Super Goofs Team 4 Miles Challenge

7 miles for me today, yes 7! 4 were on the TM with 60 minutes time. The other 3 were clocked on the pedometer around the house. I was cleaning & doing laundry, who knew that it was that many miles! I'm happy! I knew there was a reason my legs are hurting today!

Well, I definitely let the Super Goofs carry me through my dreadmill time!!

I had no motivation to get it done today.....I am tired.....but it's no excuse! I did it for the team.....that makes it a little easier to get it done.

time: 60:00
miles: 4.00

Stacey - are you the one who has the shirt that says something to the effect of "why run slow when you can walk really fast?" I want that shirt! If it's you - where did you get it?

Lisa - you are DEFINATELY doing Great Bay? :scratchin Me thinks we need a WISH - Super Goofs meet there!

I got in 3.5 miles on this crazy day - 44:26.

I have been up since 3am and going non-stop. It's 8pm now and this is the first time (besides a lunch date with Chad) that I have sat down since I left work at 11:30am! :faint:

I'll probably post my miles/times every few days, some days I'm on here alot, sometimes not so much...

2/1
.5 mile/10 minutes, blister on right foot split again

2/2
2.7 miles/38 minutes, only walked, due to blister

2/3
1.5 miles/20 minutes, blister on left foot split (and this one really hurt again)

2/4
1.4 miles/23 minutes, blisters ok, but didnt want to antagonize them (I have a race on Sunday, and need them to be better!)

I have been taking it easy 'cause of these stupid blisters (I mean really, I only got 7 of the dumb things, you'd think they would have healed by now..)

anyhow...great job team on all your miles/times...

Angie - lots of :wizard: for those blisters! That really stinks. I (knock on wood) have never had a blister from walking/running. I am extremely lucky! If Lisa and I do Great Bay, can we coerce you into it too??? My Mom and Chad might also do it again if I say I am. It will be fun...

Okay, we are up to date to here.

Angie: Nice to see you are getting in some time despite your suffering. You are an inspiration to us all. I can hear my coaches now "work through the pain" they used to say. Anyway :worship: to you for persevering. Are you still doing Hampton? How about Great Bay with the rest of us???

Kristi: I am still waiting for some certain person to commit before saying yes for sure. :lmao: I am training like I am doing Great Bay that way I will be prepared!! :rotfl:

Stacey: Great tee. I love it!!!

Debra (the invader): I am glad you appreciate the challenge for what it is. I am hoping to put one out there a month but if you come up with one first, please post it here too!!!!

Great job everyone getting out there. You are all doing so well with putting in your time and, in Angie's case, taking one for the team (ouch). I am so proud of all of you. We may not be triathletes but we are definitely athletes!!!!!

Hey, Super Goofs, I just wanted to tell you that I love ya guys!! Keep up the good work!!! :goodvibes

Krista

What a great, supportive team we have. I appreciate all the encouragement everyone is giving. GO SUPER GOOFS!!!!

Beth

gosh guys, I didn't mean to sound like I was whining!!!

ok, maybe I was a bit, it's been almost a month since the half, and they still havent healed...but I wasnt making excuses!!!! Just wanted you to know why my numbers are down right now...

I dont know about the Great Bay, someone (Kristi, that would be you) has scared me about the hills...but we'll see....cant be a wimp all my life, right?

That's exactly what I am doing - training as if I am doing it as well! :lmao:

Ok, girls....are we in?
We can kick those hills' butts!

Anyone else wanna join in?

Good Morning!

8.0 miles in 1:22.

I hate hills. Today was tough because I am still suffering from yesterday's swimming fiasco. I wasn't THIS tired at the end of Goofy. I am taking tomorrow as a rest day.

Cecilia

Angie: Honey, you did not sound like you were whining. I am just feeling your pain!! I can't believe they have not healed yet.

Kristi: Did you do it...did you sign up....did ya....did ya......:hyper:

My SIL is under consideration of Great Bay. She won't run it unless:
A. She knows she can (cuz she has been running longer and would NOT want to be embarrassed by moi).
B. She knows she can run it faster than me (see A).

So, Angie, Kristi and any other great Northern (or Southern if you want to brave the weather) member who wants to put their hand in for Great Bay, I am willing to keep pace with anyone. I am not in this for a PR, just miles and fun...mostly fun. Hey did I just say a half was fun. Again, there I go being random....:lmao:

Great Bay does have a walker category which makes it alot less intimidating (for me anyway). The walkers start a half hour before the runners. So last year it was pretty cool when Chad came up and stayed with me for a bit. He made the mistake of asking how I was doing! :rotfl:

I plan to do some weekday SRs on the treadmill at the Y on incline to prepare for hills. I think I will start that next week.

Last year I had a PR of 3:02 - even with the crazy hills. I'd love to have a sub-3, but again, those hills! That's why I want to walk on the treadmill with incline to prepare.

It's $40 until March 1st - then it's $48.

SOOOOO, anyone sign up yet?????

Kristi and all you others who know you want to, let me know as soon as you all decide. I am leaning toward doing this one anyway as I am semi-committed to the MDI marathon in October and it is serious hills for 26.2 so this will set the tone for me. I will sign up as a runner as I feel if I do any running at all, it is unfair to sign up as a walker. I would probably do the same as Chad, sneak attack you all and then stay with you for the rest. Kristi, I would LOVE to help you PR this, Angie you too. I love you guys!!!

I did manage an hour today between my Yoga Booty Ballet (love those) and shoveling our snow/sleet crap so, no miles but an hour to our total. :cool1:

On my YBB tape they flashed on the screen "through challenge and desire we attain our goals". Keep this in mind and namastay everyone. Tomorrow I will feel better!!!

Just back from the Y. Meant to be 5 miles. Ended up doing 3.
I am just plain exhausted. I had nothing left.
Honestly, it if wasn't for this competition, I would not have gone to the gym at all.
This is seriously what I need to stay accountable - thanks guys! :goodvibes

I am determined to add in those 2 missed miles somewhere by Saturday.

3 miles
38:55

I am 99% sure I am in for Great Bay.
I think I will wait until the end of the month to sign up though.
I even wore last year's Great Bay shirt to the gym today!

I am not sure why I am so sore today. I put in 4 miles on the tread mile in 45 minutes then I did an hour spin class. I have a hot tub that is calling my name- plus a nice glass of wine!
GREAT WORK everyone!
Does anyone use Jeff Gallway's method. Those walk breaks sound tempting!

What is the Great Bay? I did a quick goggle search and did not find anything. I want to do the Vermont one because I can drive up there and I am a little familiar with the area.
