Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

Hey LL! I just wanted to check in and make sure all is well with you--I read on the boston.com website that there's lots of power outages in MA. :scared: I don't know what part you live in, but I just wanted to check in. (ETA: I realized after reading this again that if there IS a power outage, that likely means that you can't get online, or power up a computer. Brilliant!! I need to sleep.)

I thought of you on Thursday--we went to eat at Not Your Average Joe's and there were some really cool lights in there. I know that you love light fixtures at Disney, and this was in Mass, but it still made me think of you. :rotfl:

I hope that the park hours are released ASAP so that you can plan away and post those plans. :thumbsup2

Hello!! We were fine in the ice storm! Our power flickered during the night yesterday but other than that we were fine. It seems we were one of the lucky ones. A lot of people at work had no power and some couldn't even get into work because of the ice and such where they lived.
Glad to hear that you made it through too! Did you get to go to your concert??

I have never been to Not Your Average Joe's. I was drooling over light fixtures at TGI Fridays the other, I truly have a light fixture sickness.

There are a lot worse things to be obsessed with/addicted to! :thumbsup2 Your fixture sickness is hurting absolutely no one, and some of us really enjoy it!
I'm glad you see it that way. :rotfl2: Though when I was contemplating bringing my camera to Fridays next time, you should have seen the eye roll I got from Marc. :upsidedow

I'm glad that you guys were fine through it. :thumbsup2 My grandmother in Ohio called because she's been seeing stuff on the news about it, and all they've said is "Massachusetts," so she wasn't sure about us.

We got to the concert, and just missed the ice, I guess. It was just cold and really, really heavy rain.

I love the lights at Fridays! The one near me doesn't have as many cool many lights, but I've been to one that has LOTS of them, and have pointed out all the ones that I want to take home.

Hey LL!!!

I finally finished the F&G festival 09 gnome shirt for you AND Marc!!

Let me know what you think:goodvibes

I'm ready to throw all the planning out the window and just Pirate It Up a la the TK Clan for this trip.

Arrrr. pirate:

I'm not going to lie.

I was happy to be in Disney last weekend.

But I also wish I could have helped you, hon! Maybe TK needs to purchase a laptop. :lmao:

I'm a huge fan of Pirate-ing it up, as you know.

But honestly, when you're thinking about all these options, think about it like this.

You've always wanted to try POR. You have 2-3 upcoming trips to experiment with different hotels, so why not give it a shot? You've loved the photos...did you get there on your last trip to see it in person, I can't remember?

As far as dining, my limit is one ADR per day, with a couple of days of nothing. That's what works for my family, you know? I think it may help you to decide what the focus of your trip is.

Is the focus to relax and chill and take your time smelling the roses? In that case, maybe you want the basic dining plan.

Is the focus to try all those fun restaurants you didn't get to last time, and repeat some favorites? In that case, go with deluxe.

Talk with Marc, see what kind of a "flavor" you want this trip to have.

I hope that helps, hon.

Thanks, TK! We did chat about it and I am still not 100% sure on what I want to do but I think I am getting closer to a resolution.

Sorry to hear about your Disney funk! I've been there as well-it all gets overwhelming sometimes. I haven't done a thing for our January trip, and I just have to force myself to begin all the FDM.

I'm glad to hear you are nearing a resolution. Just remember, no matter what you pick, your trip will be fantastic, you'll be in Disney!

:rotfl2: This is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love love love it!

Hi LL! Just doing a little DIS'ing while I eat my breakfast in the hotel here at WDW. :) I only skimmed but it seems you're in a funk? And thoughts of cancelation have entered your head??

Well, I have two thoughts for you:

All of the light fixtures yet to be photographed. Funny story about that. I met up w/ some other DIS'ers the other night to drink around the world and I heard one exclaim "ooh a light fixture!" So I whip around and I say "you like light fixtures too??" And she says "oh yes, did you know there is even a thread out there for light fixtures?" You're famous!! :goodvibes

2nd thought. I saw Mary Poppins yesterday in "England" and she is very excited to be seeing you again soon.

