Mountain is getting refurbed at that time too but still, I am sad. I ook forward to riding TTA for some relaxing down time in the park.

:sad2:

BOOOO! That's lousy! I'm sorry to hear that.
You inspired me to see if anything's being rehabbed during my March trip. I see Ellen's Energy Adventure will be down for two months. Wonder what they're doing to it? :scratchin

I briefly mentioned a She/He said TR for May. We'll see if I can talk him into it. :thumbsup2

That would be AWESOME! Do it Marc, do it!! :teeth:

;)
Ha Ha! Get it? Minnie!? Mini? Ha Ha!

Yeah. Not very funny but HA!

I just have to share this with all of you. This morning, Marc calls me while I'm at work like normally does when he gets home from work. He tells me that he has some very exciting news. I'm all excited, a bonus from work? An chance for some overtime? You won the lottery?

No. No. And sadly, no.

My husband joined the DIS! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

My husband who was skeptical of adults enjoying Disney, who doubted my enthusiasm for our September '08 trip, joined the DIS. It's one of those moments like when he proclaimed that Peter Pan was cool or when he belly laughed through Toy Story Mania or when he claimed that we should always stay at Wilderness Lodge after being in our room for 5 minutes or when he keeps telling me we really have to buy into DVC. I am so proud. :lovestruc

I told him he should post on here, we'll have to wait and see if he does. But that ruins my next update because it was a surprise-ish thing for him. :rotfl: It's okay. I can still tell you about it, just not the details.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's awesome! :welcome: Marc! I'm one of your biggest fans! After all, I AM a Marcette! ;)

I know it! I am sad, too. Space Mountain is Charles' and Chelsea's fave ride at MK, and I was looking forward to riding TTA and taking a "foot" pic. Ha ha ha!

You guys will LOVE the new Space Mtn!!! I rode the new version in Disneyland and it was so amazing. PITCH black, except for lights, you really feel like you are truly in space You can't even see the other cars- just hear them. SO SMOOTH- you can't even feel the tracks!

I was really disappointed in WDW's version after having DL be my first experience. Trust me, you will  it!

That's okay, we all enable each other on here. I am not sure if we can swing it but it's in the back of my mind.

I was curious about Ellen's Energy Adventure as well, I have never been on it.

I think that's the scariest part!

Is GusGus every coming out of hiding???? :rotfl:
I don't know. He's being stubborn, I think he's embarrassed. :rotfl:

That's so cool that Marc joined the DIS (hi Marc!) I think it would be awesome if you both did your May TR. :thumbsup2

I think I will do the bulk of the TR and he will come in and add his perspective. :thumbsup2

Awww. that stinks about the TTA. :headache:

LOVE the idea of a his and hers TR! :thumbsup2

Hi Marc!!!! :)
I think we'll try it out and see what happens.

Has he seen the t-shirt design yet???
The Sir Leslie one? Yes, he liked it.

That is so awesome! Marc is on the DIS...he's never going back...it is official he is an addict. Marc if you are reading this...HI!!!!:wave2: The only thing that my husband and yours have in common in the above statements is my hubby is also considering DVC only so he can actually afford how many more times I'll be coming, he's pretty much resided himself to the fact this will be my vacation spot of choice for a long time LOL

Awww to the surprise...you can always PM me and tell me...cuz you know I love surprises LOL

That is too great that your DH joined the DIS!!!! :disrocks:

I can't get mine to discuss where he wants to eat, or which stroller we should take. :lmao:

I will definitely be too excited to sleep, but we can't check in until Sunday the 17th. I will probably be bringing the benadryl. We will be staying at the BCV's. I'm not sure whether we are getting a ded 2 bdrm or a 1bdrm/studio lock off. There are 9 of us that will be sharing.

Oooh, Beach Club will be so nice. Someday I will get to stay there. :thumbsup2

Once again, here in the LL/Marc Household, we have made changes to our Disney Vacation.

Quite frankly, my head is starting to hurt from all of these changes. :faint:

I am done making changes. No more date changes, no more mode of transportation changes, NO MORE because today we made a very big change.

Sigh. Marc and I made a pledge that in 2009 we would be fiscally responsible, pay down our debts and just make wiser money choices. We've been doing really well too. We've consolidated all of our CC debit. We've cut up all our CC's and we aren't using them. We haven't been buying useless items. I haven't done any online shopping this month which is huge for me. We canceled our December '09 trip and we are trying to do our May trip with not going overboard on the money spending. I am proud of ourselves.

I was fretting today about the cost of our trip. We have the money to pay it off but I want more of a cushion if you will for all those crazy emergencies in life.

Bottom line, I want to pay less for our trip. So we talked about our options.

Option A: Cancel our Trip.

We decided "NO WAY JOSE". We need this trip for ourselves. We are looking forward to it and we need some stress relief.

Option B: Get rid of the dining plan.

We did some calculations and unless we could commit to just eat counter service meals, it doesn't make sense not to use the dining plan. We feel it's a good value for the two of us. We also know that we like sit down meals at least once a day.

Option C: No Park Hopping.
This option we can live with. Granted it's only $100 off our package but it's $100 less we have to pay. We took them off of our tickets with the thought that if we have the extra cash when we arrive and want to hop then we can add them to our tickets.

Option D: Go for less nights.

It just doesn't make sense to stay for less than 7 nights since we are taking advantage of the for 4/3 deal. For the cost of dining those three nights, we get the hotel paid for. Works for us. We are staying for 8 nights though, so we debated that. Do we really need that night? Answer: No. Do we want that night? Answer: Yes. Okay, how do we make it happen then?

This is what I said to Marc, "I hate to say this but we could stay value."

Value Disney is much better than no Disney. So we changed to a Value resort. When we made the change I got excited that I would have a resort to research.

So what value resort did we pick and why? :scratchin

You'll have to wait until the next update! :wave2:

The suspense is killing me!!!

You will have a great vacation regardless of which resort you're staying at especially knowing that you are saving your money! Besides, you'll need to save that money for when you have babies and need to go deluxe for the convenience of the monorail & boats!