Hang in there. And ignore the "complaining" threads... it's as magical as ever. :goodvibes

And if you have any doubts, there's always my way

pirate:
Honestly, I think this all started because I want to be flexible like I was on our last trip. We did a lot of last minute things that weren't on the official itinerary. I want that flexibility. And you know, we were able to snag a few last minute ADR's while we were down there and if we have some extra money then maybe we can try to do that, you know? pirate:

I'm glad you like it:goodvibes

I wanted you and Marc to both be able to use it:thumbsup2 He'll be happy the Gnome is on the other Foot......:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Paula
Marc really liked it too. Too funny. I am thinking about making some luggage tags because Marc didn't like the standard Disney ones last time because at the end of our vacation at the airport he said everyone had gray luggage with those Disney tags. :lmao:

That's right. I'm really excited for this trip and I really can't wait. :woohoo:

 I'm so shocked that others know about my light fixture thread!! I feel so special and I have a few little tears in my eyes reading your post.  :grouphug:   Oooh, I can't wait to see Mary Poppins again.

Thank you so much for giving me some Disney Pixie Dust this morning!!

I have made some dining decisions! Aren't you all proud of me? :rotfl2:

I've decided that we are going to do the Basic Dining. No Deluxe this time around. It was stressing me out as I was writing a park itinerary to have to make all of those ADR's. I've also been thinking about the annual passes. As much as I would love to be an AP holder, I don't think it's the best move for us for two big reasons. One, it's going to be hard to come up with all that cash up front for the AP's. And second of all, we do want to start a family and we don't know when that will happen, so it might not be wise if our December or 2010 trip could be canceled. So there you go. I feel better. And the third reason I just thought of...I don't have to stress about making 50 bazillion ADR's when they finally open up our window!

With all of that being said...I have been promising you an itinerary so here are our first two days.

Saturday May 23rd: Arrival Day!!
*Arrive & Check in to Port Orleans Riverside.
I am hoping to get an earlier flight. I would love to land before Noon, but those flights are usually a bit more expensive so we will have to wait and see what I can justify.
*CS Lunch at Riverside or Epcot
Depending on how hungry we are, we might try to power through and grab something at Epcot but we also might want to refuel a bit before heading to the park.
*Epcot WOO HOO!
I am really hoping we can squeeze in Soarin this day without a ginormous wait and perhaps Test Track.
*Dinner @ Le Cellier
Mmmm....I dream about that Chocolate Moose. Best dessert of our last trip. I haven't quite decided what time I will try for, I might not have any say in the matter. It would be nice to hit up Illuminations since we missed it last trip but we are going to have an early morning....

Sunday May 24th: Magic Kingdom!
*Breakfast at Crystal Palace
I am hoping to score another before park opening ADR. It was the best morning of our last trip. We will be paying for this OOP like we did last time as well, we think we can find better use of our table credits.
*Magic Kingdom Morning
Last trip we were able to get all of Fantasyland done before 10AM. I am hoping to get a few rides in, namely Peter Pan & It's a Small World before going over to wait for rope drop in Toon Town...to MEET TINKERBELL. :woohoo: I don't care how long I have to wait but I am going to meet her. I would also like to meet Ariel but don't know if I will be up for two mega lines in a row.
*CS Lunch at Magic Kingdom
I'm thinking either Pinocchio's Village Haus or Casey's depending on our mood.
*Rest & Relax at Riverside
*Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
I'm not 100% sold on doing two buffets today, I might think on this some more and just do another CS or a different sit down. TBD. Any great TS or CS near MK that you can recommend?
*Back to MK for EMH's
Traditionally EMH's hours are at MK on Sunday nights and we hit this up last trip and had a blast. I would like to catch Spectro again and hope they have two showings since it's Memorial Day weekend and maybe Wishes. I would also like to ride Dumbo at night. :dumbo: I also think we will bring the tripod into the park this night too. It came with a carrying case and Marc has offered to carry it if I want to bring it.

There you have it, our first two days. I got really really excited typing this out. :yay:
